Hi Ruksana, thank you for taking the time to put out such a detailed and informative video. My wife is Indonesian and I’m Scottish…we had my wife’s first visa processed using ‘Citizens Advice’s immigration department. They did a good job but the fee was £900….eek!!! And, we still had to to gather all the the information. We need to start her extension application shortly and will definitely do it ourselves this time.
£900!! That’s the same as a solicitor. I thought citizen’s advice was free advice, that they just give you information, didn’t realise they had such services. None of them around us are ever open so I’ve never been.
Unfortunately gathering all the information is always going to be on you whether you do it through a solicitor or not but at least when you get the help, you know that whatever you are submitting will be enough evidence. Whereas when I did it on my own I was never sure if it was. You pay mainly for that and for them to help with the form. It’s crazy how much it is!! That on top of the already extortionate fees for the visa and IHS 😰
I think you’ll deffo be able to do it on your own next time. You already have an idea of what sorts of documents you need to collect as well. Best of luck!! 🍀

I’m here to say thank you to Ruksana, you really did a good job with your walkthrough and uploading of supporting documents. I followed you all the way. Can you believe this, I submitted my application on the 19/02/22 and attended the biometric appointment on the 12/03/22 and in four days that’s 16/03/22, I received an email from home office that my application has been successful. It was a shock to and my hubby. You’re such a good teacher. Thank you so much for your help. I will come again when it’s time to do ILR😂😂. No solicitor needed. God bless you😘

Hi Ruksana, i can't describe in words how much we owe you. that was easier than going to a solicitor to do the application. you explained everything in plain English. Followed your original videos and it helped immensely. Didn't use a solicitor. I'm a business owner and employee so had a tonne more documents to submit compared to the usual 6 months payslip route but it all came back positive. Took my time, watched your videos and trawled immigration forums. I paid for priority and had a response within 5 weeks and now have my wife from Bangladesh with me here in the UK ! May Allah reward you for these helpful step by steps.

You will also come across links to them whilst filling out the application form.
Hi, I’m not sure exactly what documents you need to provide but you will need to show 12 months worth of income when self employed.

I don't know how thankful I am by watching your video. Because I got my spouse visa in 2018 only by following your video. I did exactly the same as you shown in the videos. Hello sister thank you, for ur help can I please ask in family route section when it’s say dose the applicant have Childrens 18 years or under do we need to say yes or no, as me and my partner have one child who is born in uk after my first visa. He is British citizen
@@ahmadullahahmadi6995 i was quite confused too, i’m currently doing my application and my baby is 2 months so i have pressed Yes. It will then say if this child is added in this visa application i then pressed “No” and they will ask you why, i have said my child was born here in the uk and they are a british citizen. They will then ask you details of the child and where they are born so it will make sense after.

Hey! We are good thank you, hope you are too! Aww it was more stressful making this video than it was making the application haha. I think because we have done it once before it was easier this time round, just slightly different in terms of documents and proving that we have lived together rather than that we are in a relationship but happy to share our journey with everyone! 😁

He did the IELTS B1 test which is the highest level. A2 is enough for the extension and if the applicant isn’t as confident with their English yet, that is the one I would recommend
He Ruks how’s you? Xxx I was wondering, at the end of our husbands final 2.5year spouse visa after the extension do we have to apply for the ILR indefinite leave to remain / British citizenship straight away? Is it the case that if we don’t they can’t stay in the country or can we wait a while save and apply? How does it work. Xxx
Hi Ruksana. Thankyou sooooo much for this. You really helped with husbands visa extension. Saved us £780 solicitor fee. And all he was going to do was fill out the application on husbands behalf. We never knew how easy the application form is. It even gives details in each section what we need to submit. We made a file and had everything scanned at the biometrics £79 and they did the biometrics n the scanning. All sent over and hubby got his extension. I wouldn't have known how easy it was if hadn't seen you video. Thankyou again xx

Aww it’s true, a solicitor is really not needed, if you’re willing to put the time and effort in then you can easily save yourself a good chunk of money. Any saving is helpful, especially with how expensive all the fees are!

Thank you again for all the videos for the visa extension. I followed your videos for the initial application to bring my wife over from the US in 2019 and we were successful and we have just received the confirmation of the visa extension being successful as well. We followed your videos exactly and got a decision very quickly. We submitted our online application on 15th April, had the biometrics appointment on 5th May and received a decision on 20th May and we hadn't paid for priority, so very surprised to hear back so quickly!

Oh wow, sorry to hear you’ve been waiting so long. There is some contact information for them in my description box. Maybe you should given them a call, there is a charge per min but can be worth it. Hope you hear back soon!!

It is better for you to call them and speak to them directly. You will only get a generic reply if you email them and it may not answer your question properly. It is a waste of time and money.

