    As a 39 year old female with ADHD, I find learning to do these tasks really hard as it usually involves a lot of verbal information to process. Your video is very Neurodivergent friendly. By explaining every little step, and visually demonstrating it full, I feel really confident about doing this now. Thank you so much 💜

    Thank you for a very clear explanation. I am hanging curtains on to a track similar to yours which I have never done before so was interested to see how the curtains would look and I think I will put my hooks through the bottom loop so they cover the gap between the top of the curtains and the rail. Thank you again. X

    Excellent techniques.
    Is it OK to use another suitable object to hold down the end of the curtain on the table instead of an upside down tea mug?
    I only have one tea mug and if I am having a mug of tea at the same time as I'm pencil pleating my curtain I will have to use something else.

  • @tinytonymaloney7832

    Trick of the trade I forgot to mention last time, sometimes the plastic curtain rails stick especially if they get dusty. If the rail set is new wipe it over with a polishing rag which makes the curtains glide along. If the rails have been up for some time it's best to wipe the dust off first.
    Works with shower curtain rails too.

  • @UberAlphaSirus

    Tape head curtains. Simples. Tie both ends up. lay it down, measure out the width you need and put a dot of marker pen on each string, tie the other end to a door knob and ruffle it up to your marks on the string, slip knot it, roll it up and tuck it in the return. Done, 3 minutes.

    • @stakkerhmnd
      @stakkerhmnd 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Could you explain the dot marker bit a bit more please as I don't follow how that works. Are the dots to determine the total width?

    • @stakkerhmnd
      @stakkerhmnd 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@UberAlphaSirus Yes, that makes sense. I like your technique. Could I use calipers to measure the peaks between each pencil pleat so they are equal?

    • @UberAlphaSirus
      @UberAlphaSirus 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@stakkerhmnd You probably would use a caliper for many things. I have loads of tips for your soft furnishings. I was going to go into more detail on how you can count the webs to adjust back to front pleat depth, return depth and leading edge lap. And hooking for height and tricks so you hooks don't fall out fitting to the rail. But I have to wait until you master the dots. And how wide you want curtains to stack Stakker. Xxx

      @@UberAlphaSirus Hi Sirus, you are a good citizen and thank you for the offer of loads of tips. The Glorious Stakker Humanoid, Great Leader of the DPRK, looks forward to learning about the finer points of hanging curtains.
      In particular, I want to know about:
      a. Counting webs to adjust back-to-front pleat depth
      b. Return depth and leading edge lap (what is that?)
      c. Stopping hooks falling out!!
      This knowledge will be of great value to Stakker. Please let me know when you get a chance.

    So, have I got this right? A single curtain should ideally be the same width as the space for two curtains (the length of the curtain rail)? And then you tighten it up to cover half the space?

    My curtains are on a pull cord system. And i found if i do it this way with many hooks onto every hanging point on the rail, when opening the hanging points would jam and turn sideways, making the curtain stop opening, meaning you have to pull down on the curtain to pull the runner back down straight to slide again. If i use way less hanging points, like pne every 10 hanhing points it opens smoothly with no jams, but they just dont sit/ look right. Frustrating.

    Oh please help me, I've been searching for information for 2 years! I have curtains just like these, a track, and clips (not hooks like on the vid). I got to know that you're supposed to pinch the folds from behind, not the top edge. This was helpful but still I did it awfully and it doesn't work right. Can you tell me
    - If I fold my curtains with the tape, they won't be able to widen to cover the windows, but just move from the wall to the windows?
    - Is there a way, a method, to attach these clips to curtain so the folds don't droop? I've bought some more clips recently but..
    - It's really hard for me to do this physically. If I pinched the curtain on the table, I wouldn't be able to put back these small plastic elements on the track. Do you have any idea if there's something wrong with it? They end too close to the wall. I can push them in one by one but if I had a whole heavy curtain with me, that would be not possible anymore.

    I have to confess that I didn't realise you needed to keep the string length and tuck it away, my missus left them hanging down and after many months I cut the excess off. She had a session of tourettes at me for the next 15 mins and I never got any dinner that night. Well you can't know everything can you??

    Most of this was great, except you didn't explain how to attach the curtains to the track! Hanging curtains serms to be a pretty complicated process yet it seems that one is expected to just know how to do all the various steps.
