It's already possible with modern software technology utilising full ray tracing or UE5 no joke, you just need to take a look at recent tech demos from the past couple of years. Issue is the average user's hardware has a lot of catching up to do. We should see some really powerful graphics cards debut in a year's time which will help make better hardware more accessible by driving prices now. Expect to see animated film quality graphics in several AAA games this gen, games like Rift Apart or the upcoming Forbidden West already approach this during cutscenes. Fingers crossed the Knights of the Old Republic remake, since it has Sony's money backing it, will be able to achieve a high level of visual polish!
The problem is not the tech. It is the ideologues who hold Star Wars hostage and refuse to just make good stories. These are the darkest times for Star Wars and any Entertainment.
@@ramaya007 So everything you *claim* is pure and utter truth then? All he did was jus be kind and give a recommendation for some demo tests and you're comin in here all like "CoMpAnY iDeOlOgIeS" and "holding star wars hostage". Here's a news flash. Star Wars is gonna go in directions you and I won't agree with but who fucking cares? If that particular place isn't for older fans than we don't have to go there to still have to enjoy something. There will always be a piece of star wars out there for everyone, new and old so don't fucking gatekeep and tell others what they can and can't like. Mkay?
What they did to Vaylin will never cease to disturb me, especially when I'm going through the wrecked labs and am hearing the details of what was done. Vaylin deserved redemption far more than Arcann, and I still hate that, to put him down, I have to put down Senya, whom I adore. There's so much I'd change about KotET. This trailer cements those feelings every time.
Yeah, not having that flexibility to finish Arcann without Senya is a bit frustrating. As for Vaylin, redeeming her is tough storytelling. If she can just flip because , then it absolutely cheapens the impact of what happened to her. I don't think she was redeemable, and I mean I don't think there would be a way to undo or unravel what had been done to her. She didn't make mistakes or bad decisions that she could rectify and 'come to the light', she was betrayed, tortured, brutalized, manipulated and programmed from the time she was a child. Even if you could reach her...all that would be left would be a knot of trauma and suffering, everything else in her psyche from childhood onward was that monster. That is the tragedy of it, what her father did to her was so horrible that there may have never been a way out. And that was important storytelling for Tenebrae/Vitiate/Valkorian as well. We'd seen his power on a galactic scale, his dominance, his ego, his madness and willingness to sacrifice for his own power. But here he destroyed his own child, brutally twisting her into a monster. And it's unforgivable. Valkorian is played for charm, Koth reveres him, but we know whether it is planets of innocents or one little girl, as Tenebrae, Vitiate or Valkorian, it is a presence that must be removed from the universe. It's been a while, but now that I think of it, was there a path where Koth does more than, 'yeah, I guess' accept that we'll kill Valkorian?
@@ArcaneWolf9 You're not wrong. I don't think heroic redemption was in order, so much as coming to some sort of realization how messed up she is, and taking steps to try to make some amends or at least chill the hell out some. @@Jodacro-it4zz I think Vaylin would 100% NOT be into it. Moot point, as she's no longer in that position, but no, I don't think it could. Different trauma (in the Force and mentally).

Your father knew power, my child, and I thought he'd understand, But he stole you away, far from my sight. I could have screamed and fought but I let you go, And it was too late when I realised my fault that night. You were my precious treasure, you were my life's light, You were in chains, you were in a constant night. I took you and ran, and fought everything in sight, But you had changed, it was too late to keep you from our fights. And now I know my one mistake will haunt me every night, I will wish a thousand times to have made a different choice in hindsight. I have failed as your mother more than I've failed as your father's knight, And I will give my life to be able to change your fate, to rewrite. An acolyte of what? And although graphics aren’t as good in game the actual story for this chapter is aaaawesome.
@@thesovietvorona1007 Soooo good 😅
I know she’s an evil character and not nice but I can’t help but feel incredibly sorry for Vaylin after watching this trailer. Valkorion really messed her up.
So let her get her revenge against Dragon of Zakuul
I think the best villains are ones that you can sympathize with or feel sorry for. Adds a lot of depth to their character

Betrayed is also a sad story as well because you can tell Senya cared about her daughter Vaylin so much that she went to tooth and nail to save her from her father the sith emperor unfortunately she failed but she'd at least tried to save her daughter from becoming a monster, which actually the most tragic story of them all when you think about it because Vaylin didn't start out as a monster but a little girl who wanted to be like her brothers arcann and Thexan unfortunately the end result of this story is that well this entire family is now basically destroyed which is sad and depressing especially in a star wars story in my opinion.
Senya is my favorite female from sw by far. You cant find more tragic story than hers on it
@@ryanroubert2483 indeed and honestly I love senya as well because her story is really tragic and very sad but damn it she's a excellent fighter and would go to hell and back to save her children which I approve. :)

