Literally the 2 cars I'm most looking at buying at the moment. About the same price, too. What do you guys think? Ultimately it's all in preparation for the 997.1 Carrera S but while funds are growing might as well pit stop at a fun sub-$20k car on the way.
The C6 GS is not a sub $20k car. More like 30-35k. The Z4M is hard to find, but goes for around 20k. However you would need to spend another 10k on it to have it ready for the track. For a 20k budget In would probably buy a 15k S2000 and spend 5k to have it track ready. Or a Miata.
@@stevenkronemberger8634 Agree, I should have corrected myself with an edit as I didn't realize you had a GS until after. There is only one GS around me for under $30k and its like 80k+ miles. It's around $25k, which isn't bad. If I was going to go Vette it would be C6 Z51 3LT for around $20k. I'm really loving the Z4M (I'd take a Roadster most likely). I don't really want a track car or plan to track it out. I want a mostly fun, streetable, driver focused platform as I live in So Cal and have great access to twisty roads and good weather year round. I love watching the track vids of these beast cars (like yours) but I just know I'm not headed in that direction... Still though, the S2000s and RX-8's of the world have me second guessing myself. For a small bump you can easily get into an E46 M3/Z4M and have best of both worlds. The Porsche 996 was a strong consideration for a while but their IMS issue and age kind of edged them out. It's all in preparation for the unicorn 997.1 Carrera S for around $30k eventually :)
Frickin’ awesome video and driving.

A format on the SD card would probably line up the audio & video a little bit, great little battle you guys were having!
