- Today we're watching/criticizing/exploring the terrible jaws sequels that somehow actually exist for real.
These range from mediocre to actual abomination, and I hope you enjoy this depressing journey - บันเทิง
2 is passable. 3d is a guilty pleasure and the Revenge is an abomination
Fully agree. 3 could have been a great story but the cheap effects ruined it. 4 has hilarious quotes but is otherwise bad beyond belief.
Revenge is worth watching for Michael Caine
Jaws 2.is a pretty fantastic slasher flick... 8/10. the same score I'd give Deep Blue Sea. better to enjoy the film as an action horror rather than a sequel to one of the.finest movies ever made
@@davidtatro7457 I consider Jaws3D a separate venture.. Jaws The Revnge is the real Jaws 3... 🧐😬😳😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
@@fynnthefox9078 that’s kinda what makes Revenge even worse for me. It has Michael Caine, and is still somehow a tragedy to watch
What the internet must realize is that in 1978, everyone wanted a jaws sequel and were pretty happy with it when it came out. In 1983, jaws 3 came out and showed a new generation a shark movie. Yes, it was bad but children loved it. Don’t ask me what happened in 1987.
'87 was just some Imbeciles with absurd imaginations, piggybacking of a relatively successful franchise.
What you didn't like the fact that a shark had a vendetta on the family so it followed them to Jamaica lol? I agree with everything you said.
Was that the shitty shark movie of 1987?
If it was '88 instead I'd say Marty McFly nailed it....
@@mttokrnkJaws the revenge (4)
The book for JAWS 2 is excellent. It ties up why there's another shark and looks at a town in ruin from the last shark. Based on an earlier script, which is darker.
That book is amazing! It's a shame they couldn't have made that movie. Jaws 2 was a good movie, but using the book version would have been better.
So why was there another shark?
Remake Jaws 2?
Jaws 2 is kinda like the Lost World: Jurassic Park where its positive-mixed bag to majority.
Even thou The Lost World is a superior film
@@andymackie8283Meg is the new jaws I suppose. Its gonna be hard to capture the magic of the og Jaws, therefore its best to just create new IP if u will hence Meg 2 The trench.
What's quite funny is that in Jaws 3D, one of the makers said that the film is “extremely realistic“ and “based on countless research“ yet they show the shark later on in the movie swimming backwards
Looks like the Makos in Deep Blue Sea weren't the first kind that Susan McCallister had experimented on
Don't forget the sharks roaring, lol. Messed me up as a little kid; I thought sharks f'ing roared for 20 years 😂.
It also growls.
Jaws 2 isn't a bad sequel at all, in fact it's a good movie and had some great scenes. The big problem they had was linking them to the Brody family. It should have moved onto a new shark and situation. Making it the Brodys everytime made it laughable.
Especially Jaws 3-D and Jaws: The Revenge.
Sharks do take things personally apparently.
A lot of sequels are tedious due to continuing emphasis on a particular lineage.... I'm thinking that Halloween 2 (Michael is Laurie's sister) and Return of the Jedi (self-explanatory) seemed to popularize this sort of thing. But the Jaws sequels were particularly ridiculous.
Alot of sequels fall into that trap. It kind of shows a long term attitude of rinse repeat in Hollywood
@@CSS-Tails_Foreverplease don’t remind of those two movies
Jaws 2 was scary! The burnt face shark was scary like a slasher villain!
Yeah, and the way that thing lunges with its mouth gaping just as its intended lunch is pulled clear of the water. That wasn't scary?
Nah it sucked
Jaws 2 is a worthy sequel. It's was never going to touch the quality of the first one, how can it, Jaws is a masterpiece. Jaws 2 holds up and is a good shark film. Of course everything is bigger, more blood and the shark should be shown more. You can't hide the shark, thats already been done. It doesn't eat a helicopter, does it. It's not perfect, but it's solid. It's a teenage slasher movie (which were popular at the time) set at sea. I like it.
