At 14:55, that was a class act and great plug B Mustberger did for Frank Gore. Boy, was he right. Frank Gore will be in the NFL hall of fame. This was a great game. I miss these days of Mia.
Hester legit saved the game with that block! Our offense was atrocious up until the last 2 min, so I know we would’ve lost if they would’ve went up 13-3 with 4 min left in the game. Hester deserves just as much credit as Rix does for this win 😀🤣.
I had seen the Hurricanes play many times since 1991 but never at the OB. What a glorious night that was. Even met Brock & Greg Olsen the next morning at AllCanes. Oh & Chris Rix is my favorite Hurricane QB of all time. Thx Chris for everything u did for Miami football.
My daughter was born during this game. The wife was in labor. We went to the hospital in the 1st quarter. Got there and they told us they were doing an emergency C-section. She was born healthy and they got my wife to a room. I went to the car for our bags and this game was still on in the ER waiting room.
Just got to say, Chris Rix, was the best thing to happen to Miami since South Beach😂😂😂😂 Through his four years, Rix completed 41.5% of his passes, threw five touchdowns and NINE interceptions. And also, Rix was 0-5 against Miami
I was at this game! My only time going to a Miami vs FSU game! The atmosphere waz crazy! No assigened seats I loved that and oh I would never forget the amount of pretty college girls that were there that night. i was so wasted and I had a fuckin blast!
This was my first ever Canes game my freshman year. Will never forget this one. With the exception of the 2007 Super Bowl, this was the best game I've ever attended.
Feels like Miami has never been the same since they got rid of the Orange Bowl. They should have rebuilt a new stadium instead of That Marlins stadium which is always 3/4 empty. That stadium was the heart and soul of Miami football.
Hard Rock is great, but my dad and I have so many great memories in the OB. This one was probably the greatest. We cried like babies when Gore broke the plane lmao RIP OB
The way teams play in the SEC copied Miami's and Florida State's style of fast and athletic defensive lineman and linebackers along with overall team speed. Miami had this style of recruiting players with superior athleticism back in the '80s then FSU copied Miami. Its evident today in the SEC and thats why Alabama, Auburn, Florida, LSU, etc. are so good. They copied The U!!!! Real Talk!
Also, I was at this game. Me and my dad were all the way at the top right above the O in Orange. So many tears of joy when he broke that plain. I hope when I have a son one day we can share the some kind of moments at Sun Life :)
aha! found it. This is one of only 2 college football games I've ever been to. Both were in the OB! First one was back in 92 against FAMU... we all stayed just to watch their maching band. BUt this game... WOW!!! talk about a thriller. Hope the CANES can get back to greatness!
there was just something about that Orange Bowl. I bet you no one was happier the day it was bulldozed than FSU.went there for several big time canes games, what a great atmosphere there, i was sad to see it go
There for this one! all the way on the top row between the uprights. Seeing Frank Gore running into the end zone, disappearing behind the lower part of the crowd was one of my greatest memories at the Orange Bowl. My dad and I were in tears because it was such an amazing finish! RIP OB
@ileorin They were good against conventional offenses. Jimbo Fisher's offenses averaged 30 points a game against him. Unorthodox offenses.. Shannon had major issue scheming against them.
Hopefully our 4 star quarterback in the 13 class will give us some more rings. I'm telling u, the U is rising again. Its only a matter of a few seasons. I'd bet money on a championship in 2016. GO CANES
if u were a fan of either team, why on earth would u miss the labor day games ? 10-7 ? those were the worst games ever played by those teams in the rivalry
@DApostalz777 Chris Rix was better than Lee and Weatherford combined. He was the best FSU had at the time. Did you not see the Sugar Bowl debacle with Fabian Walker in? He may have turned the ball over too much, but at least he moved the ball. I can't remember which season, I think it was 06 or 07, but our offense used screen passes instead of run plays because we were that bad offensively. Rix was long gone by then.
NCAA can't afford revenue drop from the death penalty. The SMU Mustangs hurt them bad and I'm sure they haven't done the DP since then. I'm sure hoping they don't though, I wouldn't watch football until the penalty is passed :/
ok, what about 3 straight wins, one being a blowout when we were the underdogs, and that bs game in 2011 when the refs were trying everything they could to give Miami a win, but the U choked again haha
At 14:55, that was a class act and great plug B Mustberger did for Frank Gore. Boy, was he right. Frank Gore will be in the NFL hall of fame. This was a great game. I miss these days of Mia.
