damn true, I had interests in music back in grade school but never fully develop it and only know how to play basic drums and play by ear. But my uncle hosts a summer class on all kinds of instruments. I tell you kids can easily learn any type of instruments. Some of those kids have a career of music today.
Definitely!! To this day, I will regret my decision to not enrol in a music class when I was picking courses in high school. I’m still kicking myself for not even considering it. My dad tried to revive music by getting me a replica of Kirk Hammett’s guitar...but at the time, I just wasn’t into it. Thankfully, he gave me yet another chance, w/ an Ovation acoustic-electric, which I’m slowly learning about and getting the hang of. In time, I hope to become a good musician. This scene always makes me both laugh, and feel good about having a second chance to see where music can take me. I will love this movie forever!!
When I watched this as a kid, a lot of the jokes like that completely went over my head. But watching it now and seeing these kids act like adults is hilarious 💀
“A GUT BUSTIN’ DRUM SOLO” Kevin Clark shredding it on the drums! I remember seeing this in theaters with my mom and leaving wanting to be Freddy Jones. Rest In Peace🙏
I was in absolute disbelief when I heard what happened to him. I still am. I was 7 years old when school of rock was released. I gotta say, I couldn't agree more with what u said Matt. I wanted to be like Freddy Jones too. I just remember 7 year old me thinking that Freddy was the absolute coolest character in that movie. He was, still is and forever will be awesome. RIP Kevin Clark.
@@Zephr238 yeah when I first saw this movie I was like “damn Freddy’s a bad ass but Zach SHREDS on the guitar” like he was the coolest guy living lmao I wanted to play the guitar so bad after that haha
3:18 I like how they make a point of having Freddie not be that good with drums at the start, considering how much of a badass he is with them by the end.
For some reason, I've always liked that it actually showed Dewey telling the kids what song they were gonna do. Instead of just magically having them all know what song they'd play for their surprise encore.
I never understood AC DC or this kind of hard rock until I saw School of Rock. I get it now, and have found an appreciation for letting it all hang loose, belting it out. and giving it your all.
This ending credit is just everything. It's true that music is highly important for children, as it helps model their future years as grown ups, and it boosts their chances at creativity. The cast was brilliant and Jack Black as its star was amazing. This movie is by no doubt a masterpiece.
What’s really awesome, is that this movie was partly based on reality. School Of Rock actually exists. It’s a really great program. I spent a good chunk of high school as a student there. I learned a lot. Performed at a lot of cool places.
Now that I'm older I can really appreciate this outro in a different way. They weren't even acting here hardly, they're just having so much fun jammin haha such a cool way to end a movie.
I remember watching this is theaters 20 years ago. This ending was perfection. Not one person left while it was going on because I don't think any one of us wanted it to end. Such a fantastic movie.
Had no idea that Kevin Clark died two days ago. Something told me to watch the School of Rock videos on TH-cam, and now I know why. RIP Kevin Clark🥁❤️❤️
Rock music has been my.life since 1969 and will be until I take my last breath Theres no other music that would make me so passionate. I have to say though that I love other stles of music
I like to think these kids grew up and "made it" as a band with Tomika, Alicia, and Marta sharing/switching between lead and background vocals. And of course they took the rest of the class with them. Can't have kick ass shows without a proper crew after all.
2:47 - Joey Gaydos Jr - the guitarist - grew up to be such a handsome young man! 🥰❤️ I love the little shoulder roll he does after Jack says, “I think you melted it off.” So cute! My favorite scene in the movie, was when Joey (Zack Mooneyham) was practicing in the mirror in his bedroom with his acoustic. It’s hard to believe this film was made over 20 years ago.
3:11 the vibes were reaaal fr Freddy (Kevin Clarke) was already ready for it when you hear that high hat kick into high gear before Dewey (Jack Black) even had a chance to say “Gut. Busting.” 😂❤ RIP Kevin I’m sorry to hear you passed away.
Sadly I wouldn’t count on it. Kevin Clark (Freddy) died in a motorcycle accident two years ago and from the looks of it everybody else is doing their own thing. I’d say the chances are we’ll get some posts from the cast to honor 20 years, but that’s about it.
Warms my heart that these kids knew how to properly vamp during the shenanigans and then come right in with the chorus as soon as Jack goes for it at random intervals lol
The lesson is that you can be the best, and still not win. If you really are the best , its only only one contest, and it won't matter in the long run (if you get a long run, that is).
You can tell Jack Black legit had so much fun making this movie
I think they all did
he was definitely in his element
That's what makes it so fun to watch! ❤️
There isn't another actor that could have pulled this movie off. If this script wasn't custom written for him, it might as well have been.
He said of all the films he's done this is the one where he was acting most like who he really is.
Possibly the best ending credits in the history of film.
Mark P Oh yeah!
yeah broo!!
I agree. In over 40 years of watching movies the only other time I watched all credits was when I was looking for outtakes.
Ain't that the truth
Easily
The end credits was a 5 min one-take! They achieved this with a bunch of kids, playing several instruments and still kept it entertaining af!! Wow...
I thought it was a 1 take as well. But there are cuts. They’re just subtle
While there are mutiple subtle cuts and jump cuts, it's amazing how unnoticeable they are, truly remarkable film making
Shepherd's Chapel Network !!!!!!! Chapter by Chapter / Verse by Verse !!!!!!!
We know it's not a single take because they cut out the bass solo :(
Wait... have I seen you somewhere before??? 🤔
Music is so important for children with still developing minds. Even though they may not get a career in music.
damn true, I had interests in music back in grade school but never fully develop it and only know how to play basic drums and play by ear. But my uncle hosts a summer class on all kinds of instruments. I tell you kids can easily learn any type of instruments. Some of those kids have a career of music today.
Right, great musicians need great listeners.
the arts in general. It's a shame that the arts doesn't get the treatment/respect as sports.