I love jaws 2 I love how it was more darker and grittier
it sucks screaming teenagers.. only good bit is one scene at the start where you see the shark come into the bay
@@ajjy1110 Jaws 1 sucks as well. It was a crap, unbelievable film with shit ''special'' effects''.
@@jimbowlan5804 🦈🦈🦈
The score for Jaws 2 makes it worthwhile.
If all sequels were like jaws 2 we'd be living in sequel paradise
It sucked
The scariest thing in "Jaws: The Revenge" was Ellen Brody's hairstyle.
Was it? I fell asleep after 10 minutes.
😆
Yeah, the obviously fake shark in that movie was nowhere near as scary as Ellen Brody's hair.😂😂😂
it was so horrible, the shark screamed at the end when it rose out of the water, saw Ellen's hair for the first time... and exploded to end the horror! 😱
Oh lawd
Actually, in JAWS 2, the mayor eventually came on Brody's side. It was that real estate dude that was the obstacle this time.
There’s a deleted scene where the members at Town Hall vote on the Brody matter, and Vaughn is the only one to vote to keep him as Chief. Should have been kept in the film.
what real estate dude I just remember bla bla bla horny teens dead bla bla bla badass oneliner
Jaws 2 is actually what Spielberg's original Jaws would have been. Everyone call him a genius for not showing the shark but that was only done out of necessity. Now he definitely came up with some clever ways of showing the shark's presence without actually showing it
He would've still made it better than part 2. His body of work after Jaws speaks for itself. He's a damn good filmmaker.
@@jdxsr85 not saying he's not a talented director.... (That's undeniable)...just that if the shark had worked perfectly it would have changed the movie up quite a bit as we would have seen the shark way more frequently like we did in part 2.
💯agree.
Fortunately, Spielberg learnt 'less is more' early on in his career and also applied it to Jurassic Park. If Bruce worked, maybe Jurassic Park would have turned out different as well?
No he wouldn't. He could not have touched Jaws 2. Look at the POS that his Jurassic Park sequel was. It blew.@@jdxsr85
Jaws 2 felt like a true sequel. It started the horny teens trope and is a rehash. I didn't mind it.
The teens were doing nothing but screaming, freaking out, fighting with each other, and acting like idiots. The crew in Jaws 1 were more calm and daring, like they were battling Moby Dick without fear. Jaws 1 will always be the best.
In my opinion Jaws is a cinematic masterpiece, Jaws 2 is watchable, Jaws 3 was a film I really liked as a kid for reasons that are now beyond my comprehension, and Jaws The Revenge is a complete and utter fucking joke. Great video mate. 👍
It was just the shark, be honest 😂
No, it's not watchable, it's a great movie. I count 1 and 2 in the same class.
@KimmyHennesy Seriously? Don't get me wrong, Jaws 2 isn't a bad film, but I've never heard of anybody saying it's up there with the original. Jaws is a legit masterpiece, whereas Jaws 2 is just a decent enough monster movie about a killer shark. It's cool that you love it though. 👍
In reviews of Jaws 2, I keep hearing "The shark eats a helicopter." The shark does not EAT THE HELICOPTER!! The shark clamps its teeth on the helicopter and drags it under the water !
Yes it pops the float. It's attracted to it due to the vibrations of the blades. It doesn't attack it for no reason.
I saw the same thing you saw
Doesn't eat anything
"Eat" as in _chew_ not "eat" as in _digest._
The shark killed the helicopter!😂
"You're almost relieved when one of them (the Jaws 2 teenagers) get killed."
Actually, that teenager who got killed saving Sean was the least annoying one on that trip and her death is NOT a relief!
Overall, I've always liked Jaws 2, whilst acknowledging it has big originality issues. Great action scenes though.
As inferior as Jaws 2 is, seeing Sean having to watch someone get killed right in front of him felt legit messed up though not on par with early death scenes from the first one.
I certainly would've traded Jackie for Marge. Or Bob, who was supposed to die also but they needed to lower the body count for a PG rating.
I always feel really bad when she gets killed.
I don't like the part where they where all stuck and that one girl just kept screaming. I fast forward that part when I watch it lol.
