I read this guy’s article on conspiracy theories and the scientific method and his explanations of the various conspiracy theories were hilariously uninformed and sometimes flat out wrong. If you can’t accurately describe your subject matter I’m not going to take you seriously.
Hi bpmotion. I haven't quite worked out how to approach comments like this yet. Certain topics like evolutionary psychology, morality, war, and realpolitik seem to give people this feeling, while other topics like the global warming, hierarchy and power structures, and ecology seem to drive accusations of left wing bias. I want these conversations to be authentic and rich with ideas. These topics are messy, unscripted, complicated, and sometimes unsettling. I'm trying to give complete respect to my audience by not dumbing down the discussion, shying away from difficult topics, or sugar coating. So, on the one hand I'm thrilled when listeners get involved in the discussion, and point out the stupid things I have said, or things that might show bias, or just be flat out wrong. On the other hand I do hope that listeners will be able to zoom out to see the full corpus for what it is, and give me a charitable interpretation wherever possible. So far I've been pleasantly surprised by how level headed and informative a lot of the criticism has been :). Thanks for listening!
