I don't really understand how that works. Isn't the bucket like 90% of the new content? If it only had the new content that didn't involve the bucket it definitely wouldn't warrant a new game, would it?
It's such a clever feature I thought they had imagined it from the start, cause it lets you see new content no matter the familiarity with the game. This game would be pretty disappointing without it

The bucket ending is pretty clever honestly, because if you think about it, the game is functionally a bucket. It's designed to hold the narrative of the game. The narrator and player aren't buckets because they are held by it. The narrator isn't a bucket because he has no real power to hold you back or limit you in any way outside of persuading you. Stanley (the player) isn't a bucket because the player is inside the game, and fundamentally not controlled by it, therefore making them not a bucket. Games are buckets designed to hold the narrative and the player, and without buckets you have neither.

Sonic Boom is just if an abridged series was a show that could air on kids tv channels and it's funny but if your looking for a show that feels like sonic it's not the place to be. I'd say it's a good show but wouldn't recommend it to anyone coming from a sonic game or movie or comic as a show to get into.
I don't dislike the "it was all a dream" narrative as much as some people. I think it maybe over used. But I like it. Even if you know that's the twist, if it's done right, the artistic imagery of the imagination can be very interesting and fun.
