As a Scream fan it feels good to say that it's the only horror franchise where every movie has something really good about it and they're all very watchable.
Yes! Even if some instalments have bad elements and plot points, I think the scream franchise is one where I can rewatch every movie and still enjoy it as much as I did (if not more) than I did the last time!
I'm sure someone already said this but I don't see it in the comments. Chris Rock didn't direct Spiral, Darren Lynn Bousman did. (He directed Saw 2, 3 and 4. I didn't like Jigsaw much when I first saw it but it's grown on me a lot. I guess I'm the exception who watches Saw for the plot 😆
Same. I’m not super into the torture aspect but the plot kept me watching the series. Looking forward to Spiral, seems to have the feel of the first movie.

Tori Groves I think first one was just spectacular, no over the top gore, amazing story and that twist... WOW but then later movies lost a bit of that and amplified the gore so I think that’s what most fans miss a bit. But like you said, I as well, love Saw movies and watch it as a drama series 😄
Story, yes. ‘Cherish your life. Cherish YOUR life.’ That hangs my interest in the details-blind sense of the larger concept. But after escaping death, I think many would agree it wouldn’t work long term for most
It was pretty unnecessary and I enjoy the original more, but honestly I did enjoy the second one. I thought it was good for different reasons from the first.
I have an unpopular opinion, The creatures while effective, i didnt think it was necessary for their addition. Just the notion of trapped and lost underground is terrifying.
I would have been cool with the second one except I really didn’t like most of the characters they added and for me it was boring and less well done with the environment
What’s funny about THE final destination is the race track scene was filmed at my local track. I can vividly remember them filming at the track across the street from my house as a early teen
You aren't wrong about the Human Centipede movies. Even when the first one came out, I felt like it was someone just had a twisted idea for special effects for a kill in a Saw movie and decided to base an entire movie around it... The fact that they decided to make more than one movie is just astounding to me lol. 🙄😂
Paul Hurtado the story of how the director got the idea for the 1st one is actually pretty interesting haha basically the director was watching the news with his friend and there was a story about a child molester and his friend joked that they should stitch these people-mouth to butt- with some gross truck drivers as a punishment :D
I was expecting to see Scream 3 on this list but I'm glad it wasn't. I rewatched it last week and I was highly entertained even though the writing and story beats could be lazy at times. I have a new found appreciation for it!
Scream 3 is actually good but we all need that one to pick on.. I love Scream 1,2 and 3 it's actually Scream 4 the one I have mixed feelings about. Scream 3 wasn't as bad as people say and the soundtrack kicks ass
1) what a chonk of a cat, I love him 2) watching said cat follow your hand between pets is hilarious and reminds me of my boy. I love it. 3) definitely agree with all of these.
hey sarah!!! really enjoyed the video ♡ i think if you’re gonna do “sequels that are better than the original” you should add Ouija:Origin of Evil & Annabelle Creation. in my opinion those were some of the best sequels to movies that just kinda felt meh. personally, the first ouija was so bad like the acting & story & stuff was just horrible & the first Annabelle had a meh story & the scares weren’t really there but their sequels were great!
Hey Sarah! Just wanted to say I'm super glad I found your content. I've always loved horror (I'm a playwright who writes in the horror genre) but I've always been too scared to watch paranormal movies. However, since watching your videos and due to the current state of the world, I am watching all the movies you recommend and ones I've always been too scared to watch! I love them! Loved The Ring, especially. Keep on being awesome!
I agree about Centipede 3. It was so bad I was actually angry I watched it. I enjoyed the first two movies but that third one , what the hell were they thinking ! You cat is adorable!!
My cat Koneko went to the TV and gave Pepe a lil paw 😭😻 so cute. I’m the same with Silent Hill Revelation. I honestly don’t even think the first film is that good really, but it’s one of my faves and I’ve watched it sooo many times. The second one just makes me laugh 😅 but I did recently buy the steel book of it cos it was super cheap!
