The 91 and 92 games will always be known for the wide rights, but those are absolutely the 2 hardest hitting games I have ever seen. Classic rivalry, great video, Go Canes!!!
I remember I was playing pop Warner football @ this time when this game was going on, they kept announcing updating this game over the pa, thats how serious of a rival this was, man this brings back so many memories
I remember me and dad watching this game my dad cussing up a storm because Florida state was not playing well he passed away in 2013 miss you dad rest in peace
i remember this game as the BEST hard hitting football game ive ever seen. wish u posted the entire game. both teams just unloaded on each other. like a heavyweight title fight that actually far EXCEEDED the hype
Armstead was unreal. One of the best LBs ever to play here. It’s a shame a injury cost him a year Dude was nasty, fast and could hit That set of LBs will never be matched
2 things I can’t believe the emotion of these teams in the 90s my god in real. The We look like statues these days. No leadship 2-. Do we even have reverse in our playbook
I was at that game and I jumped out of my shoes when they missed that kick to tie wide right!! What a great series between 2 heavyweights! Miami always won the close ones!! GO CANES!!!
Some of the most exciting and talented teams ever to play against each other. Every time it seems like the more exciting the game is, it is in Miami's favor.
7:13 That's Kevin Patrick paying tribute to #98 Jerome Brown who was no doubt the most dominant and old school D-lineman ever to wear orange and green. He died in June of that year. That's how deep the Miami family goes. And if you want a clear definition of Canes D, just watch the two consecutive plays at 9:56
@canefreak2001 as a college football fan in general i do wish they had both sides highlights because Fsu vs Miami is such an amazing rivalry but im not stingy...so thanks for the upload.
one thing I love more than anything is watching Florida state lose espically when they lose to the Canes & Gators my first love is Florida my 2nd love is Miami & my 3rd love is whoever beats Florida state
This was the year I graduated high school in Tally...being freshly moved up from Miami I was constantly mocked as a Canes fan. I can still smell the soundness from the Niles!!!😂😂😂🙌
I always wondered what would have happened that season had that kick been good. This game would have ended in a 19-19 tie since there was no overtime back then. Both teams would have ended the regular season 10-0-1, and there would have been a huge controversy over which one of them would play Alabama for the national title in the Sugar Bowl.
Marcus Ribbon if you’re talking about the stickers on the backs of the helmets that’s for JB and Shane Curry who both died in 1992. Had their old Miami numbers 98 and 44. Jerome Brown was probably the third in a great line of Miami defensive tackles from back then. Started with Jim Burt, then Kevin Fagan, JB, Cortez Kennedy, Russell Maryland, Warren Sapp.
I grew up with Gino Torretta and played high school ball with him, it's a trip seeing old highlights of him..i remember watching this game back in the day - totally amazed and shocked that Gino was on tv lol - this clip brought back memories, thx for uploading it.
See.. This is why college football needed a playoff back then. These were epic regular season games that meant everything. In fact who ever won these games were basically crowned champs even before the bowl game.
That return man who pitched the ball out the end zone would’ve been better off taking the safety. The ending was disastrous as it was but if Florida State had recovered, it would’ve been an illegal forward pass. Which might’ve been a safety anyway because it occurred in the end zone. Better to lose two points instead of seven.
Man they hit back then. Today’s game seems soft. Compared to this. Looking at armstead , he is amazing how sad are recruiting has fallen off PS love old uniforms cut offs
I can't belive that a person could be stupid enough to field a punt at the one, go into his own end zone, then toss the ball out. That desveres the title "Stupid Punt Return I"
what if fsu makes the fg? it ends 19-19 no ot remember? so who plays bama? does the other one play texasanm whos undefeated ? do we get a spilt champion?
You should show the flow of the game -- much better. I'm not a fan of either 'Canes or 'Noles; just wanted to see an abridged replay of the game. Otherwise, good highlights.
Did you read what you wrote? This is why a playoff WOULD NOT be needed. That's why this regular season game was so memorable; because it was all or nothing.
That makes no sense. Neither one of these teams won the NC in 1992. Nobody ever crowned anything before bowl games unless you are talking about the 1950's and 1960's. The bowl coalition began in 1992 to make sure they got the 2 best teams in the a bowl against each other. Before that the bowl games had conference tie ins and you rarely had #1 vs #2. In 1992 the Alabama Crimson Tide won the NC.
0100-0112= Iowa vs Miami, September 1992. it was the first night game ever in Hawkeye Stadium. I believe the final score was 24-7 in favor of Hurricanes. It believed it was aired nationally on ABC Saturday night football. By the way, Duke used to have ugly ass uniforms during the early 90's era.
I wonder if fsu makes that fg it ends in a tie no overtime. The ? is fsu 10-0-1 / miami 10-0-1 and there was alabama 12--0 who would have played for the title???????????????