@@ryanroubert2483 indeed and another thing I did like about her character is that in the game itself you can help her redeem arcann and in my opinion actually was a great redemption story for her character and gave her another chance to be a mother again which made me so happy. :)
@@TevyaSmolka sometimes i like to wonder, what if the plot of eternal throne saga were the original star wars from 1977. I mean, its a family drama from space as well, and the plot doesnt stay behind in quality and story telling of Skywalker family drama too
No matter how many times I see this, the ending always gives me chills which I absolutely love.
The fact the animation STILL holds up in these trailers really gives me hope for the day we get a star wars game with this exact level of breathtaking detail

I hated HAVING to kill her as a lightside Jedi - it felt forced and lazy.
She actually was redemable in a sense. She help you defeat Valcoran in the final battle by stripping his powers.
@MindTrickedX24 Could the healing ritual the Voss used on Arcann be used on Vaylin or would she too powerful for that?
@@Jodacro-it4zz I think Vaylin would 100% NOT be into it. Moot point, as she's no longer in that position, but no, I don't think it could. Different trauma (in the Force and mentally).
It’s sad that we received an entire different Star Wars when this could’ve been a new era for the franchise , it’s not even 10 minutes long and it has such a wonderful storytelling, better visuals and a darkness that feels new and refreshing it treats Star Wars with respect and seriousness not with stupidity and mediocrity that we are receiving from Disney . I hope this will be the story of the future this is “the new hope”we the true and loyal fans deserve.

checks out, I loved both Vaylin and Azula as characters, loved both of them as complex villains
I lost my sons as soon as I had them,
Like their father, they both sought might.
But you, you were always the special one,
A ray of light, cheerful and bright.
You prodigious powers shook us to the core,
It caused us so much fear and fright,
I was helpless and foolish, and made a mistake
That I think I can never truly right.
Your father knew power, my child, and I thought he'd understand,
But he stole you away, far from my sight.
I could have screamed and fought but I let you go,
And it was too late when I realised my fault that night.
You were my precious treasure, you were my life's light,
You were in chains, you were in a constant night.
I took you and ran, and fought everything in sight,
But you had changed, it was too late to keep you from our fights.
And now I know my one mistake will haunt me every night,
I will wish a thousand times to have made a different choice in hindsight.
I have failed as your mother more than I've failed as your father's knight,
And I will give my life to be able to change your fate, to rewrite.

An acolyte of what? Not the Sith, obviously, not the dark side, because Valkorian said himself that the knights know that the force is more than light and dark, satele and Marr backed this up, the reason why Arcann, thexan, and vaylin were so deadly was because the way the used the force was completely different

I never noticed this before, but for a good deal of the fight at 3:30 Senya doesn't have her lightsaber activated. I love it!
She only uses lightsabers twice on them in the whole fight, rest is combat and a maybe knife throw? and the one saber kill is one of theirs
I'm not a Star Wars fan, I barely know anything about the franchise, but this cinematic still captivates me with how well it is done.
Why isn't disney calling the storyboard, visual directers, animators up and giving these people a shot in the movie industry. Theyre clearly passionate about the universe and this is how to do female charectors if you want to focus on them a little more. Its high art and the peopel working on this project who I didnt mention included should be very proud of all their work. Re-watching this becuase even though its only 6 minutes long. Its more Star Wars content than the three new films Disney made. Thats saying a lot.
Before John Wick there was this bad ass woman. This is still the coldest mother fucking lightsaber bout of ANY star wars content imho. 1 v 6. Sis has got bodies in multiple systems. She was turned into a monster, tortured, betrayed... But damn, Valkorion's people knows how to tattoo.
Remember there are three canon timelines:
The Lucas Canon: The original 6 movies only.
The Disney Canon: Everything disney has made since 2014 and on.
The Expanded Universe (Legends) Canon: Everything before Disney (Dark horse comics, Novels, the games like force unleashed 1 & 2, SWTOR, KOTOR, jedi academy.) Disney didn't eliminate it completely they are keeping it alive through Disney plus and other games.
I've been diving into Legends (EU) these days and I feel like a kid again.