I think you mentioned Chris Rock directing Spiral, he's only producing and starring (with a story credit I believe?) Darren Lynn Bousman who directed Saw 2-4 is the director behind this one 😄 keep up the great content, as a horror filmmaker/fan I love your work 👌
I actually like Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension, somehow it actually scared me and it worked for me. I remember watching this at my Tia’s house and remember going to the bathroom and being locked in and thought it was a ghost. It’s one of my favorite worst sequel
Sarah: "I've heard that the first Silent Hill movie is more faithful to the first game..." Me, a Silent Hill fan: *incoherent cackling* The first Silent Hill movie is definitely not faithful to the game. In fact, I would say that it's very loosely based on the game, while Silent Hill 3D is off-the-rails bonkers. To me, the first SH movie might not have been faithful in plot, but it definitely was in mood/feeling/visuals. It’s my favorite movie based on a video game. Sure, Pyramid Head didn’t make sense in this context, but he doesn’t in later games either. Plus, the soundtrack is amazing and taken right from the game.
I agree, I was thinking that if she doesn't play the games that she should just keep her critique of the film to that of a horror film, whether it is based on a game or not and not even bring them up in comparison to the films.
I genuinely like Jigsaw. I think part of the reason. Is that it was the first Saw film I saw in theaters, mainly because I was 4 when the first Saw came out, so I came into it pretty late
@@jacklemm1518 I’ve only seen saw 1,2 and Jigsaw. I’ve also seen about half of saw 3 but didn’t finish It because I disliked it so much. The saw series went downhill after 2 in my opinion, the fist was definitely the best because it was so simple. Jigsaw was actually better then I expected .
I’m so glad I found your channel as it really helped me appreciate horror through a new perspective. Although, I don’t always agree with your review or opinion, I love hearing your insight on different aspects of the horror genre. Great content, keep it up!

Some of my personal worsts: Howling II: Stirba - Werewolf Bitch - Absolutely freaking insane how absurd that movie is. Feels like 6-7 different movies fused together! Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines - After # 2 the Wrong Turn franchise became really silly, but this one was the absolute worst. Nothing made a tiny bit of sense here (and yet I still kinda enjoy it for it's mean-spirited cheesiness). Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge - Mostly because it's sandwitched between two great ones. Friday the 13th: A New Beginning - not for the reason most dislike it, but for the total lack of focus (these characters have NO purpose apart from dying) and poor continiuty. Ending made no sense either. Sinister 2 - Bad idea to give those annoying ghost kids so much to do. It took away everything that made the firs work.
you should review The Platform! I liked it a lot and the concept was amazing, I wanted to know your thoughts on it since it has an allegorical meaning behind it and i thought about it for days after I watched it
To be honest, I don't like the Saw movies because of it's gore and traps. I love John Kramer as a villain and even though I don't agree with him, he's just so interesting because he does. The Saw movies were always about the story and the plot for me, and I hate that they lost that and just turned them into a gorefest. I actually own a collection of all the 8 Saw movies. Problem is that they are totally cut and I don't want to watch them, because I don't want the plot to be ruined. The best movies were the first 3 and they had the least gore out of all of them
if you haven’t seen them, try creep and creep 2, they’re on netflix. it was the first time i thought a sequel was just as good as the first if not better, and they work together perfectly. they’re not hugely gory, they’re psychological, but i actually love them. mark dunlap is fantastic. and i learned recently that almost the entire movies were improvised. they were given a bare bones script to work with - you’d literally never know that from watching because the cast are so good
Favorite sequel is definitely Hellbound: Hellraiser II. Best remake is Suspiria! As a Child's Play fan who has not seen the remake I kind of love all of the sequels except for the last two oddly enough.
I know this is a horror channel which I LOVE !!!! you should do a video where you tell us your favourite movies that aren't horror that would be interesting to see , your amazing !
They didn't even get Aiko Horiuchi (Grudge 3) or Takako Fuji (the original Kayako in the Ju-on series, Grudge 1 & 2) to do the cameo which made me sad :/ I mean it might of not been possible or they didn't want to but it still would of been a really nice little tidbit to an already bad movie.
