The model comes with a kit included. If you choose the herb kit, its an assortment of the 6 herbs i mentioned. You could also order a custom 6 pod of different types of basil, you’d just have the herb kit as an extra 6.
Not to brag, or nothing (here comes the brag)I got the cherry tomatoes to germinate in FOUR days (instead of seven to ten listed on the pods. I set the Aerogarden on a heating pad set to low. Tomato seedlings love heat. But yeah the dill didn't germinate for me either.
Usually I prune as I use it. If I need to trim a bunch at once, I’ll put it in one of these contraptions in the fridge: amzn.to/30ThqHJ it preserves them as fresh herbs for a long time You can also chop up the herbs into an ice cube tray, pour in oil and freeze as little cubes
Freeze or dehydrate imo. I’ve used inexpensive brown paper lunch bags to dry regular super bountiful potted herbs (last two summers) with no issues. Just strip the leaves off and toss into paper bag. Let dry naturally. Then you can grind them up and make fresh spices or even add to oil for herb infused oils. Hope that helps!
I love your video. your kitchen is beautiful, u must b RICH. It's pronounced Jeno VAY zee, just so you don't sound ignorant. Genovese basil is what you make PESTO out of. You can cut all your plants down to 4 leaves and they will grow back. Cutting stimulates growth. The plants love it. It's also best to never let your plants go to seed it'll make your plant bitter tasting.
I have had of timing a root , I plant heba s and vegetables , and I never timid my roots , and working with plant s sense I was little mom doesn't , but I have never head of it so Really don't konw now ,
My 2 curly parsley and my thyme never germinated. My two AeroGardens live on top of my dryer in the laundry room which also has a window. My cherry tomatoes went outside as did the jalapeños and did fairly well. Flowers sure didn’t grow like their snapdragons did.No comparison to my tiny ones. You U tube Thai Basil much huger than my Thai leaves. Ah trimming roots- that must be my problem.
@Sher She Goes Just curious - after six months, did your herbs start to die? I read that they only provide enough fertilizer for about 5-6 months so would you have to buy the fertilizer separately if the herbs were to live past 6 months...?
The plants were all full grown by 6 months, meaning they were as tall as the max height of the aerogarden harvest model. You can move them out at that point to make room for new plants, which is what i did, or keep them and just use lots of herbs every other day or so. Yes, i also bought new fertilizer. I got this one: amzn.to/2Sot2eh although any brand is probably fine!
Hmm basil usually grows like a weed. Did you prune the top two leaves once it had about 5 leaves? That helps it to grow outward and bushy 😉 But for context, in the thumbnail that’s about 6 months of growth

where is the grown plant nutrient content analysis ? just because it looks like a plant does not mean it is nutrient dense ,you could be eating food less food...
Myth. There’s really no noticeable change in electric bill. Besides, have you looked at your actual utility bill? 80% of my bill is fixed costs independent of usage. At 11 cents/kw hour running the Harvest for a month would be ~$1. Cant get a single herb for that cheap, much less a month’s worth

@@SherSheGrows Yr video helped me with some questions I had, nice to see it from setup to full growth. Wonder if full sun would make this grow even faster, I have a huge window that this would be placed in front of. I appreciate the links since I want to use my own seeds for herbs I want to plant. Great video, thanks !
@@jocarolepersonal hi suzy, glad it was helpful! the aerogarden lights are very strong, so i don't think the plants really need more sun, but can't hurt to try moving around the aerogarden unit and see if it makes a difference!
Can I order one with all basil?
The model comes with a kit included. If you choose the herb kit, its an assortment of the 6 herbs i mentioned. You could also order a custom 6 pod of different types of basil, you’d just have the herb kit as an extra 6.
Sher She Goes ok thanks
Spend a little more and get the Elite Bounty model.
I’m going to buy it from Costco but my question are the seeds organic? Thx
They are non GMO, implying organic.
Is the light on 24 hours a day or 17 hours a day
The exact hours depend on what you’re growing, but anywhere from 15-17 hours

Not to brag, or nothing (here comes the brag)I got the cherry tomatoes to germinate in FOUR days (instead of seven to ten listed on the pods. I set the Aerogarden on a heating pad set to low. Tomato seedlings love heat. But yeah the dill didn't germinate for me either.
haha wow that's fast! good tip on the heating pad 👍
What do u do with the stuff u prune ? Can u freeze it.
Usually I prune as I use it. If I need to trim a bunch at once, I’ll put it in one of these contraptions in the fridge:
amzn.to/30ThqHJ
it preserves them as fresh herbs for a long time
You can also chop up the herbs into an ice cube tray, pour in oil and freeze as little cubes
It's also best to never let your plants go to seed it'll make your plant bitter tasting.
can you put fish in there?
Hmmm not sure, but i don’t think so!
My one garden is 146 days going.
If you trim from the sides it will grow up .I f you trim from the top of the plant ]they will bush out from the sides.
@Sher She Goes Just curious - after six months, did your herbs start to die? I read that they only provide enough fertilizer for about 5-6 months so would you have to buy the fertilizer separately if the herbs were to live past 6 months...?
Amazon shows the option for auto ship after a period of time, so seems re-purchase is necessary. How long? I think it depends on the individual plant.
The plants were all full grown by 6 months, meaning they were as tall as the max height of the aerogarden harvest model. You can move them out at that point to make room for new plants, which is what i did, or keep them and just use lots of herbs every other day or so.
Yes, i also bought new fertilizer. I got this one: amzn.to/2Sot2eh
although any brand is probably fine!
@@SherSheGrows can you do an update video ? I would love to see how it’s going long term. Just got mine today and excited to start :)
My basil didn’t grow a lot after one month😩I’m so jealous of your garden really grow nice!!! How? 😥
Hmm basil usually grows like a weed. Did you prune the top two leaves once it had about 5 leaves? That helps it to grow outward and bushy 😉 But for context, in the thumbnail that’s about 6 months of growth
Cover the holes with tin foil. Paper will let light in.
Thick paper towels folded up a couple times work fine! The best ive found is actually nespresso espresso pods - perfect fit for the spaces
love your voice
Hi your voice is very soothing please don't take this the wrong way but is it possible that you could do a 15 min A.S.M.R VIDEO i am sure that there are lot's of other people that have heard this video and would like to hear you at least try an experimental A.S.M.R video . from kelvin south wales U.K
😅☺️ ah haha im flattered thank you, but filming a simple video is about all i can handle right now!
simply planting however it set with a lot of packing material and electrical needs ...
Don’t they attract ants, fly or
Mosquitoes?
Nope! No bug issues whatsoever. I think it’s because there’s no soil...
Have you noticed any bugs when growing the herb kit ?
There’s no issue with bugs, because there’s no soil. Trust me Im PARANOID about bugs 😆
You don’t really need the food til germination.
where is the grown plant nutrient content analysis ? just because it looks like a plant does not mean it is nutrient dense ,you could be eating food less food...
Lo necesito en español
Your kitchen doesn't have enough outlets
Light flashes power???off
r*
The amount of money paid for electricity could have bought fresh vegetable at the market every week.
@daxflame they stole your idea.
+ ur home have to be hot or l put tinfoil around it buc of cold Canada here
