The "skybox" is so good in this game. The station slowly orbiting Saturn and rotating itself with the dynamic lighting from the sun makes it easily one of the best I've ever seen.
I can only imagine how faint the Sun light is at the distance 9,5 times further then here on Earth, but still it can be strong enough to illuminate a skybox like this.

I like two things about this. Firstly the station properly rotating around Saturn. When was the last time you saw something like that in a video game, even now it's all largely static background to save performance. And then yes I love the ambience and that guitar is quite a vibe. Can't wait to play more of this remake.

i would've prefered more industrial ambience like SS2's engineering this has a more otherworldly vibe to it while that game felt more grounded in reality and a "listening to my fav playlist in this dire situation" vibe i have to admit though the graphics are very high quality and i love that saturn view
It's sad that "Welcome back to Citadel Station" was replaced by this. It was a well-liked remix of the original Medical OST. This new ambience is better off being the main menu soundtrack or something, pretty sure no one would complain about that at least.
Yeah, finally put my finger on it. It sounds like Borderlands non-combat ambience. Although it's a compliment to be compared to Jesper Kyd et al. I think the soundtrack should sound scarier.
Not really big on the ambience. Sounds more relaxing than anything.. but like to be fair how do you go about translating the fire AF original song in Medical into a creepy atmospheric score???
I think this sort of atmosphere kinda complicated the isolation and loneliness while walking around the Medical area, and almost everywhere you go will put you on edge. I felt like that myself the first time I've played this game, and this is my introduction to System Shock.
This is a remake of System Shock 1, not System Shock 2. SS1 had guitar in its soundtrack (Even though it was MIDI guitar it was still guitar). If they were remaking the sequel I'm sure the soundtrack would be way more synth & electronic focused, but this isn't supposed to be that.

I think the music in this game is amazing, find it so relaxing and creates an atmosphere that I think fits the game.
