I gave this a Thumbs Down. I did that because the thumbnail of the video made it look like there was going to be actual footage of subarus out in the wild and off road. but all this video had in it was BORING talk with just your face in it.... sure there were a couple pictures thrown in, but it was just your face talking. BORING!! jeez, the least you could have done is put in some video of subarus out there in different situations and how great they are while you talked over the footage. that would have been ok, but this video SUCKED. its not even worth watching.
@@orion7741 Sounds like this was the wrong video for you. There's plenty of people that need to hear what I had to say in this video. You can check out Roam Roadless or Silver Bullet xv if you want trail footage.
Jeeps have solid front axles and articulation, Toyotas have A Trac, Subarus are great for dual purpose, Land Rovers are tanks that just walk up stuff, and Fords you have to fix or repair daily (just kidding they got that axle turn mode that works like a rear dig for the crazy stuff) There are pros and cons to everything. Just get out there, have fun, meet new friends, and try not to break anything. The real enemy are these people trying to close off road trails.
Couldn't have said it better. We'd all be better off being cool with each other and keeping the offroad community healthy. That Bronco feature you're talking about is pretty sick though haha. I wish they were solid f&r but I'm happy to see another actual offroad rig enter the market and carry on an old legacy somewhat decently.
I have a road that's solid mud and deep snow, pick your season. A Subaru, new, does everything I ask but doesn't suck or break with daily driving like jeeps, Ford's, or other things domestic. Honestly, the "off-road tests" I see online are milder than my trail on my property. The Prius we have with a 1.5" lift handles that except in the worst weather. Regular old Chevy truck can do it to. All this lift and big tire crap is semantics. Tell me you're doing it everyday and then I might give you some cred.
A lot of Jeep and Toyota owners believe we don't belong on the trails and i think that's where the drama all started. My last tow truck driver was a Jeep owner and i quote him saying "My Jeep can rip this thing in half" he was referring to trying to pull me out instead of the Dodge Durango that did. Now i think its a bit of a "I'm a better wheeler" thing by making a trail in a smaller vehicle like a Subaru. Personally I've had a few run in with some dudes that blow past you on a trail just being a dick and they each had big lifted Yoda's but they also looked like some tweaker pos and there are always going to bad apples on the trail. I saw that video your referencing but from the Jeeper pov and it was his deflated his ego seeing the Subaru get to the same spot as his built rig, that being said I'm sure it was Silverbullet and possibly Mtnsubie in that video and they also have extremely built rigs. I personally want to try to send my rig up Slip lock in Moab after i get my Torque Locker.
I agree with you. I think it's more of a "you don't belong here" type of thing. My friends have a Built Tacoma and Chevy Colorado and their trucks are definitely more capable than my OBW, but they don't talk trach because I already tell them that they are. That being said, any vehicle can get stuck and be pulled out by a less capable vehicle.
Oh there's gonna be buttholes everywhere haha. I've heard some funny/sh**ty comments as well. But also have gotten props from some of the biggest people in the SW WA Toyota community while on the trails. Hit and miss. I think the video I saw may have been a knock off. Someone sent it to me in a group chat. I don't think it was Milton or Carie's rigs in the one I saw. Their cars always stick out haha. And yes, they're very built! I was just hoping to give people some encouragement to shift their mindset to realize that we can all be trail buddies even if there are bad apples in every camp. I'd love to go to Moab. I need a truck and trailer so I can take both my rigs out there lolol.
Brother you are 💯 correct. 90% of people in 4x4 could careless. 10% are jerks overall. But no reason to prompt an argument because of the 10% out there. Most 4x4 folks are hyped and encouraging to see other builds. Also I cannot stress this enough the 4x4 and truck culture is filled with egos and senselessness, luckily most of those guys are keyboard warriors and rarely in the field. But people need to understand the truck community isn’t toxic because you drive a Subaru, it’s toxic to everyone 😂😂 to each their own and allow others to build what they like and want. I embrace the Subaru and Jeep culture for all the good and bad that comes with both 😅
@@freedom_foz_6337 I think you hit the nail directly on the head. Spending 3 minutes in Club XJ on Facebook will put some hair on your chest🤣🤣 But exactly. The majority of 4x4 owners have always been really accepting and encouraging. Would love to see a lot less ego across the board💪❤️
@@LiftedImports7😂ain’t that the truth those dudes aren’t nice to anyone not just Subarus. Your best line “they show up for a fight that no one knows is even happening but them” 😂😂😂😂
@@freedom_foz_6337 It's crazy. Club XJ is wild. I had to learn how to talk to those dudes when asking a question. Instead of getting bullied after saying "hi guys. OLD Subarus were amazing off-road vehicles. Anything built with a CVT is trash and won't even go off-road the CVT gets hot and shuts down and you're stuck. Ergo making ANY vehicle better than a Subaru off-road. Todays Subbies are not the same as what they used to build, Now they are snowmobiles for the street.

I've always wanted to do a little off roading. I doubt I need a 2" lift and a diff locker but my city has some serious potholes. :)

From my understanding, the wilderness edition Subarus come with transmission coolers that helps with this problem.
@@MrApplesaucestuff It was never a CVT problem, it was a cooling problem.
Non-CVTs still need cooling in high-stress applications (off-roading).