It started the teen slasher genre, pretty original.
Jaws 2: "this movie is bad because it doesn't do what the first did"
Aliens: "this movie is good because it doesn't do what the first did"
the thing I noticed about the banana boat attack, is that no one even cared about the woman that got killed, all anyone was concerned with was that the one little girl was safe. In J-2 Marge's death was sad because she died a hero, putting little Sean to safety. The two saddest deaths in the franchise were Marge and Quint.
You didn't care about Sean Brody getting killed when he was out getting that log unstuck?
@@Roger-hp1yg No. Because everything that followed was shit. Also, his death was stupid.
But the saddest death in any Jaws movie is very obviously Alex's.
@@925263noooooo!! That was Pipin the dog!!! 😩😩
Quint kind of brought it on himself by smashing the radio and leaving them stranded...
I think part of Quint's reason for smashing the radio was that he was a little fed up with Brody wimping out. Quint was on a mission, no matter the risk, and Brody kept wanting a bigger boat in other words, wanting to quit.
The shark doesn't "eat a helicopter". It capsizes it, like it would a boat.
And in real life, sharks don't attack helicopters.
Jaws 2 is essentially a slasher film with a shark and I kind of love it .
3D is a complete Guilty pleasure , as I watched it so much as a child .
Let's just pretend revenge didn't happen 😂
SEAN IS ALIVE!
Lol
It started the teen slasher genre.
Yeah, there's never more than the 3 films, the good one (1st), the ok one (2nd) and the sorta goofy, but still kinda watchable one (3rd)
The first Jaws was just pure magic. Spielburg was a part of that magic, along with the trio of Shaw, Dreyfuss and Sheider.
Jaws 2 isn't a terrible sequel, sure it ain't no masterpiece like the first but Jaws 2 still had incredible scenes, great performances, and some suspense! It's a decent sequel, Jaws 3-D & Jaws: The Revenge are abominations!
Agreed
The shark ate a helicopter.
@@cliffg.4205 yeah & so?
Still a fun sequel.
@@cliffg.4205 While it technically brought down a helicopter, it didn't eat it. Given the weight of Bruce the Shark White variants it likely wasn't as hard as you think it might be and the Bruce Whites were more or less sentient animals like Orcas.
@@cliffg.4205 It didn't eat a helicopter dude, it pulled it under the water. A bit of a difference there!!
I enjoyed Jaws 2 the most growing up because I was able to relate more with the younger characters and the special effects were exceptional for those days.
Something that makes Jaws: The Revenge an even more sad and depressing movie: The child actress who plays Ellen Brody's grandaughter was murdered, along with her mother, by her father roughly a year after the film was released. Mankind's greatest threat isn't viruses or cancer or sharks. Mankind's greatest threat is mankind. We can be angels, yes. But we can also be the worst monsters you can imagine.
Really? That's so sad. Poor child😢
Another thing that makes mankind monsters at times is that we tend to treat animals cruel either by poaching or experimentation or logging, or even we are too greedy to the point we fight ourselves in war which only leads to destruction of property and environment and harm to many species.
How true ,
So, was the father apprehended?
One of my favorite movie quotes is from Terminator 2… when young John Connor asks the terminator “we’re not gonna make it are we? People, I mean.” And T2 replies, “it’s in your nature to destroy yourselves.”
Truer words…..
I really like Jaws 2, and it had one of the most memorable taglines of any film.
I think jaws 2 was actually a good movie, it doesn't deserve to be grouped in with 3 and 4
I agree they should have ended the jaws movie right there just like Terminator 2 .
@@keithwiggins299 completely agree
It's not good at all-it's EXCELLENT. Best sequel EVER, a title it now shares with a film from 2003, but even that took 25 years to be made. In fact I saw it before the 1st and I rate it over the 1st as it's in my Top 5 fave movies of all time. 'Jaws' is excellent, but this is even more special.
@kyachdistent1301 agree with you, jaws 2 soundtrack was also killer on another note I believe aliens was better than the original. There are a few sequels out there that stand the test of time
Without Jaws 2, there would be no teen slasher movies, it started an entire genre.