Assalaamualaikum brother did you do priority visa, I'm doing my wife's extension next week thinking if I should do priority just incase its take long time due to Ukraine and Russia war
Wassalams brother, we went with the normal service. We receieved the BRP card 2 weeks after the biometric appointment. At the end of the application, it said it can take upto 2 months for the home office to respond. So not sure if it was quick for our application or whether they are now responding to everyone in a similar time frame. Hope this helps.

Thank you for such an informative video walkthrough. It's quite overwhelming to see how much they require this time, even the first application was not this complex. Anyway I'm eagerly awaiting the video which provides the exact requirements of supporting documents, because I am scheduled to submit my wife's extension application by mid February, and am nervous about the process, especially as I've just began looking at the application process a few days ago.

In this section should be Family/Spouse. Settlement for ILR process.
Because the spouse visa is known actually called "family of a settled person visa" and if you remember back to the first application form, the first couple of questions on there were regarding the type of visa you are applying for and we chose "settlement, settlement, husband" as our answers

I want to say a big thank, honestly, I was able to do my husband's visa extension by myself, because of you.
I was so stressed, thinking I will make a mistake but surprisingly, we submitted our documents today i didnt uploaded online, i couldnt deal with stress anymore so i just paid and got them scanned at the appointment and we also received a response within 1 day to say it has been successful, we went through the priority service.

Hi Ruksana , just want to say a big thank you for this vid. My wife had her biometric appointment on 10th August and her visa was approved on the 06th September, without the fast track.
Our circumstances were that we are living with my parents and have no utility bills in our name.
Instead, we got a letter from my father stating our household arrangement in that the parents pay the utility bills and me and my partner cover household shopping bills including food and maintenance of the house. I also included hotel receipts of various family functions/days out combined with pictures.
Additionally I included mine and my wife’s Ebay purchase history covering 2 years showing various items purchased. The bank statement showed my parents addresss which cross referenced the ebay purchases. I’m enjoying the updates of your growing family. Looking forward to your next video !!

Dear Ruksana Ahmed, My mrs visa got approved in 2 weeks. It would not have been possible without your walkthrough and advise. Many thanks and best wishes. Just a tip from my side , I used PDF scanner and another tool called combine pdf tool to combine all individual pdf pages into into 1 pdf file. Also you can convert jpeg file to pdf file and use pdf combine toot to merge. So in total I just used 23 pdf files. Thanks again to both of you. God bless.

I just have to leave a comment here with gratitude from me and my husband because this is so easy to do compared to the tremendous work you have done explaining all the subtleties of the visa application in such detail that all doubts disappear immediately.
Just wanted to report, I followed all your instructions, paid an extra 800£ for the priority service to get a faster decision (you can now pay it while paying your visa fee filling your online application) and got the email with the decision on Monday, Aug 23 when my biometric appointment was just two days before, on Saturday, Aug 21! my new BPR card arrived on Wednesday, Aug 26! We wish you all the best!

Hi Yasaman, I recently did my brother in laws application and there was two options at 1:05:10. One for a standard service and one for a priority service. Can’t remember what the prices difference was or how soon it said you would hear back or even if that was where Maria found it but it could be the same thing. They must have opened the priority service now that Covid is pretty much over

We can confirm that with her having children under 18, you need to answer questions about them, regarding why they are not being applied for too, who is financially responsible for them, details of her previous relationships, etc.

Hi Ruksana, hope you and your family are well. I have followed your series and its been very helpful and I got my spouse extension visa without solicitor thanks to your help. I know you've been replying to all my questions and again I thank you for that jazakallah Allah khair. I just have one more request please, can you please make a brief video explaining what will be needed for the spouse indefinite leave to remain as this can help to make early start on collecting important documents. I had the issue of not keeping letters as I trashed them so I had hard time finding letters in my and my spouse name. Things like this will help a lot if known before hand. Thank you.
Hey, thank you for watching my videos. I am glad you have found them helpful. I haven't looked into the ILR much myself but I think it is very similar to the FLR application. I think you have to provide 12 letters this time instead of 6 (or 12 in one name and 12 in the other) and it has to cover the last 5 years. So make sure to keep your old letter and any new letters!

Thanks for this. I have to do an extension for my wife next year. This has taken a lot of the worry, about it, away. Really annoyed about how much they increase the NHS payment, though. I expect it will be much more expensive when I pay it, more especially as my wife is working and paying National Insurance.
Aww, glad to hear it’s put your mind at ease. Yes it is crazy that they charge so much and it seems to keep going up each year. It’s not by an extra £20/£50, it’s £600 each year!! That’s so much money. I don’t get why they then take NI from the applicant. Surely they should be except until they are not longer on a visa. Just seems a little unfair
