Come on man... The trailer was pretty clear... As Vitiate said: "...you will have nothing.[...] Your entitlement, the pain you endure." Arcann was simply sick of the way Vitiate scoffs at the losses they took. Flies into a frenzy to show him the weight of the losses, only to be thought this weight by Vitiate, without even raising an eyebrow. The weight of losing your brother, to your own hands.
I absolutely adore the concept of the Eternal Empire. Just the way they came out of nowhere and stomped both the Jedi and the Sith at the same time is so cool. Plus the armor design for the Knights of Zakuul is so refreshing when compared to thousands of years of 'just copy the Mandalorians'.

The Eternal Empire were in the Unknown Region, a huge area of space that still haven't explored. This vast region of space were full of treacherous anomalies that can endanger the lives for those going blind in hyperspeed. Add up that there are no mapped hyperspace routes, roadmaps that helped in navigating through the galaxy.

What truly breaks my heart is the way Thexan could have slammed Arcann into a wall but instead chose to pull him back to his side. You can see when Arcann lands that Thexan didn't draw his saber until Arcann spun and attacked him! Such a tragedy

It's kind of why I do like The Acolyte. I feel it is inspired from KoToR I and II as well as SWTOR. I get that it's not popular online to like The Acolyte, but I do.

I've seen this trailer a lot of times, but i had never noticed that, in the moment that Arcann attacks Darth Vitiate and we see him turning his back on his son... he smiles. It's almost imperceptible, but his mouth changes a bit as he is perfectly conscious that one of his sons has finally fell in complete darkness
possessed by Darth Vitiate Vitiate disappeared in the aftermath of the Ziost massacre, only to reappear as Valkorion, the leader of a hidden Eternal Empire in Wild Space. Unbeknownst to the rest of the galaxy, Vitiate had spent the last several centuries forging a new society on the planet Zakuul, and even had three children, Arcann, Thexan, and Vaylin.
I think too he was happy one of his sons finally showed ambition. He seemed disappointed they relied on each other throughout their struggles. But, in that moment one of them finally acted on their own. In the aftermath it's the only time we ever hear him acknowledge one of them as his son. The symbolism is also great with Acann always being helped up by Thexan, but in his final moments, Thexan reaches out to Arcann only to have his hand slip out of his.

@@antonyduhamel1166 I think it depends on if they acted alone or together. If they co-operated, I feel he would have still been disappointed. However, even if they did act out separately, while he wouldn't be disappointed, it would be inevitable that they strike out against each other as their ambition grows. Whether or not Valkorion would wait that long or lend a helping hand to stoke the flames we may never know.

I am a twin (irl) with a father it seems too that could never be proud of his sons. what we did was never enough. it puts tears in my eyes everytime i watch this trailer. Extremely powerful and one of the most powerful crushing cinematics for SW.
2:16 I like how Thexan gives an uncomfortable look at his brother, he seems worried as he's sensing the darkness grow in him. After losing his arm and getting his face burned, Arcann became more ruthless and merciless. Thexan didn't like it.
Thexan seems to be strongest when defending his brother. I don't think he cared much for his dad but he did not expect Arcann to kill him while he was defending his dad.
I agree it should be a movie but saying these digital character models with zero dialogue are actors is just silly. One of the biggest problems with the new movies is their dialogue and that isn't an actor's fault, it's the writers. The best actors on earth can only do so much with a shit script.
Always loved how Thexan is portrayed as the superior of the twins. He was better in the arena, built his lightsaber first and didn't get half his body blown up in war. But he was also more compassionate and loyal, to Arcaan especially, and that was what got him killed when he put himself between his brother and Valkorion.

He, himself wasn't trying to kill Arcaan, he was only trying to stop him from doing something he'd regret. Probably thought he could calm him down/talk some sense into him right until he took that lightsaber through the midsection.
One very cool touch is that, despite Thexan being the one with "Sith black", he's never dirty or has tears in his outfits while Arcaan is visibly dirty, full of dust and obviously his huge injury in battle. Thexan, despite being the superior twin and the more "Sith-like", was the one with Jedi levels of being calm and collected.

If they did it and managed to pull it off successfully it would probably make millions if not more. Because it would show how much more terrifying the sith at their peak used to be. Palpatine pales in comparison to the likes of the Sith of old. Vitiate made him look like an amateur comparatively, he did run his empire effectively I’ve actually looked into that because I’m a nerd. He ran it fairly effectively all things considered.

