My one gripe with it that unfortunately seems to persist through all upgrades is that they went way to hard on the "counter a specific build type" fights (half of those are pretty much instant losses, with dragon vs gift and darkness vs targeted orbs) being the most egregious examples) and generally the enemy balance seems to be a bit all over the place.
@@doomse150 I do get that, yeah- stage 2 used to just be the "horrible unless you have piercing, then easy". Now you also need to worry about that mirror shield guy, which means you need a mix of projectile and single target orbs to stop from getting huge reflect damage
@@coryman125 I can almost get behind those kind of "soft-counters" that are like "you might have to press 2 more heals if you have the wrong build", but yeah, even those are quite a bit over the top, for example the ghost starting with 1 peg can be hell for any build that doesn't have shield/tankyness because of how slow he is to kill and how much damage he deals per shot. But the once that annoy me most are the complete hard-counters. Like the darkness fight going "all of your targeted orb are 100% useless now" or the dragon going "oh you picked the gift, the total number of pegs per shot is 3 take it or leave it" (although the new map layout makes it slightly more bearable) which kinda made gift unpickable, unless you're okay with losing your run on a 1 in 3 dice roll. Another thing that I just got remembered by through a run of my own is how terribly ambiguous and sometimes outright misleading some descriptions can be. For example the double edged sworb used to (idk if that is still the case) deal self-damage on every refresh it triggered, while the description explicitly states that the self-damage is part of the "when drawn" refresh effect and should not trigger on other refreshes.
Editor has outdated information 😭😭 the starting relic no longer gives muscircle I think it only gives balwark, either the amount of orbs in your deck, or your highest damage on an orb times 2, whichever is higher. I might be wrong tho

I liked that tyler was complaining about not being able to get in the middle of the pegboard in the mushroom fight, yet he was still hitting a refresh every single throw while he was complaining
Tyler: "i cant even get to the middle section!" Also Tyler: hitting the refresh every time he opens the middle up, thus powersliding away from it again.
The description on Balladroit at the start is outdated (starter relic). It now gives ballwark at the start of battle equal to your amount of orbs or 2 times the highest crit damage in your deck.
seeing how the magnets work sometimes it gave me an idea; they could so totally have a board layout in the mines with some sort of "outside powerslide' using a black holes gravity to slide orbs on the outside of an arc
Leaf requires any two pieces of refresh synergy but with them is quite potent. I would say refilibuster doesn’t count because it nerfs it’s damage a lot but refresh punch can be enough reason on its own
24:06 Maybe don't refresh the mushroom cap with every single shot if your goal is to get to the middle pegs below it? You're actively making that fight harder on yourself by insisting to keep up the top layer that shields the majority of the pegs and the bombs.
I got the leaf, refreshes do damage based on empty, and the relic that makes refreshes activate nearby pegs. It one shot the dragon boss, because refreshes activated other refreshes and other pegs and refreshed those pegs. It was insane.
Hey Tyler, I don't know if you know this, but there is a way to disable the Crucible at the menu. If you just click on the word 'Crucible' it will disable it for the character you're playing as. So when you're done and you just want to play for fun, you can do that and not have to worry about any of the restrictions that make it too hard/unfun for you.
Just now realized the map is basically a plinko board. As if you were navigating with a theoretical bell curve, if it didn’t all funnel into one boss fight.
You have done a recent build when you played in the past but you should try to do another crit/criticus (or however you spell it) build. there is a relic that every time trigger a crit the targeted enemy gains a random debuff. It is honestly a very amusing build.
Eh, a lot of boss relics can brick the run and leaf is probably the best one out of all, +10 refreshes is VERY good with any refresh synergy. Refresher course(common btw) + ball of lightning? Now you have +20/20 after every shot. Cookie? You are almost immortal. Knuckles? At least 1 muscircle every shot. Light shaft potion? Well, I don't need to explain why 10 extra crits is broken. You don't take leaf every time, just like sapper's sack or chalice, but when it appears and you have something that works well with it - it's an automatic run winner. I actually now take refresher over good 2/3rds of other common relics just in case I get leaf.
28:10 Honestly really dislike how most of the fight was cut out here. Thats like the one fight I'd be curious to see with the magnet build, how good it is at finding the refresh repeatedly. But every magnet throw was cut out for some reason.
Watching him play early crucibal’s is wild. It’s so easy you could win every single game with the base orbs. There is absolutely no challenge to this game until crucibal 12-13ish… I’d be interested to know his win rate for 16+. Because it gets insane at that point.
Not sure if this was noticed already but at 5:57 the rainbow slime and the plant seem to occupy the same spot so the peball hits both enemies. I wonder if this was always the case but before the rainbow slime enemies would never stack?
I’ve been rewatching some of the old peglin videos and it’s amazing how far this game has come
I recently binged all the videos from after the coins and shop update. The ones before that, it almost feels like a different game
I agree, it was pretty bad... now it's pretty good 😅

That last Poltorbgeist was glorious.
Chopping Ballock is how Karate Peglin takes down Scottish Peglin.
A run centered on reloading would be interesting, with the bad cheese, the no damage while reloading, and a thin deck, could be cool.

Depends on your build.
If you have something that procs on refresh and multiball/lightning you can very quickly get a lot of damage rolling.
I hope they add more levels to Peglin. On top of that, I want to know the story/lore of this game.
