Great video William, thanks! Would you be able to make a comment on the riding comfort on longer trips with the clip-ons? I'm wondering how much the difference is between the RS with the handlebars and the moto2 edtition!
There is a Hokkaido trip series on the channel. Did over 2,000 km in a week, I think that says it all! Manageable? Definitely, but also 100% more uncomfortable than the Rs
Hi! Great video! I live in Tokyo, happy owner of a speed twin 1200 from 2019. I have been considering a yellow RS but having a second bike sounds ludicrous since I don’t want to sell the twin. Looks like so much fun though… I haven’t been able to make up my mind for over a month now 😂
I have the same bike. I too experience the same irritation with vibrations. I fitted grip puppies and that made a huge improvement for my hands. I fitted 255g bar end weights and that made zero difference. Unfortunately the mirrors wash out above 70 mph. The autoblipper is inconsistently blipping or not on the downshift. Up shifts are great. But overall I find the bike amazing. Stay safe.
Solved the mirrors with after market ones but yeah the vibrations stayed. Just got used to it🤣. Quickshifter got a lot better after warranty replacement. Ride safe as well Richard and thank you!
@@massimobroccoli9854 my bad, missed “distribution” in your last comment. Forget the clean and adjust then, frankly speaking I don’t have a clue why it will rattle at such low mileage.
@@johnhilliard2273 That's news to me, great for the 2022! I did check for the designs on my dash and unfortunately they are all in the butterfly style or a design that the rev counter comes towards you, and agian, not great =(
How are the super corsa's faring? are they close to needing replaced, I've got an RS but I'm changing to Rosso 4s as they're better suited to the UK winter.
Very different. One of my riding buddies is on a ‘22 MT09 and the engine has a lot more torque and has a sharper throttle. The seating position however is too relaxed in my opinion, very upright with high bars. It comes down to preference I think.
Agree with your nitpicks especially the TFT dash. The one from my 2017 RS was so much better. I would add another one - the fact that the exhaust is one piece from headers to outlet so it's not possible to add a slip on without replacing the headers. Annoying. BUT, that said, it's an incredible looking bike that handles so, so well that I can forgive it almost anything.
Agreed, great bike over all. Exhaust-wise, since swapping them in Japan just cause you more problems then benefits I am actually quite ok with it, looks nice too.
You definitely didn’t listen carefully yourself, I mentioned this because of the run in period, where you need to stick under certain RPMs, now of course it won’t be as much of an issue. But in the end, a bad design is a bad design
I enjoyed this video more because I got to see what Japan looks like...
Thanks, more to come for sure
Great review William, not sure if you mentioned it, but what are your opinions on the fuel economy/range?
Manageable, it was around 17km/L for my Hokkaido trip. Gives me roughly 240km per tank
Wow that’s pretty good for me tbh.

Depends on what do you want? If you really want a revy sport naked, make the switch!
I will own a Triple, one day. What a bike. Wow.

I have the same as you, 7500 km ! Great review ! At 5000 km my distribution chain starts to rattle at cold start .
A quick adjustment and clean should do the trick!
@@WilliamInJP Timing chain adjustment ?

@@WilliamInJP Its only for one second by a cold engine not when he is warm , annoying !
Thanks for your feedback.
No problem, cheers!
Was there a feed forward that he responded to?
How does it compare to the Honday CBR1000 Neo?
I suspect you mean the CB1000R? Very different. Way lighter and easy to turn, frame is definitely stiffer, and in my opinion more fun to ride.
@@WilliamInJP sorry, yes CB1000R. Which do you prefer?
@@rl_31123 Definitely the street triple
Amazing, thank you!@@WilliamInJP
You can setup the revs to show above the speedo in number form. That’s what I did.
unfortunately no, that’s only available before the 2020 version
@@WilliamInJP I have the 2022 765RS. Maybe it's just on certain style screens that it will show.

Lots of tread left, but they are starting to feel dodgy with lower temperatures. Am considering to replace them too
Is there a positive aspect about the poor turning diameter? Better overall handling?
Unfortunately nothing noticeable
Any comparison notes on rider triangle for the Street Triple vs the 950s? Lean angle, hips, knees, wrists?
Street Triple comes with lower clip ons, higher pegs
definitely more wrist pressure, hip-wise manageable in my opinion
Where did you find topbox/brackets for it? What kind is it?
SW Motech rack + adapter and Givi box
Looking to get a street triple but im 5ft4in and im older, how tall are you
5’7, both feet can stay flat on the ground
I’m about to pick up a used one with less than 1,500 miles
Can’t wait to take delivery of it
How to compare this bike to japanese bikes?
Which ones?

whats the top speed on these bikes?
need a long straight to find out😂
Not necessary to go through all this work to clean your chain. It can be done much easier 😂
Welp I like to keep it clean.
Really the Rev counter ... get real.
Talking about the bad points is being real, and it also shows there isn’t any huge drawbacks of the bike.
@WilliamInJP so you cannot use your ears?
@WilliamInJP Your mirrors are also the wrong way around .. just looks wrong.
Fat part nearer to you looks better and is factory..

@@terryb8310 the mirrors are done this way for filtering, having it the other way around doesn’t work as well in small roads in Tokyo
i see japan also has graffiti
Definitely, but a fair bit less