I feel like the cloverfield series has it all. The original movie is pretty good, the second one is amaze balls, the third one is terrible. Honestly I forget how gay I am when I watch Mary Elizabeth Winstead being awesome.
@veronica carlson i'm going to have to, i guess. it's just going to come as a surprise to people, especially to my exes. but i mean, it's mary elizabeth winstead. she deserves as much
final destination 4 is actually fun for me lol i loved how the characters were stereotypical but i kind of got attached to them. final destination 3 on the other hand took me 3 days to watch i just couldn't connect with any of the characters besides wendys boyfriend and best friend who died at the beginning
Spiral is actually directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, who I believe directed Saw 2-4, which gives me a lot of hope for the new Saw! Saw 2-4 were actually my favorites in the series.
Am I the only one who actually really appreciates the first Human Centipede? It really got me. Of course shock factor and all, but also just the atmosphere. The actor of the mad doc's performance...
It's like "OK, WWE needs to REALLY stop with putting wrestlers in horror; not EVERY horror film that they're in is going to be pure gold!" I mean, I prefer Warwick Davis Leprechaun over Hornswoggle Leprechaun; at least the Warwick Davis Leprechaun will be a twisted and sadistic comedian instead of a feral little arse.
Yes, I was also disappointed with it. It was a shame that it had decent directors/actors but it just felt like an Asylum Studios knock off. The set pieces in the original were really impressive - and the sequel looked like it could have been shot in any hospital/morgue closed for the day.
I absolutely love these ideas for videos! Can’t wait. For me I think my least favorite sequel is Seed of Chucky. My favorite franchise and damn they did my man dirty. But I still watch it when I marathon Child’s Play
And the 4th one still sucked. Even though the remake was technically a prequel to the first one it still wasn't that great! Final Destination 1 2 and 3 were the best.
I've been trying to find your best sequels video. If this isn't made yet, I just want to say please put this on a requested list as I'd love to watch this one!
Love the representation of hell in Hellbound. I wish they would have explored that ideology in the sequels. But I agree, the countless terrible sequels really tarnished this once great franchise
The Strangers: Prey at night is my least favorite sequel ever. The original scared me so much and I was so excited for the sequel, but there was literally nothing good about it lol
Hi Sarah!! Been a huge fan of your channel for 3-4 years! But now during the lockdown, I'm currently on a "rewatch" of most of your videos.. My watchlist is so full rn because I keep adding new films when I watch your channel. Also, during the past few weeks, i've seen lots of horror movies, and i'm really enjoying it! Just wanted to thank you bc your videos and recommendations are always spot-on! You're one of my favourite youtuber btw, I'm really glad I found your channel!
why heart cries silent tears especially during these lockdown times since Shudder isn't avaliable in Denmark yet :( but on the flip side totally agree with your video though!
Your thoughts on Silent Hill: Revelations are definitely my thoughts! Glad to hear I'm not alone. But you think Jigsaw's worse than Saw 3D? I cannot STAND Saw 3D lmaoo. And Book of Shadows is...just watch it. It's really something that needs to be seen. It's an interesting film.
I totally agree saw 3D and saw 5 are my least favorite. I liked jigsaw, I think it was a good return for the franchise. Surprisingly saw 6 is one of my favorites. I'm also excited for Spiral!
@Emily Schaefer I'm terrified of the grudge like I get nightmares on the regular and I can't even watch them anymore. However the remake i didn't jump, didn't close my eyes, and didn't plug my ears.
I agree, I dont think the human centipede is really that great. One of those kinds of movies you could enjoy watching once because of its visual gags. Also Pepe's reactions to your opinions is adorable 😍💕
15:20 agreed. I LOVE the Final Destination series because of the creative deaths. I do rent one every so often, but never The Final Destination. The third one when it was out (I was 14 I think), had my big crush in it at the time. I am definitely a fan of the franchise though.
The little cat in the background yelling out their opinions as well, really added to the video. Thank you. 😆
Olivia B the cat even looked disapproving in the thumb nail lol
That cat looks like a soccer hooligan. I love his coloring
she needs to show the kitty between her legs
Joe Smith weird

I love all of the Scream movies equally, with just the first one rated a bit higher.
