I have 8 Harvest units and 3 Bounty units. Growing tomatoes was a bit difficult and time consuming because they got so large, I was always pruning them. I decided to grow tomatoes outside on the lanai instead. The Bounty did well with peppers but they did not grow to full size. I also decided to grow my peppers outside and they produced much better. I do have great success growing various salad greens and herbs in the Harvest units. Currently I'm growing many types of lettuce. Butter crunch, Parris Island Cos, Gourmet lettuce, Arugula, Spinach, Dandelion, Iceberg. And I will soon be starting baby Bok Choy and Swiss Chard. And the greens stay fresh in the fridge for months, unlike greens from the supermarket which last a few days or a couple of weeks.
I live in Florida, in a very small house with no room inside for aerogarden. I want to put it on the lanai. How do I turn the light off completely since I want this out on the lanai? Any tips for growing on lanai?
@@patshook1088 When you plug it in, that starts the motor and the light, but you can use the button on the front panel to manually turn off the light. If you only want sunlight and no artificial light, there are other simple hydroponic kits without lights, you may want to try some other option instead of the aerogarden. It's designed for indoor growing.
This video is great, thank you!!! Can you please make a video showing how to prune each type of herb to encourage low growth like you mentioned? Currently I have curly parsley, dill, chives, Genovese basil, tarragon, and thyme, but I'd like to know about rosemary, sage, and oregano too.
Thank you for this informative video! I have a few units coming in this week and am so excited starting this journey. I am a master gardener and just hoping my skills will translate well into hydroponics. 💚
Very helpful! I am getting an Aerogarden Harvest tomorrow on my local Buy Nothing group. Obviously, it does not come with directions as it is well used. You have done a great job letting me now what I need to do to successfully set up a lettuce garden. Thank you!
My light goes on for 15 hours then turns off and I don't know how long it is off during the night but I always turn it back on in the morning, is that the right thing to do or should I leave it for a bit with no sunlight?
Thank you so much for these informational videos. I am planning to start growing my own greens and some fruits/vegetables as well. All of your videos I have viewed so far are so helpful! Looking foward to learning so much more.
We’re definitely constrained by the maximum height of the unit, but I’ve had difficulty when things have grown to wide, and one plant has crowded out another such that it doesn’t get enough light. I’ve also had mold or mildew at the base of plants which I attributed to lack of air circulation. Any thoughts?
Thanks for all the info, this was very useful. After years of wanting to do this I bought a sprout just to see how it works (firsthand.) Basil has started sprouting. When i figure out where I can make some room I might get one of the larger ones.
Hi, I accidently bought a box of 6 seed pod kit but I don't have the machine to grow them in. Hahaha. I didn't know I need the machine until I saw your videos. Is there anyway I can use these pods? They are golden harvest cherry tomato.
Look up “kratky method”! Easy way to do it without a machine. A lot of people on Etsy 3D print things to easily place aerogarden pods in mason jars too
Hi new just purchased harvest elite want to grow lettuce herbs sm tomatoes maybe bok choy too. First time using. Where should the knob for the pump be? Pls. Left Right or in center? The directions don’t say all i get when i search is “if the pump isn’t working”
Hm not sure what you mean by knob. The pump is inside the grow basin, and for set up there should be a cord in the back that you plug in. I have a Harvest set up video that walks through it: th-cam.com/video/_PFUTuHO_tQ/w-d-xo.html
I don't know how you can say you don't recommend the sprout because it's "too small". It's good for people in small spaces or apartments, or smaller kitchens. It's whatever works best for someone given their circumstance.
Dont waste your money on Arogarden , i payed around $350 for the Bounty elite, after 3 years the lamp stoped working and couldnt find it on the web site. I contacted customer service and was told that my only option was to buy a new garden sunce 5hey dont sell the light by its self. Just more junk going in the landfill, dont buy.
@@sodd1000 It's real ,I got it for my gf for Christmas. Light failed to come on I looked on the official web store ,they don't sell the light anymore . It's true check for yourself . I contacted the company and they told me that it's past warranty and I have to buy a new garden
Don’t understand why people spent so much money and time on aerogarden for so little return, those plant that can be grow are the easiest to grow and cheap.

Sure, will work on one
You are a good teacher. I bought one yesterday and wanted to learn how to get prepared for it. Thank you 😌
Great video . I learned a lot. Glad I found you just a few weeks after I got my garden.

I love strawberries but the store bought ones are always a let down. Have you grown strawberries and what would you grow with them?
I just received my harvest kit for Christmas. Great tips, thank you. Good video.
Thanks!
Thank you
Good video. I am growing parsley, mint and chives. I like you suggestion of small tomato plants.
You made great videos! I have had my Harvest Elite for about a week now, and the dill is sprouting and I'm excited!
I didn't see any of those caps in my model. Is it okay to have them growing without the caps? I just started mine a couple of days ago.
I cut off the end of a water bottle and used it.
Thank you. Super helpful.

Best video on these growing Systems🌱 Thank you so much!
Very detailed - thank you!❤
Thank you. My sprout didn't have any instructions when I lifted the tray out.
Thanks for posting this great video!
If you haven't found MIGardener seeds by now, you should check them out. I get better germination from MIG than Baker's Creek. Love them both though.
Have you ever tried to grow spinach in your AeroGarden. So far I have not had good luck on that. If so what brand work the best. Thanks
Spinach is tricky to grow hydroponically bc it doesn’t like wet roots unfort
Oh I did not know that thanks for the info.
How much light do the herbs need?
Great video. Thanks
Can you transplant to a pot with dirt when they get too big? Or does the plant require remaining on the hydro diet?
Great tips, can't wait for mine. Thank you!

depends on what you're planting! some need more space than a single hole, so you can leave some slots empty
My Aerogarden has done great! I am starting over ( after cleaning ) with new pods and rarely hear my pump running . Is this normal ?
I don’t usually hear the pump! But you can double check if things are working, there should be a “test pump” option on the unit
Is it advisable to put an Aerogarden type device in an enclosure? This is with respect to being located in a cooler area, such a basement.

yes! just plant in soil as you regularly would

can i grow hydrangeas with this?
Yes you can grow those and sunflowers with the tabletop one.
You could modify the height super easily, if you were so inclined.
Hi there. Great vid. How many holes should you allow for greens? For example should you plant every other pod hole? TIA
Fillerup! 1 per pod for greens 🥬
@@SherSheGrows depends on leaf spread. Basil and other broad leaf plants should not be planted next to others.
I don’t know why, I love your voice.

Gardening is a hobby and hobbies cost money.
I live in an area with an extremely short growing season. The aerogarden is perfect for my needs and a great hobby
I wanted fresh herbs and greens, year round. I am hoping this works. Shopping for one, I have so much waste.
I love fresh herbs but have a really hard time keeping them alive so this is perfect for me
My windowsill is doing the job
Sounds like Alvin the chipmunk
