    Nice.
All of the used oils and hydraulic fluids I collect at home I catch as clean as possible in a catch can I keep sealed in double trash bags. When full, I pour the 15 qts into 5-qt oil jugs I save from new oil/fluid changes. I let the jugs sit for at least 90 days and then slowly pour off the top 4 quarts. The last quart has the settled solids or contamination in it.
I mix 3 gal of the clean used oil with gasoline nearly 1:1 in 5 gallon fuel cans and shake for 1 minute, and put two 5-gallons cans into a 3/4 full tank of diesel. My 2005 Ram diesel has a 40 gallon tank. This makes a mix of about 15% used oils. It seems to run fine Winter and Summer. I do change my fuel filter a little sooner than typical, about every 10,000 miles, rather than 15,000.
The dirty oil left in each jug i combine again and let settle another 90 days and repeat. The 2nd time I pour off the top and use the remainder as chain-lube and make two-cycle fuel for my chainsaw, and some start my wood boiler at night.
It's a cheap and easy way to get rid of collected fluids, have a little free fuel, and not waste anything either. Peace

Some truckers pour the used engine oil from when they do oil changes right into their diesel fuel tanks.

hi i chock my IBC tank so it leans to the tap bottom this allows the sludge to settle at that end easier to clean rather than sit on the whole bottom

And for those that are using this method for homemade diesel fuel for their diesel heater, 1 gallon of gas per 2 gallons of used motor oil will make a Webasto diesel heater or a Chinese diesel heater run amazing

If you want to pay for it and get the negative effects of ethenol. If you don't want to use stale gas use fresh gas which is low % ethanol and cheaper.

If you look for places that sell used commercial cooking equipments - they might have the filter pumps used to pump used to pump cooking oil to filter fryer oil -
You want the gear type pump -
Use a small hose for w suction hose - I use a 3/8 ID suction hose and 3/4 discharge on mine - those pumps work good - I've used one to pump oil for 40 yrs

When I was making my own fuel like this I looked into testing.
      1. Nobody I ever have talked to has had their tank dipped
      2. Even if they did you are allowed to make your own fuel for personal use. As long as it isn’t red it shouldn’t be an issue.

Mixing oil with gas by means of the electric drill is not a good idea. The drill produces sparks internally which ignite the gas vapor that comes out of the tank......BOOOOM 💥

I would rather just pay the price for clean diesel, and put fuel additive to lube My 215hp P7100, injectors, and cylinder walls. I would rather the motor oil be recycled into new motor oil, that I give away for nothing, and now pay a damn fortune for. 😂

    • @able880
      @able880 ปีที่แล้ว

Used motor oil is sold as bunker C fuel oil after it's partly filtered - also marine diesel is generally 30% used motor oil or tar & 70% diesel - the EPA disposal of used oil is to burn it - I worked in the oil industry for yrs -
We blended old oil and plastic into marine diesel lol

It's stale gas so not enough fumes to light, and for oil or Diesel to ignite, you'll need a continuous flame, not sparks. Basic science, kiddo.
