This game is absolutely sick. If I were to compare it to Slay the Spire, it has less of a focus on getting more powerful, but a far bigger focus on moment to moment decision making. You really do feel like a bada** samurai dancing through armies, and at its best you aren't even thinking about what you are doing because you can just know at a glance what your next 5 or so moves should be. I really hope Tyler keeps playing this, because it's really fun and I for one will absolutely watch it. 2:36 I guess Tyler heard him say "swapping won't help you" and just believed him?

Some small notes; in the one boss with the 15 health summoner, it's better to leave the summoner alive, as otherwise you have no way to block arrows or shurikens (you basically are required to use the summons as meatshields to do damageless on that fight) If the health potion is on sale a a shop for $2, you can buy it and then sell it for a profit. I hope this game gets enough love for more videos, cause he only scratched the tip of the iceberg on this one. There are dozens of weird interesting tiles for strategies that unlock as you play
@@mcarrowtime7095 No it's still very powerful. Stacking upgrades and then lowering a cooldown on an attack lets you use it more than your other un-upgraded attacks.

This was pretty great. It looks so fun, looks like there's a lot of possible strategies and combos to try out. I can't wait to see more. This was sponsored, right? This was actually a good one!
Obviously this game harkens most to slay the spire, but the positioning and manipulating enemy movement reminds me a lot of radiant historia, a turn based RPG for the ds. Man, I remember loving Shogun Showdown like 2 years ago on Itch... the game's been heavily polished, and the core game is still pretty much as I remember. Awesome to see it's fully released now!
I love this game so much. I have around 60 hours of playtime at this point, and I still haven't completed a single run hitless. If you do play more of this, my only advice is that you should overthink things. Combos are fun.
I love this game. It kind of reminds me of "Fights in Tight Places", I wonder if Tyles is going to play the sequel "Knights in Tight Olaces" when it releases
I've been playing Shogun Showdown in EA since you first played it on your channel. Now that it's fully out, it's a GotY contender for me. Love this game
Oh i love this, one of the times im thankful for the sponsorship, hope to see more of this in the future Wild that you only made 1 video about the game before that, i swear it was at least 3...
Some big Into the Breach energy here, love the look and gameplay of this game, perfect information type games are very under-explored imo, always makes you feel good about your own good plays.
Actually the plus one upgrade slot doesn’t use an upgrade slot so it’s plus one slot and minus a cooldown. (Also wildfrost got its full release so play it)
I play video games very rarely, but I pulled an all-nighter for this one. I found some of the higher difficulties surprisingly difficult, in a good way. It's also fun to design loadouts with dramatic finishing moves and big combos.
I really hope Tyler plays more of this game... I could see this being a peglin long kind of series all the way down to the last achievement. Spoilers: True Mastery - Get every Ultimate stamp with every character that is beating the game truly but I don't know if the series will last long enough for him to get it. I can only pray that he keeps taking on challenges til the very last drop of blood falls. Oh shit sick i thought you were done with this game My personal favorite build is perfect strike/free play kunai, perfect strike resets the cooldown if the move exactly kills an enemy and kunai hit for one damage once per point of damage the tile has so it always triggers. Free play also lets you add a move to the attack queue without losing a turn so if it has enough damage nothing short of a boss can even try to hit you

27:53 fun fact: before the steam release, Kowa had two boss slots because they ran away from the first fight