Patrick was a beast in that game
What a great time that was to be a football fan!!
Torretta made sick throws
I remember I was playing pop Warner football @ this time when this game was going on, they kept announcing updating this game over the pa, thats how serious of a rival this was, man this brings back so many memories
Old skool football right here. Love it
Armstead was a stud man we miss LBs like him
the Barrow hit at 10:30...lord have mercy....
robert hahn that would be considered targeting in 2019. Football has gotten so soft now
That Micheal Barrow hit @ 10:33…must have rewound and re-watched that 10,000 times as a kid. Even had a 'Canes poster with a pic of that hit.
no doubt. that hit was stunning and unforgettable. different times.... they don't even play like that nowadays.
Keith Jackson is legendary commentator
Agree I’m sick of espn AKA his call on barrows hit is a classic
Miami, the best bad ass teams of our lifetimes!
I remember me and dad watching this game my dad cussing up a storm because Florida state was not playing well he passed away in 2013 miss you dad rest in peace
wow what a game...Kevin Williams was unbelievable the way he put the shakes on FSU
Of all the great FSU MIAMI games, this one was the toughest in my opinion.
Thank you for posting games from the past.
i remember this game as the BEST hard hitting football game ive ever seen. wish u posted the entire game. both teams just unloaded on each other. like a heavyweight title fight that actually far EXCEEDED the hype
Seems like almost every player mentioned in this highlight was in the NFL.
My first big game in the Orange Bowl as a freshman at UM.
BODESLAMM: From one “Canefreak” to another…praying 🙏 you’re doing well
That 2 year series 1991 and 1992 were some of the best games ever, especially since I was at both games lol. All about the []_[]!
@umcane79 you are absolutely right. Even 20 years later, you will be hard pressed to find NFL games with the same intensity!!!
One of the best games in history.
..great memories
Armstead was unreal. One of the best LBs ever to play here. It’s a shame a injury cost him a year
Dude was nasty, fast and could hit

2 things
I can’t believe the emotion of these teams in the 90s my god in real. The We look like statues these days. No leadship
2-. Do we even have reverse in our playbook
@prod1gy3000 Wrong. Patrick was paying tribute to Rusty Medearis who couldn't play due to injury. Medearis also wore #98.
I was at that game and I jumped out of my shoes when they missed that kick to tie wide right!! What a great series between 2 heavyweights! Miami always won the close ones!!
GO CANES!!!
Miami cost Tallahassee 3-5 National Championships in the late 80s and early 90s.
Some of the most exciting and talented teams ever to play against each other. Every time it seems like the more exciting the game is, it is in Miami's favor.

This is the championship game. Orange Bowl will always be king.

I am a Miami fan. There was no overtime then. Florida St should have played for the win.
Shout out to the late great Jerome Brown on the Canes player's decals
Marcus Ribbon if you’re talking about the stickers on the backs of the helmets that’s for JB and Shane Curry who both died in 1992. Had their old Miami numbers 98 and 44. @@sickofguysnamedtodd2293 then shortly after that you get Damien Lewis, William Joseph, Jerome McDougal, Vince Wilfork.
@@sickofguysnamedtodd2293 oh shih....ldk Fagan and Burt are Canes!! Im a niner fan also.....good stuff.
I grew up with Gino Torretta and played high school ball with him, it's a trip seeing old highlights of him..i remember watching this game back in the day - totally amazed and shocked that Gino was on tv lol - this clip brought back memories, thx for uploading it.
At this game I was a recruit!!! THIS WAS A BLOOD BATH AND A EPIC FINISH !!!! Charlie Ward was on the run the whole game
just met barrow in vancouver canada. class act and man what a beast
craigclass man he killed vanover on that screen
See.. This is why college football needed a playoff back then. These were epic regular season games that meant everything. In fact who ever won these games were basically crowned champs even before the bowl game.