He got hit by a car while riding bicycle

I love how his buddy rediscovered his love of music and became a music teacher.
Yea cuz his gf snuffed out his dreams and aspirations lol
RIP Kevin Clark. Drummer Freddy is still alive in our hearts.

"If you're so desperate, quit low-balling us..." LOL! Best line of the film.
Only bass girl didn't get to show off... Proves bass is like oxygen in air of rock.. It's important yet no one cares to admire it on its own entirety.
You would like the band Tool, never afraid to let the bassist do his thing. Listen to Schism, 46 & 2 and some others

Primus is good if you like funk.
Haha you can tell the kids truly loved him.

MrJayel27 During interviews for the 10 year reunion. All of them said he was funny and the nicest guy. The man would play during set

the "Jackass" credits
“The movie is over but we’re still on screen. Everybody’s rockin and we came from horace green” the best part of this ending imo 😂

I just love when jack black dresses up as angus from AC/DC and plays the same guitar he plays
When I watched it and heard he got a school uniform, I instantly thought of Angus Young.
Always wondered where I recognised that and as a big acdc fan I am really kicking myself
don't knew much about ac/dc but as i heard the song i knew it was ac/dc cause of their style !
That was a 1968 Gibson SG. In mint condish.
He kinda sounds like a mix btween Brian Johnson and Bon Scott. Literally 2 lead singers of AC/DC. Rip Bon Scott.
one of the most underrated movies I know! what a classic..
I watched this as a kid and thought this was an original song. Still kicks ass knowing it's a cover.
Drummer like Kevin does not need any rest nor peace.. Rock In Paradise Kev!

The fuck? 🤣
It wasn’t till 5:45 i realized that jack black is a very good actor or he is just crazy
Nick Maille JUST THEN? LOL what about during the ENTIRE MOVIE? Lol
Or as a cartoon panda
he's both lol
That's just jack Black
I think this is just Jack black being Jack black. Hes just naturally odd and funny. I dunno how people kept a straight face making this film 😂😂
What’s really awesome, is that this movie was partly based on reality. School Of Rock actually exists. It’s a really great program. I spent a good chunk of high school as a student there. I learned a lot. Performed at a lot of cool places.

These children are it. May success bless them all of their lives!!!
"School of Rock" was the first time I ever heard "Long Way To The Top" but once I heard the opening riff, I could instantly tell it was an AC/DC song.
Rest in Power Kevin Clark, you’re soul beats on forever in history!
Fact: Jack is not acting in this movie he’s 100% being himself & i think thats beautifull 😂😍😍😍
He always prioritizes having fun
"Wait no no, just the band, OK everybody go!"
I always love that moment.

They did film her bass solo but the editors cut it for time. Mistake imo!
Rebecca
Even on the reunion the bass solo was too simplistic th-cam.com/video/refCJcJJZso/w-d-xo.html
She was also really sick during filming this. I doubt she even wanted to do one.
blondie was one of the best actors in this whole thing in my opinion, her facial expressions throughout this scene especially were perfect
I absolutely love that Lawrence just did his own shit xD Not even the same song, same key, or same tempo, just did his own fucking thing.
This movie inspired me to take a guitar and rock the world. Still pursuing the dream!
R.i.p Fredy Clark best drummer ever with a good soul rest in peace😢😢
Great show🎉
This scene never fails to put a huge smile on my face
I still find it amazing that all the kids really had to play the song and had to play it in 1 take.

I love how Freddie doesn’t even wait for him to finish. Jack Black’s like “take it away” but Freddie heard “drum” and he was already OFF
