    I did it! I found it easiest to use toothpicks for all the sections, once I realized that, it was smooth sailing. Thanks so much for the tutorial 😊

    Excellent instructions! Thank you. Tooth picks (or in my case bamboo skewers) were helpful on the ends, but a little cumbersome. I found it easier to get the prongs aligned in the slots if I used a fabric marker (the disappearing ink kind) to mark the slots. Wish I'd found your link to the pleater hooks before I bought mine at a local retail fabric chain. Yours are MUCH less expensive!

    Thanks so much! May I ask what the final panel width is after pleating if you have any idea? Thank you

    • @AButterflyHouse
      @AButterflyHouse  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You probably lose 5" of width for every pleat, so maybe 35" at the top? The bottom is obviously the original width of the panel (57")

  • @styzoom
    @styzoom 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Do you need more curtain width for this technique? How much more percentage compared to just hooks with a rail?

    Each of my windows is about 50 inches wide, according to the description each pair is 57 inches, so do I use one pair for one window to get the beautiful results like your windows? Please help with the size, I am struggling! Thank you.

    • @AButterflyHouse
      @AButterflyHouse  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The hook part of the pleat hook hangs from just about any type of curtain ring!

    Ikea sells the pleating hooks. They are called Riktig

    • @AButterflyHouse
      @AButterflyHouse  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The Riktig hooks are awesome for hanging curtains, but they don't have enough prongs for pleating like I do in this video.

    • @cjay233
      @cjay233 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I bought the Riktig but I had a hard time getting them to stay in long enough to put the round rings on there and hang them. I got them up but they could look better. Thanks.

    JC Penney has the “best budget curtains” and they come with pinch pleats already sewn in. You have the wrong rod. A transverse rod with a cord opener is best. Anything else looks like a knock off.