Easily the best Star Wars cinematic ever made. I still nearly form tears when the brothers eyes go from Sith back to normal when he realizes what it is he has done.
Orchestrated by Vitiate. He tore the brothers apart to see which one would come out on top. At least, that's what I believe. Arcann was always eager to please his father and earn his approval, while Thexan cared far less about that. He was loyal, sure, but he wasn't craving any affection or praise from Vitiate. The bond he had with his brother was enough for him. Vitiate gave them a life of war, fighting and constant strife and the brothers coped with all of it, because they had each other. The only chink in their armor was Arcann's desperate need for Vitiate's approval. And so Vitiate purposely denied him that. He pushed them further and further until finally Arcann snapped and lashed out... at the wrong target. His rage was aimed at Vitiate, but redirected to Thexan and he struck him down in a fit of rage. And in so doing, he removed the only positive and stabilizing influence he had in his life. His own brother, who had always been there for him, in his darkest moments. Now he was gone at the hands of Arcann himself and all he has left is the darkness. WIthout Thexan, his last remaining blip of light is gone and Vitiate is free to play him like a puppet without interference from anyone or anything that can threaten that control.
I'm here after the third episode of The Acolyte to cleanse my pallet of whatever god awful dribble I just witnessed. This 4:12 trailer has a better story than that show could ever hope to achieve.
SWTOR trailers, and this one in particular, are true classics and I'm glad to see justice done to them with these remasters. With but a few minutes and scenes, they better encapsulate the spirit of Star Wars than most main line SW movies.
I love that you can see Valkorian smile at 3:04 and then you see his Sith eyes at 3:46. Brilliant little details like this make these trailers better than the sequel trilogy.
This was clearly made by people who cared and adored Star Wars as much as we did. Now, *sigh*, Star Wars is run by Disney. Ever since they let politics influence their production, their quality has quickly degraded, and they wonder why no one will watch their products anymore. And yet, they blame us, the fans, for why the show got the reception it did.
Recall how you felt watching this for the first time and then imagine it's a special prelude to an upcoming Star Wars film. No need for big names or the resurrection of characters to compensate for mediocre storytelling. Just imaginative visuals, an original, new faction, and emotionally gripping, poetic storytelling. Young fans would immediately know the difference between it and "You're his granddaughter."

I believe there are factors that would prove the case as to why these twins are better: ▪︎The writing and its tone. ▪︎The very setting itself from a chronological standpoint, as the events from the trailer were likely set before Darth Bane's Rule of Two.
I've watched these cinematics so many times...for 10 years I've played this game over and over...replaying classes...because it's Just. THAT. GOOD. No other game has made me lose track of time and not care that my work day starts with so little sleep. I am very much looking forward to the next expansion!
One of the best mini films/trailers ever made. It tells so much in just 4 minutes and 13 seconds, and it makes you feel so many emotions. It's amazing.

@@kecksbelit3300 No it is not. It is average at the best of times. People got so used to garbage from Disney they have forgotten what is good. Show was hurting so bad the suddenly started bringing in a SHIT TON of established characters to help it out and Disney still is actively blocking viewership tracking so no one knows how few are actually watching their content. Only other streaming service that does that is Amazon while the established companies like HBO, WB. CBS all go out of their way to help groups like Nielsen make sure they can tell everyone how many are watching.
That game deserves a 10/10 just for it’s storylines and cinematic cutscenes. It just so happens that there’s also a great game going on. My first “big moment” years ago in the game was the Revan reveal in the “Foundry” flashpoint. I love watching it still today.
Anyone else notice the detail of when their hands are slipping from eachother they shrink, visualized in the end as childrens hands, to signify the loss off innocence? Absolutely amazing.
the scene at 1:46 makes it more sad because the arms grabbing each other shows how strong their relationship is, but in 3:29 his arms are slipping as he died and their relationship was broken.
Can you imagine seeing this for the first time and then a decade later you hear about another Star Wars story involving twins, and that story is the Acolyte? Man
The symbolism of hands in this cinematic is so cool. I love the repeated examples of the brothers helping one another up, and the one in black clasping the arm of the one in white during his agony on the battlefield. When the brother in white looks down at his bionic hand, he looks quite literally at all he has sacrificed for this man, supposedly a father, and righteously lashes out. The shot of the brothers’ letting go of each other as one of them dies at the “hand” of the other brought tears to my eyes. Only then does this bastard feel that the boy has earned the slightest bit of approval. Only then does he reach out his hand and acknowledge the boy as his son. As if to say, “I’m all you have left.” It’s just so powerful and brilliant.
He smiled because he sensed the brother (thexan) about to stop him (Arcaan) this is what the dad (Valkorian) wanted all along. He wanted to see who was better, he didn’t want the brothers to work together.
I'm not the biggest fan of the whole Eternal Empire/Valkorion thing but these trailers are all incredibly cool and are infinitely better than anything Disney has put out in the last 8 years.
Can we appreciate the artists and animators work in this? It's visually stunning, and the body language/facial expressions, are all spot on and tell the story without needing any context

The KOTFE/KOTET story is one of the best pieces of Star Wars storytelling I have ever witnessed. I will admit I wasn't that big of a fan of the feel and look and all that in regards to the story, but that was back before the only piece of SWTOR I had consumed was videos on TH-cam of other people playing it and these cinematic trailers. Once I finally took a character through these expansions, I was completely blown away and dragged into the story. It was the first time while playing SWTOR where I felt the scale of the vents taking place and actually felt like I was fighting a galaxy-wide war.
The only issue with the expansions here is that if you play as a non force user it doesn't really make sense. Except that, amazing story and characters.

