Good video. The 125G is the model, they no longer say cc so technically they are not selling as 125cc. Most come with fuel shut offs now. They have also changed the model to all Auto here in Canada now. The Safety tethers purpose is not for trailing your kids, you'll have a heart attack, they are for connecting to their belt loops via a lanyard (or wrists with a longer cord) so the engine shuts off if they fall off the machine much like any Seadoo wrist strap engine kills. Stabilizer will help the carb. I have left them for 2 months without starting and the carbs are fine and the machine starts fine. Draining off a few seconds worth of fuel if it sits longer will fire it right up. Carbs are japanese now.
You have some good points however it is indeed a 125. When you see the plate don't pay any attention to it. One way to tell is the engine is only black on a 125. And the thing to look for is the mold on the jug. If it was a 110 it will say 107 cm3. Also using the proper fuel (93 octane that's 10% ethanol blend) they will sit for a couple weeks easily.
sounds like a lot of you that think the tao is junk, ether run the crap out of them and don't do any maintains on them. yes they are made cheaper. but your not paying for a 5000$ atv ether. i have a ata250-d and it runs great. but all i do is run mountain trails hear in Oregon. not a bad test for it. crazyhorse...
Maybe we have been lucky, but I purchased 2 Tao Tao 150"s for my children of 11 and 14, after they destroyed the Polaris Sportsman 90 after only a year I decided that I would try the Tao Tao...after all both Tao Tao's were cheaper than 1 Polaris 90. These poor Tao Tao's have been pulled out of the creeks floating up side down more time than I can remember. My son knows only one speed....wide open!...and that seems to be about 45 mph. If these ATV's can handle the back woods and swamps of South Arkansas for the last 2 years with only a master link failure on one and a starter switch failure on the other one...then I am very satisfied with my purchase....Now the bad part....not very powerful, they vibrate...(which can be fixed with little effort with rubber placed in the motor mounts) and they ride like rough.
thanks helped was about to buy the tao tao atv but saw the video so i preferd to save more money and bought a kayo 110 predator atv its a korean brand and cost 2 times as the tao tao but is much better quality defenitly worth to spend more money for better quality but if you are on a very tied budget deffinitly go for the tao tao

for the fuel problems ... use premium or use fuel stalibzer.. and I just unplig the kill switch on the rear... government says it has to be there... for the fuel shut off... if you put one on,... mount it to the frame and move the fuel line out of the way from the choke lever... check on the motor where the BLACK cylinder head is... it is stamped 125 ... then it is a 125 cc motor... do not go by the plates... and use 15-40 diesel motor oil...

hey mate i just bought a 125cc china atv and if u want to get a lot more acceleration out of it put bigger sprockets on it mine use to take a wile to get up to speed and now it just hammers its a lot more fun i am a huge person im about 6 foot and im a pretty fat but my atv doesnt have a problem carting my fat ass around the only problem i have had with it was the ball joints on the frot wheels were shot and they snaped when i ride hard but other than that there great just dont jump em thx

Sorry Idid not make myself clear. They break frequently causing the bike to be in a kill switch like mode. You can keep replacing the switch every time it breaks if you want if you want. I went through two and gave up.. Thanks for the post

I have a 125cc 2011 model and im having a problem with it. Rode it all day sunday with no problem. Tried to crank it up wednesday and took a while to start first time doing that. Then i pop it in 1st gear and the engine jumps when i accelerate it in any gear but if i accelerate it in neutrel it dont. And i would be able to easily do a donut on it in 2nd gear and now i try to and it losses power it seems to almost turn off. Hopefully you can help me out thanks
I bought a uni air filter and I noticed that it did not have the place to put the tube that ran into the back of the Engine but in your video it looked like you just cut a hole in the foam and put it in and could you also tell me what the point of the tube going into the back of the engine
Beau Marusa you can also just put a fuel filter on that tube and zip tie it to the frame it is a crank case vent so the engine doesnt build up pressure

I've had mine for a year and the only problems I've had is all that vibration and chain came loose once I tightened it and it never came loose again. On mine when you go fast the gas tank vibrates very loud and it's really annoying

There is a way. you can cut the ignition wire which bypasses the key switch. My friend has a 250 big red and was told he needed a new stator ($200+) and cut the ignition wire and it worked.
And if it works or not you can just re-wire it with electricle tape. Also the kill switch could be messing up but try the ignition first and reply if it worked or not

Good review! I just dragged home a free Tao Tao 125. I gave it a quick glance and it is scary. The quad is simply poorly made. We've had 2 Suzuki's and 2 Kawasaki's plus a Chinese Aeon and this Tao Tao is the worst ATV I've ever seen with incomplete welds, booger welds, poor engineering, and cheap materials. The date on ours says 2012. I can't fathom that anyone would have such poor quality control in this day and age. My advice for those shopping for a cheap ATV is to look at Alphasport, Eton, or Kymco. Or better yet, save money for a used Japanese brand.
Not always. Honda has a cbr500r motorcycle but's it's only a 471cc engine, and the Yamaha fz09 is only a 850cc therefore most companies just round up for marketing.
Hunter Snyder it has a different head and crank they do use a 110 piston but the crank stroke and chamber in the head make it a 125 alot of chinese say they are 125s but actually 110s you just have to look at the head a true 125 has the big head if you put the two side by side you can tell the difference
Ur crazy man I’ve got a lot of these Tao Tao quads and all of them came with pitcock valves and gas filters I’ve never in my life saw one that didn’t come with one from the factory lol pretty much all gas tanks have them built in lol idk man who your getting them from but ur getting robbed
just bought 2 for wife and daughter to putt around on at camp, they are cheaply built for real, any rough riding will destroy it in no time, the plastic is swag it will crack if you look at it too hard, and the electrical problems...... we are now down to jump starting the solenoid, the head and tail light is very weak, and of course there are no brake lights operating....makin me a Beaucoup Dinky Dau, I know the battery is strong because I have 2 machines, and both batteries power the wife's atv no problem, BUT her atv lights flicker with the idle speed indicating poor voltage or poor voltage delivery, I should have bought myself a zero turn instead, Lesson learned, don't buy one of these for a boy. They would be too hard on it for the way they are built. I am disappointed in our machines. Also disappointed in the number of complaints on these when you try to google a fix , all kind of threads with people putting them down for a myriad of reasons. good luck thanks for the video Bro
You no why ur carb is gumming up so bad take the trans breather hose off ur air filter all it dose it put all the nasty stuff right into ur carb man everyone knows this it’s like a erg valve on a truck don’t need bad old used. Up nasty burnt emissions going straight into ur motor or carb
buy a pisterpro pit bike quad.you say its better to have foot brakes for kids on the atvs?all the atvs have foot brakes for the back brake even the competition quads have them. you think its better to take off the killswitch?WTF!!thats to put a string to atached to your kid! if he falls down the quad will switch off automaticaly to prevent injurying your son!!!that bike is a waste of money man.your gonna spend the same in parts has you pay to buy a good miniquad or a pit bike quad.
Just keep up on your maintenance!! It's just that simple... doesn't matter who it's made by!!!

Have you upgraded the tires yet? Better tires reduce the vibration so much!

Do you have problems with the handlebars too? They also vibrate a lot
the pull kill switch is not for trailing your kid . you are supposed to attach it to the riders belt loop so if he falls off the atv will shut off

sounds like a week starter or maybe battery issue also check the wiring. could have a wire that maybe shorting out.

I. Have one it runs great I put a snorkel on it but the only problem is the shifter goes out about every 2 years
