    Some of the comments on here are just absolutely rude. If you didn't like the video that's fine, but there's zero need to insult the women who put themselves out there to help you.
    I really enjoyed the video, and will be looking in to others they've done. Thank you, ladies - you're beautiful, strong, and I appreciate you!

      I am a complete beginner, but I have been using a "complete beginner" yoga workout routine from TH-cam (by YogaVidyaEnglish) for about 2 months. Hoping to try another one, but this one doesn't really seem like yoga to me. It just seems like stretching. Yoga, to me, should be spiritual. Check out YogaVidya's video called: "Yoga for Complete Beginners - Yoga Class 20 Minutes" -- It is the first yoga video I've ever felt comfortable with - specifically because it seems like actual yoga. I'm curious to know if you guys ever implement true Yoga into your routines and if so - could you pass on a link? I cannot get into this other stuff. There's something fake and bland about it that makes me feel uncomfortable for some reason. Thanks so much, in advance, and I truly mean no offense.

      There are many different styles and types of yoga; Hatha Yoga, Tibetan Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Bikram Yoga, Power Yoga, Jivamukti Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Vinyasas Yoga, etc. That is just a few of them; there are many many more.
      They are all real types of Yoga.
      This is what is called basic Sun Salutation which is a sequence of poses (called asanas).
      The Sun Salutations called "Surya Namaskara" in Hindi are a foundation for many different types of yoga. This is a basic foundation where all yoga flow (sequences of poses) begin.
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surya_Namaskara
      If you were to go to India, many of the people do "Yoga" as a purely spiritual practice which focus on meditation or even worship. Not all styles of Yoga include the physical practice of asanas.
      As an added note; What you have been doing is even more basic than this video. It could be called "beginners yoga for relaxation" even. As the practice progresses it gets much more intense physically.
      This video is one step up from that video. The Sun Salutations are used as pre-workout warmup for more difficult flows in Yoga classes.
      Here is a link to the Sun Salutation on YogaVidya. You will see it's the same sequence.

      Paul M - Just to be clear, my comment wasn't about what you or others think of this video. It was about how I personally feel about this video, while kindly requesting something that I would feel comfortable with (while also describing what I am comfortable with). And I do think that you could benefit from a spiritual yoga practice to maybe cause you some hesitation before calling someone shallow. I mean that in the sincerest way possible. Especially when what I wrote was far from shallow. I said that this video [doesn't really seem like actual yoga "to me". It just "seems" like stretching.] You have to read each word in order to understand the meaning. All too often, when reading what someone else writes, people tend to come up with their own interpretations, and this is a great example. All of this is based on how the video makes *me* feel. There is no reason for you to defend it.

    • @KT_Pierce
      @KT_Pierce 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      PsycheTruth - I don't think you understand at all what I requested of you. I very clearly commented on the way this video made me feel and requested a very specific type of video, but you handed over more of the same. I have [severe] Fibromyalgia, Lyme Disease, PTSD, and a plethora of other health issues that prevent me from doing plain and simple core/strength-building "exercises" that don't specifically focus on the spiritual aspects of the practice. I do feel strongly that the suggestions you made went completely against my requests. I truly don't understand why I would be attacked for stating a completely non-offensive opinion about how something made me feel (without actually attacking anyone or anything). If I said that it made me feel uncomfortable, as a true Yogi, would you not want to try and help me along my path by making a response + making suggestions that would bring comfort to my request?

    • @KT_Pierce
      @KT_Pierce 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** At first, I felt like you might be the only person to reply to my problem with a helpful response until your last sentence, "Do some research on the subject and you'll be surprised at what you find." Why would you assume that I do not know that each move has a deeper and profound meaning? My request was specifically for a link to a yoga workout that implements the spiritual aspects into the practice (not just assumed, but verbalized and experienced in that way). I am truly saddened and appalled by the way each one of you have responded. I wish you all healing and awareness in your journeys, and I say that kindly and humbly, and not as someone who looks down upon any of you. I mean that with more sincerity than - without knowing me - you could ever know.

