  • This thermostat was installed stat, ha ha. It was easy. The wiring wasn't complicated or confusing on this install, but I can see that other, modern systems could be. It was suggested that a qualified contractor could work for difficult installations. Make sure you take out the correct fuse, shut off the furnace switch or turn off the correct breaker before working on it. I used my electrical meter to make sure there was no electricity to the wires.

      Yes, Honeywell is extremely qualified to produce good thermostats and have some of the best if you upgrade.

    The cycle time is the amount of time the furnace stays on per hour. It’s adjustable according to page 11 of the “Honeywell Quick Installation Guide”. Under “System Setup” I quote: “Heating cycles per hour”. “2 to 6 cycles per hour”. The owner can change how much the furnace comes on and turns off per hour, saving money. I changed mine.

      @@Ava-oc1dg I didn't cover cooling since I don't have air. As long as you mark the wires and label them from your old thermostat it should work. I'm not an HVAC repair man. $300 sounds reasonable. I hope you get it fixed.

    1:09 pm 7/5/23 do these same settings apply to the air-conditioning too? My “house” temperature is at 79 right now and my setting says 72 on “Auto”and “Cool” is that where it should be for my preference. The main reason I ask is bc the it’s been running the whole time and is this normal?? Thank you for the video it’s well done

    • @twagner6155
      @twagner6155  ปีที่แล้ว

      If it's set at 72 and the actual temp is 79 I assume it's installed correctly because I live in OH and it's very hot now. If you have a big old house the insulation may be so so. If your house is newer, smaller with good insulation, it could be normal and will improve over time. I hope for the best Ruth.

    This looks like the exact model i have. How do you open this up so I can change the batteries? I feel like i am going to break it if I continue trying to open it. I cannot find the manual to the thermostat either😕

      Mine is a RTH111B. The front comes off by pulling up from the bottom of the front. It's a little tough but it does come up. The top is sort of a hinge so keep that where it's at. The video at the beginning shows how to open it and near the end 18:26, how to close it.

      I have one of these also, identical to the one shown on the video. I used a tiny screwdriver between the “case” and the wall plate. Right where the bugger clips on to itself. There’s two of ‘em. Just lightly insert it near the clips and it pops right out. No pulling on that “pull here” BS.

    It really still need some help have a red wire and a white wire I plugged them both in my fan don't turn on still I need to know where to put the jumper from the white wire to what to make it turn on I can plug it in and touch the two take the white wire and jump it to the red wire but then it just stays on all the time so I can get the fan going but then it just continues to stay running

      You will have to call a heating/cooling contractor. There are limits on Do It Yourself projects because each situation is different.

      white to white; green to green, red to red. Take out the jumper and your furnace will come on. The RC is for a/c and you want to put in the yellow or light blue wire to get the a/c going. Heat: White, Green, RED. That's it. .for A/c White, Green RH with the red if you only have one and yellow/blue to yellow and you will have a/c.

      when you remove the jumper, it is screwed into the little holes like a wire. Don't just pull it out. Tape it to the front of your manual.

    if the red wire is red and the white wire is white,why label them?

    • @twagner6155
      @twagner6155  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I followed the instructions. This would be very important if you have an 8-wire system. You have to label them according to the letter of the terminal on your old thermostat and put them in the same lettered terminal in the new thermostat.

      This is my current situation ND thought, but that being said. I'm glad because my blue wire was on c with old thermostat. And then my white wire was bridged between E and AUX SO I HAVE NO CLUE WHERE TF THEY GO!! I hope this helps
