Great video. I like learning about construction because I'm in a fixer upper house and I notice the things that need repairs or replacement parts and I want to do it like a pro. Thanks.
tried to install these because I failed a fire inspection. They screwed on fine but they were causing my door to hit the frame on the latch side.( not even close to closing) They are much fatter than the original hinges. So I had to put the original ones back in. Do I need to chisel or route out the hinge side frame to give these more room?
Tyvm, i just adjusted mine but was a little confused caused it came with 4 little pins so i wanted to know where the other 2 went now i know only 1 goes in. Tyvm
I opened my door and i heard a pop just now . i wonder if the spring broke inside , 15 years old is that something common ? now the door doesnt close all the way
See, i didnt know any better, trying to do something quick. Just went to unscrewing a hinge and it shot back on the last screw and reeeeally fucking hurt. So here i am, learning
These are fire rated doors. The purpose is that should a fire happen you want to ensure that the door closes behind you upon exiting the premises as to hopefully contain the fire from spreading. Thank you for your question and insight hope that helps.
Very well shot and explained! It is also just the right length without too much extraneous information. Thank you!
Very clearly explained, and the camera angles showed what you were doing, perfectly. Thank you for being such a good teacher!
Thank you so much, I watched several other videos, after watching yours the light bulb went off. Perfect teacher.
How do you fix the hinge if you have door sag for this particular hinge?
Great explanation. This made it very easy for me to install..... I don't even what to tell you how I was trying to do this.
Excellent video, thank you. And you did the demonstration with one hand! Impressive!
The safest way to remove a spring hinge is to remove the pin first. That’s what the manufacturers recommend. Safety first 👍🏻

Thanks man , great video, I purchased the same hinge from Amazon, and I will do the same , thumbs up for u

How do you adjust the door with these if when I put the new ones on the door shifted to the right
Thank you. Very informative.
Does the rod and pin comes with the hinge when you buy it?
Yes
Good job.Does the hinge come with the 2 pins. Should the door not slam so forcefully.
Yes, the hinge comes packaged with the two pins. Also, the torsion can be adjusted so that less force is applied to the door.

is it best to put on the top hinge? Very clearly explained. Thanks.
Good job explaining it.
Very helpful. Thanks.
How many adjustments should I make? I’ve done it 20+ times and it still won’t shut
Thank you
What is my hinge does not have a hole in the top for the Allen wrench? Does this mean I have to replace the entire hinge?
Yes replacing it would be ideal. Thank you for watching! 😄
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Can you spring load a door so it naturally wants to stay open, rather than closed?
Just remove the door...and problem solved
Good work.

I chuckled when you said ‘put your rod inside’. 🤷🏼♂️😂 Great information though. Thumbs up. 👍🏽
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Can you use a tripod to film your video?
It would be helpful to include a link to the item in discussion. Great video! I can tell my contractor how to do it :) thank you!
Thank you!

Thanks for the Post
thank you good sir
How many hinges do I need for one door?
This was helpful, but your door is closing with a loud slam. Your kids or a dog or other people can get hit with the door. Why does it have to slam?

I agree- but I still don’t like the slam.
Due to the tension why else would it slam
You can adjust your spring to your liking.
You are so wrong on everything you just said.