What is depressing about how routine 'Jaws 2' turned out is the sheer amount of hard work, thought and innovation that went into the physical production of the film. I saw an interview with director Jeannot Swarc (during the filming) in which he wonderfully articulated exactly how 'Jaws' had succeeded and how any sequel would be misguided to attempt to copy that. So no shortage of insight or knowledge and what we got was a by the numbers, padded and very flat film.
Jaws 2 could not match the classic that was Jaws, but it is a good sequel. The shark attacks are well staged, with some good setpieces and Roy Scheider giving a good performance, being more paranoid and then going to rescue his kids, the mayor has a good redeeming moment (being the one to vote against the dismissal of Brody - a deleted scene that should have been left in). One of the problems is that it is more tame (almost no blood and deleted death scenes to obtain a PG rating), but it is watchable and well made.
Jaws 3D had great potential to be a fun sequel with the possibilty of great setpieces in the new park setting. In fact the script is not bad (better than those of 2 and 4), but the direction is lackluster failing to genereate tension in the attacks and the effetcs were rushed and bad. But the 3d is in fact very good (and the bluray in 3d worth watching).
Jaws The Revenge had better direction than 3, with some effective sequences (Sean's death, the chase in the sunken ship and the attack on the banana boat) but the story is too absurd. The original ending was better (with the shark impaled instead of exploding).
I remember my dad telling me about how he saw Jaws 3D in the cinema back in the day, and complaining about how cheesy it was! Specifically he remembered "the girl bursting out of the water with dolphins and going 'YES!'"
Jaws 2 is in an unfortunate position. It is nowhere the masterpiece pt. 1 was, but it also gets unfairly maligned for the crime of how bad 3 and 4 were. If the franchise stopped with 2, I don't think most people would be trashing it.
For me
Jaws: 5
Jaws 2: 3 1/2
Jaws 3D: 2
Jaws The Revenge: 1
3D is technically a 1 but some of the camp value bumps it up to a 2 for me
5??? Isn’t that a mediocre rating ??
@@Cousinbiddy1 Not if it's out of 5.
The teenagers are super-annoying and are probably the main reason for people trashing the first sequel. But it has its moments... the rowboat attack, the photographic reveal of a shark's eye, Brody wading deeper and deeper into the ocean, where an unpleasant surprise is waiting. Those are all well-directed sequences.
Jaws 2 is a decent movie in terms of plot and pace. It's major detraction is that you already know what the shark looks like, so it's not as suspenseful. It's still a good movie, in my opinion (: 3 & 4 are goddamn jokes, though... Good video! 👍
I’ll never apologize for my love of Jaws 2
If they stopped at jaws 2 they could’ve made a jaws revival movie now, like they did with too gun maverick, that would be epic and obviously only if they brought back Spielberg to direct it
They could still do that. This is the age of retcons and legacy sequels, so they could just ignore 2, 3, and 4, and make a direct sequel to the first... but really, they should leave well enough alone.
@@ExplorerDS6789 that would be good, I mean it would be ok for it to be a direct sequel to Jaws 2.
They would screw it up. Half the cast would be race-swapped and the shark itself would be CGI. It would be freaking terrible.
@@southernfried19 if the situation was how I described it, I think it could be good, Spielberg doesn’t do the woke trend
@@ExplorerDS6789 That would be the stupidest thing ever. You'd never come close to topping Jaws 2, so there would be no point at all.
Jaws 2 is absolutely fine, still enjoyable after all these years
How is Jaws II terrible? I thought it was more than okay
Look at the audience rating on rotten tomatoes then , and u will why lol
Yes it was a huge blockbuster and a big deal when it made its tv debut. A decent movie that suffers in comparison to the original. I'd give it a 6/10 or even 7/10 if I'm feeling generous.
It has some genuinely good performances from Scheider, Gary and Hamilton, an excellent score and some nicely directed suspense sequences.
The other two were terrible. Jaws 2 never was.
