They had called The penalty against Miami that was questionable and I think this was their way of trying to even things up which is still wrong but I agree it was one of the greatest plays that never happened LOL. Exactly. In 1989, Curry made the decision to throw the ball on virtually every down. They conceded that they could not run on Miami. #1 Miami was heavily favored to win over #2 Alabama. Miami was on a 29-game winning streak and had not lost a game since 1990. This game was the first BCS Champiinship and the 1992 season was when the SEC implemented the first Conferemce Champiinshion game that eventually forced every other conference to do. Alabama had a chip on their shoulder. The last time Bama had won the Natty was under Bear Bryant winning both the 1978 and 1979 National Chanpionships.

Taking NOTHING away from ALABAMA they were the BETTER Team that night. Alabama would not WIN another National Championship for 13 years until SABAN arrived. Miami REBUILT their Dynasty under Butch Davis in 1995 and would go on to play in 3 STRAIGHT National Championship Games in 2000,2001( National Champions) & 2002. 2 GREAT Football Programs. Will be hard to replace SABAN when he walks away. CRISTOBAL now has the task of Re-Building the Miami Program for whom he WON 2 National Championships as an Offensive Lineman for MIAMI in 1989 & 1991.