Man I miss these uniforms
I miss them too..nike made the canes uniform look bad ass in those days.
Sprinting cutting Miami wins it Frank Gore 🙌🏽

Miami needs more Brock Berlin's. Dude was clutch as shit
6:40 “…and Chris Rix has turned it over”
That's How Tha U Put Lights Out💪💥💨💨💨💨💨💨
I had seen the Hurricanes play many times since 1991 but never at the OB. What a glorious night that was. Even met Brock & Greg Olsen the next morning at AllCanes. Oh & Chris Rix is my favorite Hurricane QB of all time. Thx Chris for everything u did for Miami football.
The best QB that Miami had: Chris Rix..L0L..
Rix would be an FSU god after these past 4 years lol
@@DickTogo712 5 years now lmao
Yes 0-4! Great Miami QB
My daughter was born during this game. The wife was in labor. We went to the hospital in the 1st quarter. Got there and they told us they were doing an emergency C-section. She was born healthy and they got my wife to a room. I went to the car for our bags and this game was still on in the ER waiting room.
Thanks so much for these videos! These bring back such great memories
Just got to say, Chris Rix, was the best thing to happen to Miami since South Beach😂😂😂😂

I was at this game, Chris Rix was my favorite player he always found a way to throw the ball to Miami. Fsusucks
#SemenHoles
Travon Clarke Canes owns FSU even now 3-0 in 2017, 2018, 2019 and again in 2020 if they play at all this year
Roy Ortega 3-0 vs FSU in 2017, 2018, 2019 recently
@@austincruz5757 4-0 now !
Frank Gore college highlights…… I feel old
I was at this game! My only time going to a Miami vs FSU game! The atmosphere waz crazy! No assigened seats I loved that and oh I would never forget the amount of pretty college girls that were there that night. i was so wasted and I had a fuckin blast!
How bout them Canes!
Classic!!! Go Canes
This was my first ever Canes game my freshman year. Will never forget this one. With the exception of the 2007 Super Bowl, this was the best game I've ever attended.
I was at this game too. I was a Senior :)
Seriously how many years was Chris Rix there. Seems like I've peeped like 5-6 vids and he's been the quarterback for all 6 years.
4 years
+Nathan G. 5 years
Miami played FSU twice in 2003. Also Chris Weinke (also #16, was QB in 2000).
Both of these teams are my college football teams and that is straight facts 💯
Miami hurricanes was good when I was a kid 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Chris Rix the greatest Miami Hurricane QB of all time hands down
Feels like Miami has never been the same since they got rid of the Orange Bowl. They should have rebuilt a new stadium instead of That Marlins stadium which is always 3/4 empty. That stadium was the heart and soul of Miami football.
6 in a row...the good ole days and never understood why Devin Hester wasn’t really get playing time
Rix was the best thing that happened for Miami in this series. lol. We owned his arse.
Went to that game amazing
my first and last time at the orange bowl. after having this game held back by hurricane francis it was much more sweeter
Chris rix was awfu
its insane fsu chocked in 2002 2003.2004 chris rix didnt have it they really outplayed miami in these games
I believe Rix is the only QB in college football history to go 0-5 in his career as a starter against one team.
Need that 2003 West Virginia game up there. The whole last drive with the Winslow catch was thrilling. Thanks for these.
As a canes fan I think Rix was a genuinely great kid. Another thriller by Miami!! Go Canes 🙌🏽
Rix was a frosted tip, tool•
Bernie Kosar hugging Brock Berlin like if he was his father lol
There's a reason Rix never beat Miami, he's a pro at choking
Its crazy to see Frank Gore still playing in 2020 🙌
So true! I was at this game and it's mind boggling to still see him play 16yrs later on Sunday's!
Damn, Chris Rix just couldn't beat us lol
I still can't fathom that they tore that place down
We've sucked ever since. Haven't had one good season since we moved.
+Holyfriedeggs this could be a good season upcoming
derek d I'm still heart broken about it.I hate seeing that stupid baseball stadium I wish they would have remodeled it
To many bad memories especially will al golden was there but I love our new stadium hard Rock stadium is awesome🔥💯
Hard Rock is great, but my dad and I have so many great memories in the OB. This one was probably the greatest. We cried like babies when Gore broke the plane lmao RIP OB
Should have never demolished the orange bowl
i get mad thinking that they built a stadium for the marlins on this site. THE MARLINS new stadium took presidence over the ORANGE BOWL!