@@Cousinbiddy1 Well, if you base the quality of a movie on what others say and don't have your own opinion. So far, you're the only one on this thread trashing it. Maybe when it was originally released, everyone compared it to the first movie. I thought it was good. 3 and 4 were truly an awful waste of precious time.
They should have put that on the promotional poster: "More than okay!" 😄
@@Cousinbiddy1Alot of good movies have bad scores on rotten tomatoes.
Well, you call the FOURTH movie (Revenge) stupid for having that plot point about the shark STALKING the Brody family, however I think that having the BRODY's in EVERY movie in the series was what was ALREADY stupid in the FIRST PLACE, especially in the third movie (where they're grown adults living in a completely different location). Therefore, I really don't hold THAT against that fourth film, cause it was almost like an EXPLANATION, of some kind, was NEEDED at THAT point. I mean, were audiences supposed to be just left thinking that this ONE PARTICULAR FAMILY just kept repeatedly running afoul of these ABNORMALLY BIG SHARKS by pure COINCIDENCE? . .. yeah, THAT's much more plausible!
Jaws 2 wasn't that bad sequel. Although the shark didn't attack the beach this time.
Jaws 4 was so bad that plans for a legacy sequel are still nonexistent to this day.
Be grateful for small mercies, I guess
Jaws 2 is decent, I like the overall premise, and the action is pretty good.
Jaws 2 isn't terrible. I really enjoyed it and I remember it mostly when I watched it as a kid back them. Definitely a worthy sequel. 3 was eh... but Jaws The Revenge was definitely bad 😅
I loved Jaws Revenge as a kid, I got it on VHS for Christmas and watched it over and over. I had no idea until recently it’s considered one of the worst movies ever made, I enjoy it far more than 3D, I struggle to get through that one, Jaws 2 is good, but obviously none of them match the greatness of the original.
It’s honestly way better than 2-3
@@Spearz5I don't care you don't have a father okay rip bozo
Same here I never realized people hated Jaws 4. I love it and still watch it at least once a year. Especially on Christmas
Jaws 2 isn't actually that bad! It has some pretty hair raising moments! The scene of the shark POV chasing the waterskier is amazing! Marge's death is quite horrific despite no blood being shown! There's a great use of psychological horror (After Eddie is killed and Tina stares helplessly at the broken frame) the scuba divers exploring the reef just before the shark goes after the teens! And of course, pulling Mike Brody out of the water!! The audience reaction to that scene is pure screaming!!
I saw part 2 long before 1 as a kid and it was great
Me too haha. I will always love Jaws 2. So nostalgic.
The original will always be superior, but I still enjoy 2. I was obsessed with it as a kid. Absolutely loved the setting of Amity Island. One of the most memorable moments for me was when Tina and Eddie are running on the beach and discover the Orca carcass. Such beautiful scenery.
The Jaws franchises is the only one I know of where the shark jumps the shark.

J-4 at least has a few good ideas and moments. J-3D doesn't have anything in its favour.
I only have this to mention. As Dalton puts it in Roadhouse - opinions vary. First two were good, 3 & 4 were failures.
Jaws 2 is not an horrendous sequel. It’s a bloody good film on its own. Sure it’s no jaws but what would be. What the hell man.
As others have said, Jaws 2 isn't so bad, but Jaws 3 and Jaws: The Revenge are utterly awful!
Jaws 2 is decent sequel. I enjoyed it. But there is nothing like the original.
Having just rewatched Jaws 2, the biggest issue with it is that absolutely no one is aware of the shark's existence, aside from Brody. In Jaws, events lead up to the third act of three men setting out to kill the shark. In Jaws 2, nothing leads up to the third act. It's just another Tuesday and some teenagers decided to go sailing.
True,it doesn’t have the strong structure of the original.
And the reaction from the mayor and his colleagues when Brody tells them is ridiculous. So badly written.
@@mrkos87 No, that reaction was very realistic, and that scene is easily the best part of the movie. This critique is nonsense.
Matt Hooper was GREATLY missed in Jaws 2's plot when it came to the whole "no one believes Brody".
