There has to be a work-around in the software where you can modify the 09. Someone, in the future, I hope, will research the difference from the pre-production 09 and the current ones. May be as simple as changing jumpers .
O9. You have to find specifically the rare preproduction units(grey with smoth glossy faceplates and no M on the back, just a blank circle) otherwise it wont work with an XTL in any meaningful fashion. Normal O9s will work with APXs
I have a question you might be able to answer for me. I have an XTL5000 configured for remote mounting. Am I chasing my tail uselessly but I have been trying to program the radio via the microphone port on the 05 control head but nothing happens, program says cannot find radio. When radio is configured for remote use do we program via the port on the back of the brick? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks
Most XTL bricks with O-series TIBs don't support USB programming through the TIB, only the CHIB. That being said, I have run across some that do, so your results may vary.
O *WHAT* head??!!!??? 09 mate not 05. EDIT: shame it won't work with the 07, I VERY much prefer the 07 head in most cases, where the 07 doesn't work the 03 does. Only ever need an 03 or 07.

Negative. It's the firmware that's loaded on it. So if you get a preproduction, don't connect it to an APX or you'll wipe it out