For me scream 4 sucks lol
Scream 1, 2, and 4 I liked. 3 is okay in my opinion its just not very well written and the plot is messy.
The 4th one is my second favorite, then 2 and last is 3. Only thing I don't like about 3 is the voice recorder. It doesn't make sense.
Not horror related, but Shrek 2 is the best Shrek movie hands down lol

Awwww, I love your sweet, sweet kittems sidekick meowing and yawning and yearning for cuddles 😻. Gremlins 2 is the best sequel ever!
if you haven’t seen them, try creep and creep 2, they’re on netflix. it was the first time i thought a sequel was just as good as the first if not better, and they work together perfectly. they’re not hugely gory, they’re psychological, but i actually love them. mark dunlap is fantastic.
and i learned recently that almost the entire movies were improvised. they were given a bare bones script to work with - you’d literally never know that from watching because the cast are so good
I love those movies
katelyn robinson theyre legit so fucking good?
I'd like more videos with your kitty in please! Absolutely adorable!
Favorite sequel is definitely Hellbound: Hellraiser II. Best remake is Suspiria! As a Child's Play fan who has not seen the remake I kind of love all of the sequels except for the last two oddly enough.
Childs Play remake was......weird. His face was just so off. There are a couple parts that are shocking so its worth at least 1 view.
I know this is a horror channel which I LOVE !!!! you should do a video where you tell us your favourite movies that aren't horror that would be interesting to see , your amazing !
I like the haunting of Molly Hartley too. I like all the actors in it i think that’s why i watch it a lot.
Jigsaw fills me with rage at times on how it does not follow the original storyline
Speaking of Shudder, I 1) just got a new account last week and 2) find it lowkey hilarious that Escape from New York is on Shudder lol
The Last Exorcism 2? So the true title of the original should be The Next to Last Exorcism.
My biggest complaint towards the new Grudge is that if I watch a Grudge movie I wanna see Kayako!
right?? when I realized she wasn’t in it at all I realized I wasn’t actually watching a Grudge movie
@@PossessedbyHorror she had a brief cameo at the very beginning. But I agree
Your cat is so cute! Love that He tried to make you pet him When you made a thumnail! 🥰
I feel like the cloverfield series has it all. The original movie is pretty good, the second one is amaze balls, the third one is terrible. Honestly I forget how gay I am when I watch Mary Elizabeth Winstead being awesome.
But, the second movie was written having nothing to do with Cloverfield. Or is that the third one?
Or is it both? 🤣
@Black Ninja wow I've never thought about that before. I guess I'm straight now
@veronica carlson i'm going to have to, i guess. it's just going to come as a surprise to people, especially to my exes. but i mean, it's mary elizabeth winstead. she deserves as much
I feel you. It's the only reason why I watch the second one and Final destination 3. Mary has always been my female celeb crush.
I'm so happy that you uploaded!! Your videos make me happy and I always get excited when you upload
Scream Queens Season 1 is a masterpiece and iconic, let's just forget that season 2 happened
RIGHHT
AMEN 🙏🏻
I agree with you on The Final Destination, still a guilty pleasure...
final destination 4 is actually fun for me lol i loved how the characters were stereotypical but i kind of got attached to them. final destination 3 on the other hand took me 3 days to watch i just couldn't connect with any of the characters besides wendys boyfriend and best friend who died at the beginning
i agree the third one really sucked
Thanks for the detailed info. I'd like to see timestamps in the description- it just helps me keep track/outline the narrative.
Spiral is actually directed by Darren Lynn Bousman, who I believe directed Saw 2-4, which gives me a lot of hope for the new Saw! Saw 2-4 were actually my favorites in the series.
Great collection here. It will nice to see a list of Comedy-Horror movies....
I am so scared for when the remake final destination in a few decades.
They already did.
I caved and finally got shudder thanks for the promo code!!!!
love the fat cat. more of him please
Am I the only one who actually really appreciates the first Human Centipede? It really got me. Of course shock factor and all, but also just the atmosphere. The actor of the mad doc's performance...