Jaws 2 is a good sequel.
Jaws 2 was scary! The helicopter scene was very scary!
I remember there a Pysch flashback and the kid was afraid to go into the water but his dad couldn't take it seriously because his fears stemmed not from watching Jaws but Jaws 4.
My favorite part of jaws 2 is when Matrin tells Mayor Vaughn they may have another shark problem and at the end of the coversation Vaughn tells Martin "don't push it this time" as though Martin had been wrong aboit the shark the first time!
It's a shame they cut out the scene where the Mayor actually defends Brody to the town council and tries to save his job.
I’ve always enjoyed JAWS 2 because you can see that they TRIED to make a good sequel. The problem is that the first is such a masterpiece it was going to be impossible to do. That’s why I think that JAWS 2 is a step above the bad monster movies (BMM’s) of the 70’s. In modern terms, 2 steps above something like Sharknado or those other Syfy monster movies.
The less said about 3 and Revenge, the better. THAT’s solid BMM territory.
Sharknado was bad on purpose, though. It's a comedy, so I don't count it.
@katrinamillings3651
But Sharknado is not funny or even entertaining. It's just cheap crap.
I literally laughed the entire time you were explaining jaws the revenge. Made me realize that yeah its a dumb movie 😂
Me too 😅
i actually saw jaws 4 the revenge at the movie theater back in 1987 ! terrible film ... :)
Steven speilberg actually said he really liked jaws 2, only ussue was with casting the mayor. For one, as if he'd still be mayor after what he caused in first movie and then does the same thing in the 2nd AGAIN!!
Michael Caine on "Jaws The Revenge": "Somebody said to me, 'I saw that Jaws 4. It stinks,. I haven't seen it, but I have seen the house it bought my mother, and it's marvelous!”
Jaws 3D made me have a panic attack aged 12 on a school trip at Seaworld in France 😂
I completely forgot about the film until i started walking through the underwater tunnel and a shark swan above me.
Kaws 3D came flooding back to my memories lol
Every aquarium I have visited that has sharks, has scared the crap out of me because of that movie. Indoor swimming pools too but that is probably due more to Thunderball.😆
@@lorrainem.swartzentruber3077 yeahh James Bond makes me panic a little in swimming pools.
I have checked for trap doors a few times 🤣...just in case
Jaws 2 wasn't "Jaws", but it wasn't bad at all. I've seen Jaws 3-D as Jaws III on TV. At least Jaws III was a better version because it didn't have the 3-D crap. in it. Jaws the Revenge shouldn't have been made.
I absolutely hate all three of the sequels but man you acted like there wasn’t a single thing that worked in them which is insane to me. There are three small things that I really liked about them (which if I can only find three small things that I thought were good about them then that alone should effectively show how bad these sequels are). Firstly as someone with PTSD I loved what they did with Chief Brody in Jaws 2. For a film from 1978 it’s kind of shocking that this was done so well. His elevated fear of water, the beach shooting scene, his irrationality about this shark being out for revenge even though the new shark turning up was just a really unlucky coincidence, etc. It’s great. And wow is it hard to watch the aforementioned beach shooting scene. Seeing how afraid everyone is of him really shows how people reacted to PTSD then and sadly still do now. Secondly I love that in Jaws 4 Mrs. Kintner from the first film is seen as one the women who was there to comfort Ellen after Sean was killed. She went from hating Ellen’s husband and blaming him for her son’s death to realizing it wasn’t his fault and being a friend to Ellen after she lost her son to a shark attack like she had years prior. It was touching. I just wish it was expanded upon more than it was. And finally the way they handled Ellen’s reaction to her son’s death. It was heartbreaking. In such a bad and campy film it’s pretty incredible that this was done so well (most of which is probably due to Lorraine Gary’s stellar performance). As for Jaws 3? Yeah there’s not a single thing I like about that film. It’s just horrendous in its entirety.
That “money, money, money in my pocket” part had me rollin 😆🤣 because that perfectly represents how and why unnecessary sequels are made. Movies that have no way of justifying its existence other than money, money, money in my pocket. 🤣
You're certifiable you know that? You're certifiable!!!
