  • Be my guest! In this video I give you a tour of my apartment in Valencia, Spain. I give you the full tour plus show you a behind-the-scenes housewarming party (with beer pong!). You'll get to see how the house is laid out, what is updated, where I do laundry and dry my clothes, and even where I throw my trash. What do I love about the apartment? What do I not love? Watch to find out in vlog 4!

    Let's see, in Spain, the flats, flats we say here, on the Mediterranean coast, especially from the Valencian community downwards, with the issue that it is not cold, many flats do not have systems to combat the cold. Another different thing is in the interior of Spain, especially in the northern half of the country, where the flats are conditioned for the cold. For example, it is normal to see flats that in addition to having heating for the winter, have air conditioning with a heat pump system, that is to say, in summer they give you cold air through the ventilation grilles to withstand the heat, and in winter they give you hot air to combat the cold. I personally have this system in my flat, obtaining an average of 24-25 degrees all year round. If to this we add thermal and acoustic insulation systems with climalit in the windows and other materials in the walls. The flats in Spain are prepared for the cold, and for the heat. For all this there are building regulations, called Basic Building Standards, which have been obliging construction companies for many years to implement these qualities in new buildings. It is even obligatory to have solar panels on the roofs of buildings in order to make use of solar energy for hot water and heating. Of course there is a lift. Many of the flats that are of older construction, especially in the Mediterranean area, do not have these facilities. However, ask the owner who rented you the flat where he lives, he will certainly not be the same as the one who rented you the flat. Best regards.

    True most Spanish flats are not conditioned for winter.. on the plus your skin will thank you for it.. I used to live in Uk and heating really dries skin and hair..

    We lived in Spain for 3 months in 2019. We plan to move to Spain in 3-5 years, we currently live in North Carolina. My husband‘s grandparents came from Spain so he would like to claim Spanish citizenship. Your channel interests me because we are thinking of moving to the Valencia/Alicante area. I subscribed and will follow your journey. Best to you.

    Hey Erica, loving your videos! I’m in Denver like you were, and considering a move to Valencia this summer. Will be taking a trip there in March or April to confirm, but your videos are very helpful!! Thank you!!

    Hello Erica, fellow Move To Spain classmate here. This video popped up in my feed so you must be doing this vlogging thing correctly. Glad to see you doing well. We are moving in May or June and I hope to bump into at some music venues (or on a gig, canI dream?).

    Niiice :D I really enjoyed this one! I love the dynamics of the video. You recorded it and put it together very well. I get you about singing and thin walls... I guess that soon you won't care about the walls :D It will be awesome if you continue with singing and maybe find another band there and join them (I don't know if you entertained that thought). That sweater, by the way... I love it!

      It took lots of time to edit, and it makes it worth it when someone notices and appreciates the composition, so thank you for saying so : ) And I would love to join a band...though being a keyboard player without a car could be tricky...

    I'm just barely seeing your videos. Great info! I plan on moving to Valencia also on my own. With that being said, how does it work if you have a pet? I know some allow pets and some don't. Is the pet deposit high??? You know in the US it is like $350 non-refundable or sometimes more. I will be bringing my little doggy with me. I won't go no where without her 🙂

    • @EricaBizfunk
      @EricaBizfunk  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure. My landlord didn't ask for a pet deposit (my roommate has a cat). I'm not sure it's a thing.

    Hello! I just stumbled across your video today and was curious if your apt came fully furnished? I am heading to Valencia in April next year for 6-12months and started browsing idealista, globexs, singular stays and Airbnb - prices are so high! I feel like I haven’t been able to find anything under 1100 in the city center…

    • @EricaBizfunk
      @EricaBizfunk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi! Thanks for checking out my channel! Yes, my apartment came furnished and "equipado," meaning it came with utensils, bowls, glasses, etc. (kitchen stuff). That's true for most apartments. If you want to live on your own, I would look outside the city center. It's expensive and loud, and usually very packed with tourists, plus most the apartments there are quite dark. I would look in Zaidia, near Rusafa, Benimaclet, Campanar, or Cabanyal. Good luck!

    Nice apartment! Did you sign a year lease? Did you pay $675 x 2 to move in? How much does the electric cost per month? TY!!

    • @EricaBizfunk
      @EricaBizfunk  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I signed a year lease. Yes I paid for the first month plus another 675 for deposit. Electricity can be between 50 and 100 euros (or more), but we don't use much heating or cooling.

    There is no heat in those old crappy apartements poor (or greedy) people rent.

      It's true there's no central heating, but I wouldn't call them crappy apartments.
