I’m catching up and doing my homework ready for our application this year. Am I right in that there is no immigration health surcharge this time round to pay. Just the £2404 application fee? £2 sms fee and English B1 and Life in the Uk tests to pay for?

Hey!! Thanks for sticking with me so long 😅. I’d always suggest taking the test 6-4 months before the ILR application cuz that way if the applicant needs to redo it then they still have a couple of months to do that. It’s all multiple choice, very similar to how the driving theory test is done. My husband practiced off this website lifeintheuktestweb.co.uk.
Did Your husband practice all tests and mock tests from the website or he just practices 16 tests which are what all people commenting for practicing, can please let me know my life in the exam is very soon .

Early of October Home Office has risen surcharge of visa fees, I’m happy for ppl who extended their visa before this happened and sorry for ppl who has to pay a lot more in the future.

Yeah it’s so unfair to those who have to apply in future. It’s was a struggle already for most people and now it’s much harder. We have been very lucky to have missed the increase.

also wanted to add I started watching your videos and first applied for my husband as a 22 year old who had no idea about these things lucky I did all my applications already a year or so after you did yours

Hi Ruksana, as part of your ILR did you have to physically submit your spouses passport and existing BRP? - eg at BIOMETRIC appoitnment or did they need you to bring the originals for them to scan and check and they then handed them back to you same day? - so they do not take them at all?
Hi, you have to take in your passport and brp card and they return them to you. They don't keep anything for the FLR or ILR applications (I am not sure if that is the case with the first visa application because they used to keep it for that).

Hi, yes exactly. There is no wait time for the citizenship for those on spouse visas so you can apply as soon as you receive the brp card for ILR. We have applied now and are waiting to hear back. I will upload the citizenship application video later this week.

Hi, there isn’t a video on it but I am tempted to do one as it’s my most asked question.
You can apply once the applicant has had the extension visa for 30 months. However I always say apply 28 days before the brp card expires and you have right up to the day of expiry to submit the online application

Hi Ruksana, have they removed the super priority services for ILR? It’s still available as per the gov.uk website for SET(M) applications but didn’t see it on your payment page.
Hi, I’ve never done priority/super priority. I’ve never seen an option for it either so I don’t actually know how people ever did it. I know it is still available because others have told me they have gone for it. Hope you find it.

It just means that they have received the application you submitted. Someone has opened it

Hi, I sure there is. Some have paid for super priority and got a decision in a few hours. I’ve never applied for priority, never seen an option for it so I don’t know how people are doing it 🤷🏻♀️. Hope you find it.

Hi! Yes, we applied for a Schengen visa when we went to Greece and France. Some say you don't need to but we wanted to make sure we were definitely able to travel. Tbh, it is like a mini version of this visa application where you have to provide proof of travel, accommodation, 3 months bank statements and wage slips. finally I have a question too please? Sorry I need to sit down and watch all the ILR videos properly, but when did your husband apply for ILR and has he heard back? If so how long did it take to get the visa ? Do you still get a BRP or just a visa ?
It can take upto 8 weeks, but u can book priority appointment for extra charge (£1000) decision will come in 1 day after u submit ur fingerprints.
Super priority service shows up around 12am to 1am (night time😁)

Hi, I can see someone has answered the question for you. It did take us the full 8 weeks on a standard visa but even that can vary. Some hear back within days, it can take others longer. There’s no real set timeframe

Hi, from what I remember I’m sure it says you have up to 2 months to book the biometrics appointment. It’s either that or up to 2 months to submit all of your documents. I’m sure we applied in July as I booked the biometrics appointment on 10th Aug which was about 3 weeks later so 2 months after sounds about right.
I’m not sure with priority unfortunately S it’s not something I’ve ever done. I am assuming you will have to do it all within a shorter timeframe

Just a quick update I have just booked my wife's biometric in at Sheffield for her ILR and there are no free slots, the cheapest I could find was £143!, I think they realise that they can squeeze extra money out of us because it is an essential part of the application process, so it looks like that from now on you have no option but to pay for your slots, would like to know if anyone else had to pay, not sure about other centers.
U do get free one around 4 weeks later
Hi, thanks for this. My husband has recently done his biometric appointment for the citizenship and again it was showing as £143 and 4 weeks later £93 but there are free slots available, you just need to wait for them to come up. We didn’t book one then but my husband kept refreshing the website and then finally some free one came up which we booked.

If you try to submit in midnight time like 1ishAM it will had priority service option

Haha yes, very busy!! I barely have time for TH-cam now so I do apologise for such a late reply. Thank you to the two others who have replied on my behalf. It has never come up as an option for me but I’ve never applied at 12-1am so that may be why. It’s like when you look for a free biometrics appointment, sometimes if you look in the early hours of the morning, you might get lucky

No, it is needed for the ILR application, please check the government website if unsure.

Good question! I was hoping to pay for a faster decision, but it looks like they don't have it for this type of visa?

Hi, you don't need to pay it for the ILR application. Only the entry visa and FLR.