But I'll tell you this........!
“Except for Quinn cuz he’s dead” and them immediately cutting to the scene of Quinn in the sharks mouth getting dragged down made me laugh so fucking hard 😂😂😂
Jaws 2 was good in its own way. Nothing could touch the original though. Now 3 & 4 were so bad, they were embarrassing!
I think if 3 wasn’t in 3d and had good effects it would be pretty decent
_BAHAJAWS_ was right there!
The 1st one did have me eyeing the bathtub drain for awhile; that's as close to the ocean I'd been at that point lol
I saw the original Jaws as a child - I mean elementary school-age child - and that film left me terrified... of the dark.
I could go swimming or to the beach and not even remember the film, but I was afraid of the *dark* for a couple days after watching Jaws...
I was a weird kid; especially considering I then went on to like Jaws and its horrible video game adaptations - and this was still in elementary school!
*Weird* kid...
See, Alien did it for me regarding the dark, Jaws made me afraid of public swimming pools... I could wade in a river no problem... But for some stupid reason, my stupid kid brain associated a giant shark that was probably bigger than the swimming pools and would be super easy to spot in them if it somehow was in there.... As a valid threat in public swimming pools.... Granted, this was well before the pools were closed because of AIDS, but... Still.
I have an NES, and a few years back I saw the Jaws game. Being a jaws fan I bought it. One of the worst games I’ve ever played on NES
I'm 20, and I actually never saw Jaws until just 2 years ago, and neither did my mom, crazy as it may sound. However, my dad saw on TV as a kid, when he and his family moved to America.
"You're gonna need a bigger barf bag" is comedy gold and needs acknowledged.
You forgot about Jaws 19 which was released in 2015! Anyway jaws 2 is just a meh movie. Jaws 3 and 4 are boring and stupid. I never knew about the wasted potential that is jaws 3, jaws 3 humans 0 sounds interesting. And Jaws 4 is also bland, boring and bad. If I remember correctly didn't jaws 4 had different shark deaths depending on a version (one with that boat stick impalement causing a balloon like explosion and the other being just reused footage of jaws 1 shark death)? The shark psychic connection plot was funny, it reminded me of the dog flashbacks in Wes Craven's hills have eyes 2.
Jaws 19: This time it's really, really personnal.
Love how they were fine with reusing the same pose, but couldn’t even be bothered keeping the shark’s design consistent.
All i remember of Jaws 4 was the banana scene which made me afraid of getting on a banana boat when I was a kid, awesome video my man, deserves more views!
Yes, the banana scene was good and scary.
Can we all agree that Brody carrier jaws 1 and jaws 2?!
Jaws 3 and jaws 4. Nah. Just no. Go away.
There’s a Jaws boxset which contains Jaws 2, 3 and 4 but not the original. So you can marvel at the dumpster fire sequels but skip the amazing first movie. A real winner 👍
Yep. It’s like a 3-pack for $10.
im glad I own it
I have that box set. I thought I was buying 1-3 and got so mad at myself for not reading more carefully when I got it home, lol.
Yeah, I'm not getting that.
Because they literally already have Jaws 4k available and the 4k of 2, 3D and Revenge don't come out until later
1:09 Bro Spiral is underrated and the Strangers prey at night is amazing
Jaws 2 is decent, the rest after that I agree with, especially Jaws the revenge, truly completely incompetent and truly dreadful
Jaws 2 isn’t that bad, honestly. It’s actually kinda decent. The rest (Jaws 3 and 4) can suck it, though.
Jaws 2 isn't bad, fair enough it's not as good as 1 which is a classic, but it's a worthwhile watch, that I enjoy
👍
When I was a Kid my brother lied to me and said sharks could roar to prove it he showed me Jaws 4 just a fun dumb kid memory .