@ileorin Anybody was a top notch DC with all that talent dude ......
Vilma
Wilfork
Sean ( RIP )
DJ
Maurice
etc
This was the last game in the Orange Bowl I believe where the east end bleachers were used.
Man I miss this good times let’s hope 2020 is our year GO CANES 🧡💚
10:22 not only can Devin Hester return punts he can block them
It's great to be a miami hurricane!
Man I remember this game. I think that is when I started drinking. 😁
My 1st ever game at the OB. Was an ugly ass game but we pulled it out. Chris Pix is my favorite Hurricane ever. 0-5 Vs dem Canes. Lmao
This was the game that was played the day after a major hurricane watched it with generator power at the house
Rix had like 20 turnovers vs the Canes in his career hahahahaha
The way teams play in the SEC copied Miami's and Florida State's style of fast and athletic defensive lineman and linebackers along with overall team speed. I was forced to leave this game early this was my first college football game I ever went to
This rivalry means so much more than any other ones! A better rivalry than Florida vs FSU to me!
Lets go canes!!!
there was just something about that Orange Bowl. I bet you no one was happier the day it was bulldozed than FSU.went there for several big time canes games, what a great atmosphere there, i was sad to see it go
Chris Rix was Miami's best QB ahahahah
One of these days, FSU/UM will mean something again.
Baraka Atkins and Roscoe Parrish...two of the best football names ever
i'll never forget how many cramps in this game!!!
Sorry but Chris Rix lost that game for the Seminoles.... He played horrible
Miami OWNED Chris Rix!!!!!!!!!!!
There for this one! all the way on the top row between the uprights. Seeing Frank Gore running into the end zone, disappearing behind the lower part of the crowd was one of my greatest memories at the Orange Bowl. My dad and I were in tears because it was such an amazing finish! RIP OB
RIP OB 😢
If only the canes were this good now
Rix was hot garbage against the Canes year in and year out
(17)Miami is ok. Florida State is ok.
@ileorin
They were good against conventional offenses.
Jimbo Fisher's offenses averaged 30 points a game against him. Unorthodox offenses.. Shannon had major issue scheming against them.

QB coming in for 13 season is from wayne,nj, one of the best QB's in country, greg olsen's brother kevin..
This aged well!
I miss the Orange Bowl....Sunlife Stadium is a POS
@blackonefifty a winning record vs Friggin Shitty University
@ileorin
Except for the fact that he never found out how to scheme against running qb's..
And Jimbo Fisher kept his number.
GO CANES
ITS BEAT FSU WEEK!!!!
if u were a fan of either team, why on earth would u miss the labor day games ? 10-7 ? those were the worst games ever played by those teams in the rivalry

never should of demo the orange bowl.....
Until they played teams like Louisville or Virginia Tech.
Or a team with a running quarterback.
NCAA can't afford revenue drop from the death penalty. The SMU Mustangs hurt them bad and I'm sure they haven't done the DP since then. I'm sure hoping they don't though, I wouldn't watch football until the penalty is passed :/
@Canes033 Yeah. Jacorey Harris can relate. :)
Chris Rix kept making mistakes & the FSU defense couldn't make the big play when they needed to, that's why Miami kept beating Rix & the Seminoles.
Brent musberger
did u just reply to yourself ?
every game where florida state loses is a great game
@brojam11
31-24, that's all.
Kudos if you're bright enough to figure out what those numbers mean.
@ileorin so sorry :)
FSU sucks im u fan and im Born in the eighties
45-17 that's all.
GO MIAMI
ok, what about 3 straight wins, one being a blowout when we were the underdogs, and that bs game in 2011 when the refs were trying everything they could to give Miami a win, but the U choked again haha
u must not be talking about anything within the last 3 years
How about the Noles 5-7 finish last season? ;)
I will bet u a blank check on the U not winning the championship, not even the acc in 2016 !!
@LatinG187 Brent Musberger....worst announcer in college football, or at least tied with Verne Lundquist.
What was the score in the FSU vs Miami game last Saturday ? oh yea 41-14 !!
Bloop
