Well yea -- a $300 rental "fits" in a $1000 budget - with the 30% rule ? -- However - it isn't at all 'necessary' to spend that much for rent - in the Philippines ! -- Whereas in the US a vast number of people - 'must' spend far in excess of that 30% of their incomes - just for rent ? Or they are homeless ! - - - Many rentals are available over there for $80 - $200 -- offering more choices and even a lower budget - if desired - or - required ?!? > Not so in the US !!!
Yes I agree. I really prefer something with security and maybe a pool. I guess it's what ever each individual can afford and what their needs and wants are..

I really like La Parisienne. Its walkable from Mactan Newtown or a really short taxi ride. If you also like salads try the Greek salad. It's fantastic. They also have a really large wine and ice cream selection.

Other Great restaurants close by Mactan, Cappuccino Cafe, Hangout Steakhouse at LG garden and Lanikai Seaside Restaurant.. These are my favorites.