I've seen this trailer a lot of times, but i had never noticed that, in the moment that Arcann attacks Darth Vitiate and we see him turning his back on his son... he smiles.
It's almost imperceptible, but his mouth changes a bit as he is perfectly conscious that one of his sons has finally fell in complete darkness

Vitiate disappeared in the aftermath of the Ziost massacre, only to reappear as Valkorion, the leader of a hidden Eternal Empire in Wild Space. Unbeknownst to the rest of the galaxy, Vitiate had spent the last several centuries forging a new society on the planet Zakuul, and even had three children, Arcann, Thexan, and Vaylin.
I think too he was happy one of his sons finally showed ambition. He seemed disappointed they relied on each other throughout their struggles. But, in that moment one of them finally acted on their own. In the aftermath it's the only time we ever hear him acknowledge one of them as his son. The symbolism is also great with Acann always being helped up by Thexan, but in his final moments, Thexan reaches out to Arcann only to have his hand slip out of his.
@@Vanom. What will always intrigue me is what would Valkorion have done if BOTH of his sons had fallen and tried to kill him? Would he accept them both? Or continue to pit one against the other until only one was left?
@@antonyduhamel1166 I think it depends on if they acted alone or together. If they co-operated, I feel he would have still been disappointed. However, even if they did act out separately, while he wouldn't be disappointed, it would be inevitable that they strike out against each other as their ambition grows. Whether or not Valkorion would wait that long or lend a helping hand to stoke the flames we may never know.
As always, after striking down his brother, the sheer emotion Arcann projects with just one eye…
It glares yellow, but then fades away as he realizes what he did. then it cuts to Valk, whose eyes just stay that way

2:16 I like how Thexan gives an uncomfortable look at his brother, he seems worried as he's sensing the darkness grow in him. After losing his arm and getting his face burned, Arcann became more ruthless and merciless. Thexan didn't like it.
Thexan seems to be strongest when defending his brother. I don't think he cared much for his dad but he did not expect Arcann to kill him while he was defending his dad.
Don't know why they don't turn this into a movie. The characters on this are better actors than most real life actors.
I agree it should be a movie but saying these digital character models with zero dialogue are actors is just silly. One of the biggest problems with the new movies is their dialogue and that isn't an actor's fault, it's the writers. The best actors on earth can only do so much with a shit script.

Always loved how Thexan is portrayed as the superior of the twins. He was better in the arena, built his lightsaber first and didn't get half his body blown up in war.
But he was also more compassionate and loyal, to Arcaan especially, and that was what got him killed when he put himself between his brother and Valkorion.
His brother probably tipped into the dark side in that moment which gave him an edge

He, himself wasn't trying to kill Arcaan, he was only trying to stop him from doing something he'd regret. Probably thought he could calm him down/talk some sense into him right until he took that lightsaber through the midsection.
One very cool touch is that, despite Thexan being the one with "Sith black", he's never dirty or has tears in his outfits while Arcaan is visibly dirty, full of dust and obviously his huge injury in battle.
Thexan, despite being the superior twin and the more "Sith-like", was the one with Jedi levels of being calm and collected.

If they did it and managed to pull it off successfully it would probably make millions if not more. Because it would show how much more terrifying the sith at their peak used to be. Palpatine pales in comparison to the likes of the Sith of old. Vitiate made him look like an amateur comparatively, he did run his empire effectively I’ve actually looked into that because I’m a nerd. He ran it fairly effectively all things considered.

What an amazing voice actor, Valkorion was just such a great character.
His voice is easily the reason why Valkorion is one of my all time fav Star Wars character. His voice alone tempts me to side with him in the game.

