I really enjoy your reactions videos of Taylor. At the beginning I was a "hater" of taylor but then I started to ask myself why people love her and why she is successful, so I began to listen her acoustic and live performances, her albums and I was totally in admiration. She's such a good artist!
@oh-ef absolutly! You might wanna check her live performance of Betty. I would advise you to listen to the acoustic performance that made me fall in love with her (I advise you to watch the music video first), it's the Out Of The Woods acoustic Grammy performance. If you love rock and Roll, I would advise you the 1989 live performance of We are never ever getting back together (I don't know if you know this song but it's not originally a rock song 🤣)
Wait she performed that song as a rock song? Haha I’ll check that out, thank you!! 😊 I almost did a reaction to her live performances of Betty but I think it was around the time I barely reacted to the song so I thought I’d wait! 😝
@@ohef17 haha you're welcome! She made some lyrics change for her Betty performance (she swears in the CD version), but Taylor with an instrument is so good! She's so good in live! I can't wait to watch you react to her live performances :)
this is again about losing her masters. she left a part of herself in new york when she was run out of town by the media and haters after the kim/kanye incident. people ripped her apart so brutally, she was the most hated person the world for a while and so many people were calling her a snake and canceling her that she went into hiding for over a year. the media couldn’t even get a single photo of her during that time. and she was recovering from her breakup with calvin harris and his betrayal at the same time. so it was a REALLY bad time in her life. and she is saying that what scott did to her was just as bad. taking her art and selling it to her enemy, her bully, the man who would get his clients to be friends with her just so he could get info and secrets about her and told his other clients to harass and bully her. well that betrayal was just as bad as what scooters clients kim and kanye did. and yet she still kind of misses him because they used to be so close. but he didn’t believe in her enough to give her full control and wouldn’t sell her back her original albums without locking her into a new slave contract. she’s started re-recording her original albums but the damage has been done. she will likely never own her original masters and rich men who have never created anything in their lives now own her life’s work.
I’m pretty sure this is about the CEO of the her previous record label. She basically built that record label up with the CEO Scott Borchetta and she loved him like family because he saw something in her from such a young age and rlly gave her a chance to write her own music when no one else would. She was the first artist in his company and they both trusted eachother immensely but he sold her masters without her knowing and it hurt her a lot. Because he was like family and saw her grow up just to backstab her like that, that’s why she wrote this song. When she mentions “how they pulled me a part, but what you did was just a dark” it’s because he knew about how Scooter Braun tried to ruin her reputation with Kim and Kanye West back in 2015 and continuously, but he still sold her masters to him.
The lyrics of this song, it’s the saddest song on the album which is full of sad songs. I don’t know what kind of music you normally like, but if you wanted to try another Taylor song but not an entire album, I have suggestions of songs that are similar to this, although she is a pop megastar, right? If you liked this album, try the following: 1: all too well, Red album but it’s famous from the Grammy’s live performance (if no one is in the stands, then it’s is just the rehearsal) 2. Daylight and the Archer from Lover album. I’d even throw in Cornelia St live from Paris, which is a very popular one to react to 3. Dear John from Speak Now 4. Clean from 1989 album 5. New Years Day from Reputation album (my favorite of her albums) These may have a similar vibe to folklore, heavy lyrics you need to pay attention to
Please after the Lakes, do more of her live stuff. Here are some of our fandoms favourite ones : all too well from the Grammy Awards 2014, out of the woods from Grammy Awards 2016, I did something bad from 2018 amas and her artist of the decade performance from 2019 amas. Love u buddy 🥰.
@@ohef17 she is best live! There are some great live versions out there that are spectacular. It depends upon what kind of music you like though. I agree with picks above from Ashish. Besides all too well, those are all performances, which are great, but I"d add Don't Blame Me from the Reputation Tour. but I really like her acoustic better, so if you are interested in Taylor singing while playing guitar or piano, instead of the big performances I'd suggest Cornelia St and Death by a Thousand Cuts live in Paris, Delicate Live in Chicago, my personal favorite version of Lover is from SNL (no version compares to this one), maybe Wildest Dreams live remastered in 4K from the 1989 Tour which has good vocals, and Out of the Woods and Blank Space from the Grammy Museum performance, and the BBC Lounge London Boy I really like this one, and finally going back to teenage Taylor with Mean live from the Grammy's (she wrote it about a critic who gave her a bad review, so 16 yr old Taylor wrote a Grammy winning song about it and destroys the guy in front of the world at the Grammy's).
Thank you 🙏🏽😊 Yeah, maybe not in the near future, I’m going to take a break from full albums, but I know I’ll end up doing it again. I’ll keep doing Taylor tho 💩
As you listen to other songs, if they have music videos react to them. She puts just as much into her videos as she does her lyrics. The songs come even more to life! Also, Taylor once said “she has always wanted her music to be about lyrics. No matter what type of production you put on top it, when you strip it down the lyrics are meaningful.” Which in my opinion is why she has been successful in every genre she has done. There is so much to the lyrics, always! Swifties love when people discover how talented she really is because sadly the media has always portrayed her in a different light.
