ELSIE WAS AN ELEGANT LADY WHAT EVER SHE WORE SHE LOOKED STUNNING A BRILLIANT GIRL SADLEY SHE PASSED TOO SOON R.I.P💔💔💔💔💔💔💔💔
I’m so shocked when I googled why Peter Adam’s left Corrie !
Please could you upload 1984 if you have it? Also, thank you so much for all these episodes! Really enjoy watching them.
Brilliant episode Stan and Hilda’s wedding anniversary
I remember this episode so well so sad for Len
I remember when Rita did a song and dance when Len brought her a box of chocolates for Christmas
Yet she did the very same thing at Hilda and Stan's anniversary.
I really yearn for those times. Where did 41 years go!?
Isn’t Hilda lovely 🥰
I love Hilda. The relationship between Hilda, Stan and Eddie was lovely. Such great characters .
Barbara is fantastic here. Eileen Derbyshire is also exceptional. The street is superb here
Add some more 1978 and 1979 episodes please.
I loved Sharon when I was a kid…she was my 2nd Corrie crush after Suzie Birchall!
Barbara was brilliant but so was Pat Phoenix, power houses
The scenes between Rita and Mrs. Proctor: Brilliant.
Great performance by Barbara(Rita) !
These are great - do you have any 1979 episodes ??
Thank you
Watching this again was wonderful. I love everyone except for Sharing. She was so rude don't know what Curly saw in her. Rita was so understanding and when talked calmly to Mrs Proctor I don't know if I would have beer. I felt real sorry for Rita
Just a little heads up love, think your spell predictor has went wonky and put 'Sharing' instead of 'Sharon' and 'beer' instead of 'been'. It's pretty obvious it's a mistake but we know what people are like on social media with their smart remarks so just wanted to give you a nudge 😂
@@MarcoNegrisEye Absolutely Marion. These things happen so easily. I hope Zebra is ok.
@@birdman4274 can't even open yer bloody gob!😜
@@MarcoNegrisEye Nicely nudged. :)
Rita got her devastated widow wig on
Thought the Ogdens’ party would end the same way as the episode where Martha Longhurst died in the 60s-with them and everyone else (except Rita) silently leaving the Rovers. 😥😥
Big advert for the "Alphabet Zoo" annual in The Kabin!! It was a Granada kids programme.
It was sooooo worth watchn then. Pure crap now. Wldnt give it a glance.
Watching in 2024 💖
Me too! I have gone all the way back to the 60s. Brilliant compared to what they are showing now 😊
Barbara Knox played a blinder in this one. Away f4om all the make up and bamter it was tefreshkng to see the real Rita. A shame it was under such sad circumstances.
I’m surprised Ivy didn’t say “Is it any wonder I’m not at the top of me’ game, with your disco every night? I can’t sleep nights anymore...!”
They kind of dispensed with Xmas this year then!
Yeh it just disappeared.
Massive changes with the main cast over this time but the show kept up the quality
It did for a few more years ' mind one can argue that this was the begining of the end of it's glory days ' I stopped following when I went to live in America in 1985 ' have never got back into it since sadly xept for occasional storylines.
Rita pretending to speak to Len on the phone, when he'd been sacked from the show in May!
Sharon with them records culture club and spandau Ballet
I had the same ..for Christmas 🎄 83 brilliant 😂😂😂😂😂
Peter Adamson his private life was under a cloud at the time with very bad press he was removed from the show
Though he was " untouchable"
None of the cast would speak to him ever again
I wonder if Rita managed to get that dishwasher before Len died - I suspect not reading between the lines
Curly's smoking! I don't rememer him smoking, he must have stopped early.
Sensible of him.
He might doing the strain voice of Bryan Adams
Yes I noticed Curly smoking in these episodes! Perhaps that’s how he stays so slim
@@Redsleather worry at the time of acting he said his first wife dawn took the kid but he was have him time to time its sad about Eddie they were wonderful pair lucky we still got Kevin as goodies style SU garden
Just how many of the current cast actually died from smoking related illnesses in real life?
Eddie, Elsie, Deirdre (cancer)
Vera (emphysema)
Stan, Jack (heart attack)
The actor who played Bert Tilsley was a smoker off-screen, didn’t he have a stroke?
Cheryl Murray (Suzie) was a heavy smoker on and off screen and suffers COPD to this day
Almost everything Bet says is funny.
1.58 in: the Kabin is stocking a lot of Alphabet Zoo annuals. Is it because Alphabet Zoo was a Granada production?
1:02:00 Alf playing the grim reaper for the umpteenth time over the years! 😂
25:53 onwards. Still has me chuckling. That exchange 😂😂😂😂
Wow, they really cr*pped on the actor who played Len, not only losing his job, but destroyed the memory of him, not nice!
Sharon looks a lot like Lydia in emmedale
Does anyone else find Rita’s singing irritating!
25:50 to 26:45 such great acting especially Bet screaming to Hilda belt up chuck there's a good un. Also May that year when Bet Betty Fred got stuck in a lake
Remember that episode ' was a good laugh .
Went crap corrie after Xmas no len no annie stan in poor health no eddie
Yes it was the start of the end of corries golden years
Elsie Tanner exiting in January 1984 too.
@@lindarowe8550 I agree with you. Sadly I felt with the loss of Annie Elsie Albert Tatlock, Bert Tilsley Eddie Yeates Stan Ogden and Len Fairclough Coronation street for me was never quite the same. You could see the winds of major change blowing through the street during late 83 and 84 onwards which for me felt that the street was never quite the same again
Fred Gee off soon too
Funny how it's a small pub at the end of a street but has a bar a snug and the now none existent select lol
I loved the old layout. It was perfect.
Yeh i just noticed that
Marjorie Proctor looks like jodie whittaker.
I think one of the mistakes made at this time of Corrie was getting rid of Marion and Eddie ., they could’ve had some marvellous storylines written for them.
It was actually Geoffrey Hughes who decided to quit. He didn’t agree with Eddie getting married as he thought the character worked better single
Just realised who plays Mrs Proctor-I think years later she went on to play Mick Johnson’s terminally ill mother in law, Gladys, in Brookside.
She was Mary the punk’s mum in EastEnders too.
Yes and she has been in an episode of a touch of frost
She also played Beattie Dixon ( Alex Moss’s grandmother, who appeared after he was killed) in Emmerdale.
Being Canadian I have to put the closed captions on for Vera’s scenes. 😬
How about Stan?
Between Stan’s accent and his health issues i’ve had to rewind more than once.
The captions are usually incorrect and don't capture the garbled words. I usually have to slow the speed down and for quite a few of the characters.
Me too…and I’m Lancashire born, lol.
Brilliant episode ❤
Just saw an old Catherine Tate skit with the actress who played Sharon in it. It was about a posh mum and her kids living in the south, scared shi*less of the new northern babysitter 😂😂😂 I have met people like that in real life, gave me a good chuckle.
I don't think that's her. But the actress was in coronation street when martin had a fling with a nurse. But I know the skit you mean
"Who wants a brew"
" don't look her in the eyes it will only make her angry"
It was Jill Halfpenny 😊
Rita and len wedding 1977 20th
oh sharon is back. :/
😂
A very odd production decision, IMHO, to end with a rather rushed Betty stating that Len is dead, and then to open next episode with Rita many hours later & devastated. I feel quite cheated by them missing everything out in between, and watching them back to back it's horribly rushed, it just laves me wondering - why?
2.47/48, the Vera cackle, so loud ,so funny.
