Was rough! Tempo went against us on this one, was silly to handshake the Tarantula mirror into an Elite Spec on the line, and once we couldn't break the shield it was lights out for us. Have a great New Year dude!
Nope, and Editing DRN was laughing so hard at that one but decided not to spoil it for everybody else for once :D Haha, was a fun little moment. Totally expected the sell but dropping a set of screening Crawlers was perfectly viable too as we got to see how it played out. Hope you have a great New Year!
saw a video recently about it, and improved wasp has been excellent recently for me and would've been quite nice here. run them with range, anti air, shield and HE out of all things, i think this game adding some when the card showed up around round 4-5 could've been an excellent pivot as he had nothing for it, and clicking HE later in the game gives you another sollution for chaff (alongside the fact you sold your best scorpion, but you talked about that already :))
Yeah for sure! Was kicking myself for not considering a decent air pivot. Two Snipers shouldn't put me off so much, defo a blind spot for me to work on. Ah well, losses today mean wins tomorrow. Hope you have a great New Year!
@ found this video going over improved wasp btw from Rooster if you're in the mood for some pointers! th-cam.com/video/avKOV-nB1QY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=W9DeEHXjpfgolirS
They had saberteeth taking out your tarantulas pretty quick, while you didn't have a similar way to get onto his. After noting the lack of launcher overload, would it have made sense to position the stormcallers back a little bit further?
damn, GG. I am unsure what exactly was the cause of death here, but if I were to harbor a guess, there was not enough protection via chaff and the anti chaff was ignored for too long (fire badgers in the flanks) leaving your entire front line open to be murked by the heavy hitters (esp since you played so agressively) Personally, I would have either gone for phoenixes or wasps, since he lacks AA and because phoenixes hit hard/wasps are powerful when you get the improved wasp card, forcing him to take action against your air units while you push his frontline back even further since he has no choice but to go mustangs or another comparable anti air unit. could be wrong though as I have not played the game in over a month due to reasons mentioned in the previous vid. hope you have/had a nice christmas! EDIT: also, you went for numerous types of units so you only had 3 techs in the end, and coverage of roles being done by multiple units too - tarantula and typhoon, scorpion and stormcallers - that could be range on the tarantula and scorpion both, and having more scorpions with assault mode would mean that they would not die the moment a bit of chaff gets through I am a lower ranked player though so chances are I would have lost wayyyyy before round 7
Yeah - I was taking our Chaff Clear for granted with how many teched Tarantulas we were running. The loss was a slow demise to not being able to break the flanking shield fast enough, falling behind on Tarantula levels and over spreading myself with Scorpions rather than, as you rightly suggested, pressuring from the air with Wasps or Phoenixes!
Yeah! Surprised they refreshed a relatively "new" unit model - was expecting one of the older ones like Rhino or Marksman maybe. Looking forward to seeing what else is changing in Season 2 of Mechabellum! Think they should just call the seasons "[YEAR] Season" like "2025 Spring Season" so the numbers don't get intimidating for new players.
@Drone_101 they also made it non ramdon and have it an extra tech. Tought i agree the rhino needs the rework much more than the sabertooth, only usefull for cheese.
I see a lot of top-level players on youtube try to force the mirror and the only consistent thing I see is its inconsistent success. I never could figure out when it was appropriate to try to force the mirror vs try to pick to counter, it always seemed like a dice roll to me.
Mirrors on a unit you're comfortable on feel very nice, you know what they're thinking, you know what they're weak to - so it can be very tempting but also a trap if you're behind the tempo like we were here. Sorry, gave it my best shot! Our opponent played really well and punished us accordingly. Have a great New Year!
OwO drn got pants'd? I never thought I'd see the day. GG.

Scorpion sell at 9:40 seems very cute. Was it really worth running the risk of him not selling?

@@Drone_101 felt like a mistake, w/o the scorpions had nothing to punch thru the enemy fire badgers or tarantulas

Seen the new sabertooth?