@@astrobookwormsinger the most obvious one is how they purposely make the characters wear black and White and since black is associated with the dark side everyone ln their first view were thinking about how that guy would turn but in the end it was the other way around, the "light" guy turned and killed his brother, showing how the darkside can corrupt everyone, it's a pretty cool way to tell a story

Easily the best Star Wars cinematic ever made. I still nearly form tears when the brothers eyes go from Sith back to normal when he realizes what it is he has done.
Oh how I’ve missed these trailers. The uploading of them again in 4K has been a true highlight of the past week. I hope they do a new one soon.
Orchestrated by Vitiate. He tore the brothers apart to see which one would come out on top. At least, that's what I believe.
Arcann was always eager to please his father and earn his approval, while Thexan cared far less about that. He was loyal, sure, but he wasn't craving any affection or praise from Vitiate. The bond he had with his brother was enough for him. Vitiate gave them a life of war, fighting and constant strife and the brothers coped with all of it, because they had each other. The only chink in their armor was Arcann's desperate need for Vitiate's approval. And so Vitiate purposely denied him that. He pushed them further and further until finally Arcann snapped and lashed out... at the wrong target. His rage was aimed at Vitiate, but redirected to Thexan and he struck him down in a fit of rage. And in so doing, he removed the only positive and stabilizing influence he had in his life. His own brother, who had always been there for him, in his darkest moments. Now he was gone at the hands of Arcann himself and all he has left is the darkness. WIthout Thexan, his last remaining blip of light is gone and Vitiate is free to play him like a puppet without interference from anyone or anything that can threaten that control.

SWTOR trailers, and this one in particular, are true classics and I'm glad to see justice done to them with these remasters. With but a few minutes and scenes, they better encapsulate the spirit of Star Wars than most main line SW movies.
I love that you can see Valkorian smile at 3:04 and then you see his Sith eyes at 3:46. Brilliant little details like this make these trailers better than the sequel trilogy.

Recall how you felt watching this for the first time and then imagine it's a special prelude to an upcoming Star Wars film. No need for big names or the resurrection of characters to compensate for mediocre storytelling. Just imaginative visuals, an original, new faction, and emotionally gripping, poetic storytelling. Young fans would immediately know the difference between it and "You're his granddaughter."

People got so used to garbage from Disney they have forgotten what is good. Show was hurting so bad the suddenly started bringing in a SHIT TON of established characters to help it out and Disney still is actively blocking viewership tracking so no one knows how few are actually watching their content.
Only other streaming service that does that is Amazon while the established companies like HBO, WB. CBS all go out of their way to help groups like Nielsen make sure they can tell everyone how many are watching.

the scene at 1:46 makes it more sad because the arms grabbing each other shows how strong their relationship is, but in 3:29 his arms are slipping as he died and their relationship was broken.

The storytelling in this is so masterfully done, even after 7 years I still enjoy re-watching it.
This is how you do a good and evil twin story. SWTOR told a better story in 4 minutes than the acolyte did in over 8 hours.

It's sad how a video game cinematic has better writing, cinematography, and soul than the $200+ million dollar series The Acolyte.

The eternal empire was terrifying they were so strong they put both the Jedi and the Sith on their knees

I was here before Disney took over. I actually understand the context of this trailer.
The symbolism of hands in this cinematic is so cool. I love the repeated examples of the brothers helping one another up, and the one in black clasping the arm of the one in white during his agony on the battlefield. When the brother in white looks down at his bionic hand, he looks quite literally at all he has sacrificed for this man, supposedly a father, and righteously lashes out. The shot of the brothers’ letting go of each other as one of them dies at the “hand” of the other brought tears to my eyes.
Only then does this bastard feel that the boy has earned the slightest bit of approval. Only then does he reach out his hand and acknowledge the boy as his son. As if to say, “I’m all you have left.”
It’s just so powerful and brilliant.

180m budget for The Acolyte we got "the power of manyyy" twin and some random bullshit. Here in the old republic we got legendary twin story.
I'm not the biggest fan of the whole Eternal Empire/Valkorion thing but these trailers are all incredibly cool and are infinitely better than anything Disney has put out in the last 8 years.

Can we appreciate the artists and animators work in this? It's visually stunning, and the body language/facial expressions, are all spot on and tell the story without needing any context

The KOTFE/KOTET story is one of the best pieces of Star Wars storytelling I have ever witnessed. I will admit I wasn't that big of a fan of the feel and look and all that in regards to the story, but that was back before the only piece of SWTOR I had consumed was videos on TH-cam of other people playing it and these cinematic trailers. Once I finally took a character through these expansions, I was completely blown away and dragged into the story. It was the first time while playing SWTOR where I felt the scale of the vents taking place and actually felt like I was fighting a galaxy-wide war.
Finally someone who likes the Knights expansions, so many people hate them. They're the masterpieces of SWTOR.
The only issue with the expansions here is that if you play as a non force user it doesn't really make sense. Except that, amazing story and characters.

Incorrect. Depending on which three movies. If you mean the last three made the. I would disagree Han Solo wasn’t the worst, rogue one was awesome and the clone wars movie was decent. If your talking about main story though the prequels weren’t really that bad.
