Thinking she went from guilty as sin to the smallest man about MH in such a short period of time...both such greaT writing and totally different ends of the emotional spectrum. She's brilliant!

Taylor and Matty had some kind of situationship for a decade. Some of the songs on Midnights are about him. We just didn't know it at the time. He helped her write a song on the album, but she took it off. Last January 2023, Taylor played Anti-Hero for the first time at his concert and sang a song of his. At one of the shows he came to last year he had on a shirt from Taylor's 1989 Tour. Taylor's music isn't his taste so he would not have kept a tee shirt for 10 years with Taylor on the front unless he cared. He was an H addict when they first met. He was asked about Taylor in 2022 and he said he didn't think he could date her because it would be emasculating. He said they were cool though. Taylor and Joe broke up several times and I think there might have been a little overlap at times too. I think they have always had a connection but both moved on because of his H. addiction. I think he hoped he could handle her level of fame because of their strong connection but when he came to visit when she was on tour he realized that he was right before that he felt too emasculated even though they had a strong connection.

Just had an epiphany about the line, “did you sleep with a gun underneath our bed.” I used to think she was referring to the person she is singing to but now I think she’s saying my partner’s and mine’s bed; further added to the context of, “it wasn’t sexy once it wasn’t forbidden.” Implying the bed was hers and the person she was in a relationship with that this other person was sent to wreck 🤯🤯🤯 I’m so mind blown right now and it’s not even funny. I’m sure someone’s already written a dissertation on that and it just clicked for me but I absolutely love discovering new aspects to her songs on the daily. For anyone who doesn't know, this song is really focused on Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun. She MADE Scott's label, Big Machine, when she agreed to sign with him and trusted him with her career for years. Then Borchetta sold without telling her and included her catalog even though he had promised he would never do that. Scooter Braun only paid what he did for Big machine BECAUSE of Taylor's catalog. Sure, Tim McGraw and a few big names had joined after Taylor, but it was HER catalog he wanted. So these 2 men conspired behind her back to take what was hers and thought she couldn't do anything about it. Well, she showed them, didn't she? Has re-recorded all of those albums and re-released them as her own. Her fans know to NEVER listen to the ones that don't include "Taylor's version" as part of the album title. Anyone who think she's not smart as shit and not able to respond when stabbed in the back? I dare you to try it and see what happens. Go Taylor!

Jehovah’s Witness suit = Matty Healy. For sure. I chuckled when you had the shotgun because in the live performance, she performatively gets shot twice and her dancers also get shot from the ricochet. The performance is so good!