Jaws 2 isn't terrible. It's not on the same level as the original Jaws bit it's very good
Dude, fantastic work. I love Jaws and you showed some information about the sequels I never knew. Also thank you for pointing out that scene with the mayor in the first one. I feel alot of folks miss that part. The mayor being so dismissive to whats happening only to come to his senses after watching people die. The thought that his own childern could have been taken from him on that beach. You so rarely see a character act so human after being so greedy.
J4 is the one they showed on tv the most growing up so the one I watched the most, outside of the original and always looked forward to watching it on TV, it wasn't until the recent internet years that I discovered it was considered bad.
I find it funny how Revenge doesn't even acknowledge the 3rd movie's existence 😂
I like Jaws 2 , it takes a lot to beat the original... job well done.
As for Jaws 3 and revenge....
that taints 2
Jaws has been my favorite movie for as long as I can remember, basically as soon as I learned how to use the VCR on my own as a toddler. I never felt the same way about any of the sequels. I don't even own the sequels, that's honestly how boring they are to me. The first one makes you feel things, but the sequels honestly just put me to sleep.
I loved Jaws 2
Me too
*Shark bursts out of the water*
Michael Caine: [in dry line delivery] "Oh shit!"
As an 80s kid, Jaws 2 was equally, if not more, terrifying than the original. I was legitimately traumatized by these films and I’m still afraid of the ocean.
I know I’m rambling about something not relevant to this video, BUT JURASSIC PARK 3 IS UNDERRATED
I loved JAWS the revenge! Saw it twice in theaters. It’s a bad film! Yet I’ll watch it when I catch it on tv
1:06 oh come on, JP3 isn’t that bad. At the very least, it’s billions of times better than Independence Day 2
Jaws 2 is one of the most great sequels on cinema history! Please!❤
FACTS
Aliens? Terminator 2? The lost world? The dark knight?
@@clamcrewcarclub6017 He said 'one of'. That does not exclude any of these.
25:38 You think the shark sounds like a lion? It always sounded more like the Bumble snow monster from Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer to me. LMAO 🤣🤣🤣
They was one movie, Jaws. The rest were trash.
Jaws 2 was always a favorite when I was a kid; would've called it a true sequel at the time (obviously not knowing who Spielberg was)
It was my favourite one when I was young. I wanted to see the shark a lot. Simple as that.
It was only once I got older that I realised just how much of a masterpiece the first one was.
3% of Jaws the Revenge is dope - the banana boat scene specifically. 96% of it is atrocious. 1% gets a 👍🏻 just for Michael Caine
And nothing for Judith Barsi?
Its hilarious how everyone cries about how he couldn't accept his Oscar because he was filming Jaws The Revenge. Meanwhile HE who really is the only person who matters has said, that he didn't care that he couldn't, he's never watched the movie but he has seen the house he purchased with the money he was paid for the role.
@@AGPfan I would have given Jaws The Revenge a 1/10 initially, but Michael Caine & Judith Barsi pushed it up to 3/10…..I loved their brief interaction on the plane flight, an established great actor & a budding young great actress rubbing shoulders together!
2 wasn’t all that bad. Not sure why it gets so much hate. 3 was bad due to the 3D BS back than. However, I could have seen something like 3 happen. Revenge was just on its own really.
So awesome to see so many people defending the underrated sequel that is Jaws 2. Yes, it was a cash grab. Yes, it didn’t really need to exist. And yes, just like the first, its production was plagued with issues. Most notably between Jeannot and Roy. But damnit, it came out a tense and taught thrill ride of an adventure. It very cleverly cashed in on the slasher craze that was taking over the horror scene at the time and John Williams score this time around is FAR MORE POLISHED than his work on the first.
This narrator obviously was not even around when Jaws 2 came out so he doesn’t know the feeling of the time, the buzz in the air. The excitement this film caused. The Lines at the theater.
‘Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water’! That trailer was freaking scary!
The other two films, he’s right they were terrible. Shameless cash grabs. But, Jaws Two, fit the time period it was shown in. Today? Campy and Silly but in 1978, I couldn’t go into the ocean for years!
They should have stopped after the second one. The third and fourth one stunk! Jaws 2 had more jump scares than the original.
