I've been listening to these two for a while now, and I just keep coming back for more. There is something about their sound, the songs, the great great instrumental work... all of it is just so sweetly wonderful it grabs hold of your heart and won't let go!
I really like "Darling", the second to last song. I did a search for other expressions of it and found only "Darling Boy" offered. "Darling" is an whole other song. I would like to hear it again.
Thanks for sharing this. These guys are amazing. I was lucky to catch them here in Nashville recently, and it is my fave live show of 2015... Ramcey in Nashville
I just recently discovered this duo while looking up some Willie Watson tunes here on You Tube and SO very glad that I listened! This is simply gorgeous nay LUCIOUS material on all fronts: musically, lyrically and emotionally. I have ordered both cd's ( if there are more than two someone please correct me) from my favourite music store and am anxious to have them arrive and add Mandolin Orange to my library. Thank you for posting this and THANK YOU Mandolin Orange for sharing your talents! Keep up the splendid work and I'm glad that you signed with Yep Rock... a good label indeed!
Same, agree with both comments below. I reckon about 50 of these views have been from me in the last 4 days. Cracking tunes, lyrics and harmonies. Nice job on the sound and video too.
Oddly I too just discovered this duo recently. For me, the thing that sets them apart from many similar acts is their harmony. Voices blend very well and their technique really compliments the style of songs. Very nice.
I know you mentioned you built that smoked dred (Martinish) guitar. It sounds awesome. Can you provide your sound set-up. Strings, Pick-up, Mics, Amps or PA... Nice work... lovin it.
The Mandolin sounds good with the Guitar in Country/Bluegrass Music , it really is more a Bluegrass instrument more than anything else; However the Irish and Italian Tunes sound nice on the Mandolin as well.
I really want to hear the story behind that oddly altered guitar.i watch these guys a bit and every time i see it i want to know who did it and why.hopefully I'll get to see them someday.maybe I'll ask them.
+mbsnyderc James Griggs NC luthier had Andrew doing some part-time work in his shop, where Andrew built this guitar with James' guidance. Reportedly Andrew tried his hand at a "sunburst" finish, and that didn't work out so well. Knowledgeable folks say it sounds great. Sounds great to me. HTH
Howard Mobley I go to this festival every year. This isn't a music video per se. All four days of the festival some artists choose to be interviewed and perform a few songs within arms reach of the music lovers. With 5 stages going at once you don't always get to see the bands you want...this is a second or only chance for some. Check out the other gladden house sessions. You won't be disappointed! If you don't care for the interview just "fast forward"
Howard is a guy who thinks the world is here to entertain him. This is obviously a folk festival and an introduction to a great band. I don’t understand why would click on this video seeing it being a longer time line then a “music video”...idiot
These two people were born to be together

Good to see some people still know a Mac is not a musical instrument. And I like how he shifts between hippie ragamuffin and more clean cut looks.

She is the business for sure.
Sexy, for sure. Talented, oh yeah!
yes "run through the meadows..." never heard anyone refer to it as that, but i can see how that would work.
She could stab ya, and you’d forgive her.

"Haste Make" from the album "Haste Make/Hard Hearted Stranger"
Many thanks!
The changed the name of the band to WATCHHOUSE
Are these two married to each other?
They got married in 2017.
I really want to hear the story behind that oddly altered guitar.i watch these guys a bit and every time i see it i want to know who did it and why.hopefully I'll get to see them someday.maybe I'll ask them.