PS love old uniforms cut offs
RIP JEROME BROWN IT WAS NICE TO SEE THE JB ON THE HELMET
Don't forget Shane Curry
Yep, Big Jerome Brown, as me again and I'll knock you down!! Arguably the greatest nose tackle the pros had ever seen, he was already the best in CFB!
I can't belive that a person could be stupid enough to field a punt at the one, go into his own end zone, then toss the ball out. That desveres the title "Stupid Punt Return I"
FSU we own there ass!! Wide right 😄😄
Oh man I love miami hurricanes, it's like a day without canes is like a day without sunshine.
jessie fuckin armstead at 2:53......whooooooooooooooo!!!!!!
@1:40 Miamis Kicker tries to kick the returner to avoid fsu td lol Even the kicker is a badass cane lol Hurrigangztaz
Always wanted Florida State to win these games, but they were always exciting fun and talented matches.
Miami is daddy in this state.
A Classic!!!!
Bob Griese at the end regarding the missed field goal: "Looks very familiar..." I love that. Get used to it Bob, you'll see it a few more times.
They don't play football like this anymore.
what if fsu makes the fg? it ends 19-19 no ot remember? so who plays bama? does the other one play texasanm whos undefeated ? do we get a spilt champion?
Holy Moley those boys are killing each other on the field. Talk about hard hits!
The kicker tried to trip vanover
Love keith jackson ( theres a solid hit put on him by jesse armstead out of dallas tx ) armstead was my favorite lb
I don't mean to trivialize the term, but this game was about as close to a war without weapons as you'll ever see.
agree the whole gAMe both qb got punished
@etchosts i showed the opening kickoff buddy, you should be happy I put that in . This is an All Canes Channel. Find an fsu fan to go make highlights.
You should show the flow of the game -- much better. I'm not a fan of either 'Canes or 'Noles; just wanted to see an abridged replay of the game. Otherwise, good highlights.
Miss you bro hope all is well with you
now didn't Dwayne the Rock Johnson play in this game
Bobby Bowden at 12:01 CLASSIC
Do you have the game from 1991, where the Canes smashed Houston?
Did you read what you wrote? This is why a playoff WOULD NOT be needed. That's why this regular season game was so memorable; because it was all or nothing.
MiamiSouthPaw, was the JB for Jerome Brown and the 98 for Rusty Medearis? I always thought they were both to honor Jerome Brown?
Canefreak2001, do you have the classic between these two from 1987?
If only we hadn't lost the national title game that year to alabama this wouldve meant soo much more sigh what couldve been
losing Stephen McGuire the year before hurt our bruising style running game and our best defensive player rusty medaris
(during missed field goal replay) Hammer time!
What a game this was.
Whenever someone runs opening kickoff back makes the other team complacent
do you have the highlights from 1994?
Due to the dumbass targeting rules, people can't hit like that anymore
The SC sticker was in tribute of Shane Curry.
Hey you forgot to add the best game of all........Ohio State vs Miami 2002.... Willis McGahee getting his knee smashed to smithereens ha ha ha ha ha
ВОЗНЯЯЯЯ
The Hurricanes have stickers on the back of their helmets that said "SC". What's that for?
@knightguy11 sorry about that....
That makes no sense. Neither one of these teams won the NC in 1992. Nobody ever crowned anything before bowl games unless you are talking about the 1950's and 1960's. 10:32- the thing I remember most about this game...
Miami always beats F$U when the money's on the table.

@FRSFreeStateNow Miami costed my Sooners national titles in 86 and 87
was that uncle luke at 13:06?
whooooa nellie
@knightguy11 excuse me....
or highlights from 1987
How does Miami make ward fumble on their own like 10 yard line and not get points?
i remember that butMiami turned it over right back with a bad snap
@TheOusooner56 Sooners got a title in '85 and 2000
I look at this and I say screw the targeting rules, let's hit Winston like that this Saturday
@TheOusooner56 I'm just playin.......Good day!
lol hell yeah
I wonder if fsu makes that fg it ends in a tie no overtime. The ? is fsu 10-0-1 / miami 10-0-1 and there was alabama 12--0 who would have played for the title???????????????
@AyyTran lol

Wasn't Bama undefeated?
1992 Alabama beat Miami in the Sugar bowl to capture the National title.
i heard the kicker tried hanging himself after the but when he went to kick the stool away he missed wide right
@canefreak2001 Great work as usual. Ignore the semenholes...er trolls. haha
