    Such a great tutorial. I have a K-Plus and it was largely the same process. The only exception being one additional cleaning step for the K-Plus with the receiver having a removable base component which doesn't appear to be on the K-Max.
    Additional tip - be careful not too overtighten the thumb nut prior to calibrating...I tightened until refusal initially. It was tricky to then untighten the thumb nut as needed for calibration due to the tension bearing functioning in holding the nut extremely tight without a means of releasing that tension due to the excessive overtightening 😅
    Thanks for taking the time and effort to produce this tutorial. Great work.

    You can count how many clicks it is off zero and after that you can set just as many clicks on the inner adjustment ring. Makes it a lot easier.

    Thanks for this video! Was having some trouble figuring out how to work the K-Max assembly and calibration and your video is super clear 👍🏻 Have you tried putting in hot water first before putting in the ground beans? The extraction is much faster :)

      @@NlesCtrl My bad, I forgot you are brewing via traditional pour-over. As I brew via the Clever Dripper so I pass through hot water 1 time and drain it out to pre-heat. Then I add water in for a second time before adding the ground beans on top, for a quicker drawdown when I release the opening mechanism. Wouldn't apply to you however!

    According to the official 1Zpresso documentation, this is NOT how you're supposed to calibrate your grinder. In fact, doing it this way can damage the burrs.
    The zero is NOT defined as the point where the adjustment dial can no longer be turned any further. Instead, the zero is defined as the point when the grinder handle starts to spin with resistance.

    • @NlesCtrl

    I'm not sure, but I think that you could have removed the inner burr also. It would be easier to clean. Very helpful video! Thank you!

    • @NlesCtrl
      @NlesCtrl  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea you can, but I didn't in this video. Thanks for the tips.

    • @dummyme3448
      @dummyme3448 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, both the adjustment dial ring and lower burr ring can be removed in the K-series, and this in fact enables a much more complete clean.
      You need to turn both adjustment dial ring and lower burr ring clockwise to remove.
      In the case of the adjustment dial ring, this means setting it to its very coarsest setting and then just keeping going with turning until it comes off. If you're anything like me, you'll be worried this additional turning (and for me it was a bit stiff) might snap or break something in the adjustment dial ring, but don't worry: The adjustment dial ring is designed to be removed. Just make sure that when re-attaching both rings (by turning counterclockwise this time) they're securely/firmly in place.
      There were in fact a lot of grinds on a part of the lower burr ring that you simply wouldn't reach if you don't first remove it.
      Note to J-Max users viewing this: In its online 'Clean Tutorial for 1Zpresso External Adjustment Grinder' 1Zpresso points out that whilst the adjustment dial ring can be removed in the K-series, removing it on the J-Max is "not suggested".
      Still a very useful/helpful guide video. Thank you.
