Kids, do not swing heavily loads like this, especially, if the forks are raised.

Ok, I hear your point, but he clearly understands the conservation of momentum here and accounted for it.
That said, like the title states, this man is clearly and master. This should not be attempted without the expectation of anything higher than a 50% success rate.

As an instructor myself and operator for 18 years, this is terrible operating, doesn’t look in the direction of travel, had too much back tilt when placing the load, and is just a general danger. I’d have him off that truck a heck of a lot quicker than he could put any pallet away.

    Fast? Yes. Safe? Absolutely not.
    1) Swinging a heavy load with the forks raised is begging for a tip over accident.
    2) slammed forks down on the bed rail which is bad for the racking
    3) didn't look whilst backing AT ALL
    4) no stop or horn at the corner.

He pulled his forks out of the load with the forks tilted up, not flat. That's a good way to snag the pallet just before you pull all the way out, dumping the skid on the floor or on the product underneath. Some warehouses would reprimand him, others would promote him to manager. Depends on their priorities.

@mrtracing3292 There is not a lip I worked in an industrial freezer for a few years last thing you want is a lip that when pulling out can tug on the rack. There is however a lip for the support rails between each beam... plus if there was a lip it wouldn't allow you to put the product flush with the beams youd have drop the product down and scrape the forks against the rack when pulling out every time and each and every time you would need to remove product from the rack you'd have to tilt the forks downward and scrape them across the rack again all excessive pressure that is not what you want when you're loading and removing product in racks that are over 30ft tall.

This is why all our forklifts are regulated to 0.5mph after the lift hits over 12 feet. Someone learned a lesson the hard way and we’ve all been punished ever since.

I watched the video several times and I was impressed. What I see is: 1.- very crazy when driving in reverse without watching where you are going. 2.- does not take into account the SECURITY regulations to follow. 3.- When you carry a heavy load you cannot go fast because you can lose balance and have an accident. 4.- I see that you are not paying attention to where you are going or heading., 5.- You are going at full speed as if someone is following you or pressing you. You don't even believe what you did Remember, you don't work alone in the ware house, take into account the colleagues who work there. This forklift driver is dangerous.

Swinging a load while it's lifted, no horn around the corner, doesn't look behind him reversing. This is definitely the biggest OSHA dumpster fire of all time

I work with guys like this but driving stand up reachtrucks. They smash into stuff all the time. They make fun of me for driving slow at times thinking that I am doing it because it is as fast as I can go. I'm making sure that I don't kill anyone. It's a miracle that the whole racking hasn't collapsed yet. I have over 20 years experience & these kids in their early 20s try to tell me how to drive. I was the instructor at my last job & the first thing I did was show them videos on TH-cam of whole racks coming down because they were hit by lifts. To show them that it is no joke & mistakes can kill them & others.

The higher your forks are raised with a heavy load the more it will sway. And the more it sways the higher your chances are of flipping the forklift over. So no he’s not a master, a master would do it safely. Tip: if you ever flip a hi lo over do not attempt to jump out, it can kill you if it lands on you

Thats easy when handing bulk veggies and veggie cartons. Try doing that with heavy materials. Its alot harder to move and place pallets high. I worked at a tile company for years driving forklifts lol . Couldn't move around like that with different size tile plates in bulk heavy pallets. I did it for like 3 years( tile place) but worked forklift jobs for longer. And ive seen guys drop pallets breaking alot. I never dropped a pallet . Maybe a tile box or two but not a pallet.

As a fork lift operator for the usps we can’t get written up for doing anything on a fork truck, unless you outright purposely try to run someone over or something, but if you kill or maim someone by accident you will only lose your license for a month or two.
