I love these videos, I think if u did more test drives after u do all the dyno testing and turning with 2 point of views one on the driver then on the road it would really help your channel. Shop footage is great but we want to see and hear how it performs, and maybe some pricing or quotes for a general idea we all wonder how much it's going to cost us to go faster. I'll watch either way great work.

Hi Very impressive. You probably have the same quality of fuel like ours here in Melbourne, Australia. I am in the process of getting my EQT VORTEX XL installed but with only AUTOTECH HPFP added in. My LPFP will remain stock. Btw, our golf r mk7 comes from factory with MPI. My car is currently on TVS stage 2+ and its a DSG.
sorry for bumping this now guys (i'm from europe), i was searching online "why upgrade hpfp and not the port injectors (for big numbers)" and i found out with this comment that you guys in north america only got direct injectors in the mqb is that right? could we just get away here in europe with upgraded port injectors and lpfp and leave the hpfp stock? hoping i am not completely off the rails

Awesome build. I have almost the identical MK7 R and build down here in Tennessee except i've got the 6spd DSG. Love my EQT and tune running 93. Haven't gone corn yet though, pretty pleased with what these E888 Gen3s can do with minimal bolt ons.
Yeah definitely easier all around but still comes at a price. Difference is, it's basically factory replacement stuff so it all fits and works just like factory.
A small company did a test on an R today and it made 400whp on pump 93, it seems to be a little smaller than a vortex XL but has similar spool time to an is38

I went with the fx350 from clutch masters. I never launch the car because it is so hard on the gear and I'm not in the business of breaking things all the time. Roll on's are fine for me plus its not fair to someone who doesn't have an awd car cause they'll lose every time.

It will be interesting to see compared to the Vortex XL, in regards to both spool and hp. I think they will similar. However Garrett BB turbos have amazing durability, but also come at a price.

Nope, it has its time and place and we use the products that we know work. It's hard to compare to other brands that are 2xs as much and expect to them to be the same. You're just not comparing apples to apples.
@@COMotorsports how much difference if run on an awd dyno? Is that just digitally disabled or do you have to physically remove prop shaft? Kind of makes me want to do the opposite to have rwd golf but highly doubt rear only would handle the abuse
@@joeszucs2190 you can't do rwd. Haldex doesn't work like that. It'l can only take up to 50% power. Also it's just unplugged to prevent it from engaging.

@@COMotorsports OK? The bulk of the fueling is taken by the MPI. If he wasn't going MPI then yeah, the stock HPFP becomes a bottleneck at peak torque. There are lots of us running hybrids on E85 out there and the stock HPFP doesn't need touched if going MPI. I just hope nobody recommended he waste his money upgrading it. Good video though he will definitely enjoy it. Have to relearn his driving style as it doesn't die off like the IS38 does. The sauce is 6k+; really makes for fun times.
@@COMotorsports I belive it, as fan behind dyno is poor aswell. You need about 10-15kW fans atleast to have proper cooling. I use 7kW on my dyno and need to upgrade to be able to use it in 30+degC ambient temps. I just cant understand why almost whole USA uses so poor cooling systems even for lambo and other exotics 1xxx hp engines.
And on a stock block too!! VW for the win, adding a good WMI kit is a must.

could easily get 550 WHP with a vortex XL hybrid turbo and E85, mid 10 sec car at that point, thats where Im at with my S3

Pretty much have used them all. No complaints, just ensure you're getting a clutch to suit your specific needs.
So Cobb doesn't just do off the shelf tunes?
yes they do... look back at one of our other MK7 video's, we compare the OTS Cobb file vs an actual tune from EQT.

We tune them frequently. But when it comes to making HP we stick to gas stuff.

This "american style" dyno fans is a joke. In europe office desk fans are bigger.
Cool story. This style of fan actually works better than the larger higher CFM fan you see behind the dyno. There's a reason we use them.
