I love this era so much . This is a treat for us basketball fans . The competition and how many stars and teams are showing out each year. It has been a different matchup and winner each year so far. The only teams to go to more than one finals this era has been heat and celtics. No one has gone back to back or won yet. Celtics may end that but who knows let’s see.

No one has been more disappointing post-covid than the 76ers. I wasn’t particularly high on them but never would have dreamed they still wouldn’t have made it out of the 2nd round once. Time to pull the plug on the process, move Embiid and restart with your young core, because it’s pretty obvious that it’s just not meant to be.

Lebron, Steph, KD still playing at a high level right next to players who will by then be considered all time greats like Giannis, Luka, Jokic. The fact that Wemby and Lebron played together will be a connective piece of tissue between generations that people will look back on in awe as Wemby’s career is ending. The people who are growing up watching the game now will talk about that like it’s legend with the same nostalgia that we talk about seeing Kobe and MJ play together or Dirk and Tim Duncan and Kobe and Shaq during the 2000s. You just don’t see it now because we’re all old. Nobody remembers jack shit about the 70s besides like, Kareem. This is probably a bit closer to the early 2000s post MJ

Fans are officially sick of the 3 point revolution, the retirement of legends looms over the league, parity is at its strongest since the 70s, player and coach movement is posting turnover numbers higher than burger king, you could argue the top 5 players are all international with the best prospect and player being unconventional foreign bigs, memphis vs minnesota is considered a prime time matchup, people are out here with airless basketballs, nobody can watch all the games legally to the point even lebron was caught on streameast, highlight junkies and bad twitter discourse created their own societies of fans who don't even watch games, network sports media is basically dead, injuries are more common than ever, sportsbetting has exploded, the sixers still haven't made round 3, the usa no longer smokes the world at the Olympics even with top nba talent, all star weekend barely exists anymore, teams take pull up jumpers in transition instead of layups, the wnba and womens college hoops have hit the mainstream, lethalshooter is shooting gummy bears into water bottles against robots, and it seems like nobody knows wtf is going to happen in the rest of the decade. There's no consistent storyline of champions or clear face of the league. It seems like I've said a bunch of negative things, but I'm very very interested in seeing where the sport goes from here.
Other than all the 3s I enjoy the 2020s. In the 2010s we knew who was going to make it to the finals every year. I didn’t enjoy watching Miami and golden state blow teams out by 40pts every night. I didn’t enjoy LeBron obviously getting to the finals every year with barely any competition in the eastern conference. I can’t believe ppl actually miss watching that type of basketball. The 2020s have a balance of young players all around the league now every team has a fair chance of getting to the finals. The stunt KD and lebron pulled broke the nba now we are in a reset .