I would add See No Evil 2. Definitely was no need for a sequel to a good horror movie
It's like "OK, WWE needs to REALLY stop with putting wrestlers in horror; not EVERY horror film that they're in is going to be pure gold!"
I mean, I prefer Warwick Davis Leprechaun over Hornswoggle Leprechaun; at least the Warwick Davis Leprechaun will be a twisted and sadistic comedian instead of a feral little arse.
Yes, I was also disappointed with it.
It was a shame that it had decent directors/actors but it just felt like an Asylum Studios knock off. The set pieces in the original were really impressive - and the sequel looked like it could have been shot in any hospital/morgue closed for the day.
@@oliversedgwick7236 Plus, it seemed to rip off the already-godawful 4th installment of the "Halloween" film franchise without remorse.
I absolutely love these ideas for videos! Can’t wait. For me I think my least favorite sequel is Seed of Chucky. My favorite franchise and damn they did my man dirty. But I still watch it when I marathon Child’s Play
For me it's probably 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation'
Your cat is an absolute unit and I’m in love with him
Technically the last Final Destination took place before the first one. So the 4th still is the Final Destination.
And the 4th one still sucked. Even though the remake was technically a prequel to the first one it still wasn't that great! Final Destination 1 2 and 3 were the best.
Final Destination 1-3, and 5 are my favs
I've been trying to find your best sequels video. If this isn't made yet, I just want to say please put this on a requested list as I'd love to watch this one!
All of these series where they go through the 3D phrase usually is around the time they lose me
Wow just found your channel and I'm obsessed, quarantine just got a lot better
Hellraiser 2 is my favorite sequel. The rest of the Hellraiser franchise the worst..
Love the representation of hell in Hellbound. I wish they would have explored that ideology in the sequels. But I agree, the countless terrible sequels really tarnished this once great franchise
I love how they set up the final destination movies. 2nd and 3rd are tied for my favorite
The Strangers: Prey at night is my least favorite sequel ever. The original scared me so much and I was so excited for the sequel, but there was literally nothing good about it lol
And Sinister 2! 😬
I love Strangers 2
I prefer strangers prey at night to the first, I think its because its more of a slasher movie
Rec 3 is one of the worst sequels I’ve seen especially when the first two are so good!
I agree Leanne ;)
why heart cries silent tears especially during these lockdown times since Shudder isn't avaliable in Denmark yet :(
but on the flip side totally agree with your video though!
Saw 3D was the worst ever. God I hated that movie so much.
I totally agree saw 3D and saw 5 are my least favorite. I liked jigsaw, I think it was a good return for the franchise. Surprisingly saw 6 is one of my favorites. I'm also excited for Spiral!
I'm glad you didnt say paranormal activity the marked ones because that one is severely underrated
The new grudge is just an abomination
@Emily Schaefer I'm terrified of the grudge like I get nightmares on the regular and I can't even watch them anymore. However the remake i didn't jump, didn't close my eyes, and didn't plug my ears.
@Emily Schaefer The only part giving me nightmares was the beginning when you see the original kayako
that chonker is adorable 😭😩
Honorable mention: The second Nightmare on Elm Street... My favorite franchise of all time but the second is trash
I know Freddys Revenge has it's fans, but I hate it too
Dream Warriors is my personal favorite. Followed closely by the original
I've never been so bored watching an Elm Street movie--Just rewatched the full series, and I was shocked just how bad it was compared to the others!
It's not great, but I rewatched this recently and didn't hate it as much as I remembered.
It had a good atmosphere though and Freddy looked awesome, plus the effects were amazing as well. Dream Child is the worst.
omg you and your cat made my day I could not stop laughing at the meowing and the interactions between you both lmaooo
RIGHT
I agree, I dont think the human centipede is really that great.
I am definitely a fan of the franchise though.
i recently watched deliver us from evil and it was one of the most unintentionally funny horror films ive seen in a while
Its uncanny how similar we are when it comes to horror movies. Great work!