    Finally found the right yoga videos for Myself. After injury and quite a long time away- I've regressed to beginner stage. Your videos are perfect to get me back into it without immediately doing scorpions, etc. I'm continuing to watch each day until I feel strong enough to begin watching your more advanced videos. Thank you for taking the time to actually teach a class rather than the videos I've seen where they simply show you each pose without the breathing techniques and time to relax into the asanas. Have a great week. ~Sydney

    I found this video very helpful, I'm 17 years old and in chronic pain and my doctor told me I need to start doing yoga everyday. I subscribed to this channel because I loved the way she explained everything. (Wasn't a fan of her asking about her hair, but that wasn't a deal breaker for me.) Would definitely recommend to people who want to focus on flexibility, relaxation, and wellness :)

    I've stumbled on your videos in a random search...and love your channel. Thank you for taking the time to share these videos with us. I sincerely want to begin doing yoga, however I've had several back surgeries including a herrington rod (80% of my spine is fused) so all of the spine twists, curling and 'rolling of your back' are physically impossible. I see many comments of people who are looking for similar videos- due to injuries, or ailments. Could you please consider making a video for beginners where one of you is doing the regular pose, and the second one is doing an alternative move/pose? Thank you so much!

    To everyone else, if you don't like this video then just go somewhere else, instead of leaving unnecessary comments. A 10 second comment about hair doesn't deserve so much negative commentary.

Your voice is so soothing and easy to work along with, I require a nice voice to help with the relaxation process and I find many others quite patronising almost. I have just started yoga and still building strength to hold pose and balance so your short videos gives me enough to work to. Thank you for this video. Yoga has always seemed intimidating to me. I'm not flexible, and I have a lot of soreness and tension in my back. This workout was a good combination of relaxing and challenging, and I imagine the routine will become easier as I continue to try it. Thanks again!

    I was able to complete my first yoga workout with this video. It was more difficult than I thought. I am overweight, but working now on becoming more healthy. Yoga seems like a good supplement to Cardiovascular exercise. And Meera , I do like your hair better after it has been braided. You make yoga fun. Have a wonderful day.

    I've been working on my flexibility for a while (particularly splits) and I feel as though after one time of doing these yoga exercises it made me get closer to the ground than before. I definitely will be doing these exercises more often. Thank you.

    Thanks for this. ONe of my FB friends, was talking about yoga and how it makes her feel better. I told her I would try it out again even if it's for just 10 mins a day. This was great. My knees are bad so going down to one knee hurts but I made a commitment to myself to do this for 30 days. I've picked this video to start with and I look forward to doing it again tomorrow.

      Hi Kenny, that's awesome that you're making a commitment to this practice. If you have bad knees a couple options for you - put a blanket or towel underneath them so they have more cushion. Or you can keep your back leg extended/straight/off the ground so you're not putting weight into the knee. This will actually make your lunge harder, but will protect your knee more. Please let me know if either of these works for you or if we need to find more modifications. And keep up the great work!

    Excellent relaxing well taught practice. ..To the people commenting about instructor mentioning hair briefly : It It is a main benefit of Yoga, in fact ,to teach us to find balance and alignment within ourselves. If you turn away at the smallest annoyance you will find it hard to get the deepest benefits, but it is a choice. We are human and beyond the fact that we can and do err ourselves regularly, there are always variables in life that make it enjoyable but also they can bring distractions, irritations, chaos and other things we find hard or 'wrong' . Stuff will happen. No matter how much effort we put into perfecting those things outside ourselves (such as our performance), there will be mistakes, bad moments, failures, near misses, etc. along with the better outcomes and experiences. We can only control our own inner response and experience of the external event. I heard the comment, I thought it added a personal element, that maybe it was intended for close followers or subscribers and I let it go. Its not a big deal, especially given the quality of the instruction. The instructor is young, she hasnt been producing video for 20 years but the instruction is clear and well paced, yet its relaxing. I havent found many free videos that meet my expectations.
    To the instructor: Thank you for this excellent video , Im a long time Yoga practictioner and a Registered Nurse- I get picky about my videos . I like the hairstyle - I used to braid my hair to get waves like that too and now for some reason my hair is wavy on its own after children!

    Good mornings for me really started in finding this video. I usually find that I am sore from the nights previous workout at the gym. So once I am up in the morning I give my son his milk and he lays down while I do yoga. This video helped me stretch out my back and also gain some more core strength, which was awesome for me to experience. My difficulty is a bit more once my toddler gets onto a mommy jungle gym while I am holding a pose. Little 26 pound extra baby belt! haha! I really enjoy the smooth movements, although I would say I like the pace of the first set and as you speed up the following 3 I find it has less of a smoothness to it.
    On the hair note, it does not bother me, we are human after all, plus if I had such long hair I would ask to, why not :). I do think wavy is nice. Natural hair flowing frames your face in a very friendly way.
    Thank you for my morning calm yoga video, I have been doing this video every morning for a bit over a month and really enjoy it! Have a wonderful day!
