First time seeing any of your videos. I really liked the edit notes. And I appreciated that you posted a video of a losing match. I think a lot of people hesitant to do that. Thanks.
No worries dude, was my pleasure. Always try my best to win, but accept I'll lose my fair share along the way. Least this way I get to learn from the review during the editing process and get other people's input too.
Great game man, hard luck you were so close in the end. I think you needed an anti missile unit as soon as you saw 2 packs of lvl3 storms. You forgot to answer them and they did work...a problem I make the whole time!!!😅😅 Seriously questioned the push round with armour. Surely instead of a single tank with armour and push it was so much more efficient to get 2 tanks then and armour the next turn? Maybe push the next turn to elite recruit lv2 tanks? I guess you prioritised stopping the stsng snowball? Anyways great to watch thanks for sharing 👍 Congratulations on 2nd place that's 👌
@@James-mv4sl Mustang Intercept is super strong this patch, but they are an expensive investment if they don't have something else for your mustangs to do when they aren't intercepting.
Selling that tarantula was a mistake I think, cuz all your scorps got busy trying to kill chaff instead of the enemy. Range in tarantulas or badgers would've been better imo What say you? Maybe something else entirely would've been the choice?
I was also thinking that range on the badgers would have done work to keep them a little further from the balls in the early rounds and let the scorps clear the balls so that the badgers could get onto the mustangs
No matter what an amazing game from both players! Looking side by side before the last turn, it looked like you feel behind in the chaff game, while the mustangs scare off buying chaff, you were not clearing your opponents fast enough and none to stop the tide from colliding with your carries I had been thinking while it would have been a massive cost, the armor and degen on triple wraith is were my mind went when i saw it. Would laser sight on a melting point + range tech helped? if it started on that being shield it would popped fast. if EMP blast came back sooner, it would have removed those shields as well. I think the space rod was well placed taking out a whole fort on its own, but Editor DRN had a point with the lv 3 storm callers just raining pain it would have been helpful to have them gone. Far too many what ifs, even the most skilled players would feel the choice paralysis kicking and making snap decisions as you were. I remember when i started watching your videos, Mustangs were by far a redundant unit who couldnt carry, and now look at them all beefed up. Edits on point and commentary flowing beautifully, now it was hard to tell, but did Editor DRN fill the gaps in some sentences? or did the mic quality change slightly at 13:20 talking about the wraith living with something else to win? As always wishing you the best of luck and the thickest armor Sledgehammers!
Yeah - sorry. Chaff battle got out of hand real quick with the unanswered Stormcallers shooting all round long! Audio quality on this one wasn't great with some background noise that I had to hastily correct, sorry it was noticable with more time I can make it seemless - still trying to find the balance for edits! Thanks for the comment as always dude :D
i just realized how much the scorpion reminds me of the Sup Com 1 Megalith or for that matter supcom 2 Monkeylord more the comcept design for them than the finished product but still, good times.
In round 7 I don't so much think it was the missiles that were a mistake as that you only placed the card units and a scorpion. A unit of crawlers or fangs may well not have tipped that battle in your favor, but your left side frontline had a conspicuous open space for them and they'd have caught the first volley from the stormcallers at least (not that they were showing at the time but still) You put up a good fight even as you saw the pendulum swinging back to crush you
Yeah, watching this back in edit was hard - so many turns where I didn't maximise unit drops after taking the Additional Deployment card. It's tough, but this is how we learn. Losses today means wins tomorrow!
quick question, wouldnt the double shots on the scorpion things wouldnt do the trick? bcs you get the shield down twice as fast for a slightly longer reload?
Yep, it's great for shield popping. The classic combo for beating Giants with Scorpions is Doubleshot+Acid. Can get expensive if you want range too though.
Hi drn, bought the game because of your videos and now iam loosing hours at a time to this game : D Quick question: Do you have any tipps how to counter mass snipers/melting points? in theory the answer is mor chaff, but then they just put one vulkan upfront and it melts in seconds. I heavily struggle with dealing with it : D Also as a new player i think the idea of a coaching series would be realy cool! Anyway great videos :)
Cool game, ive just started my youtube as well with mechabellum 2 daily uploads, with what resolution would you recommend recording? i have some issues trying to get things right, ive recorded recently with 4k etc but some black frames appear when i watch the video, im very new to software and editing etc, cheers!
Hey dude, awesome! Depends mainly on where your audience is watching from - for me most of my viewer analytics seem to come from mobile so I got a boost going from 1080p to 1440p on my uploads because it downscales to 720p more cleanly and still looks good for desktop viewers at 1080p. Up to you though - the file sizes do get exponentially larger and two 8gig uploads a day would be no joke. 1080p/60fps should be solid for most things and would cap out at about 3gigs per half hour or 6gigs per hour.
@@Drone_101 its strange when i use for example 1440 or 2k+ res with high quality its like 20 giga for 15 min video i think but when i use 1900 something res with high quality its 2-3 giga, how its possible that 1440 weight like 20 giga while 1900 something is 2 :P i dont understand, ill ttry 1900 or lower then with high quality maybe it will work hm.
Yep - fire, oil and napalm would've been great here! Wasn't making the best use of my unit deployments at all, lots of missed opportunities! Editing DRN was pulling his hair out :D
Yeah, we were defo rolling the dice a little here - thought I'd timed it perfectly for the tempo kill but misjudged it by a hair! It happens, was a fun game anyway :D
I played a game recently where my opponent leveled his towers early and used them to tank with most of his units behind them. Ballsy play and it stopped me for a couple of rounds. Thankfully they didn't really have a move to make after that.
Yeah, can be a strong temp play but ultimately seems like a waste of money to take towers too far. I think one level on each is fine if you don't want to spend a deployment covering vs a Crawler flank or a potential Wasp summon, to buy your units time and lessen the debuff.
If you plan on using armor to tank, you should rly buy the unit Rank 2. Also arclights with armor (and range later) super destroy mustangs. Also Oil round 8 would have sealed the deal for sure, you alrdy had fire badgers so all the mustangs would have burned to death.
Yeah with 950 you could have had 2 squads of lvl 2 tanks w/armour that would have done a lot for tanking mustangs if you placed them a little further back to avoid some of the early ball pressure. Would be fun to play the game back from different points and see what would happen! Great game
Ultimately, you were losing the Chaff war too quickly to those high level Mustangs, so your Scorpions were stuck shooting chaff instead of Forts for too long. Maybe Stormcallers could have helped with Chaff and giant killing, or maybe Vulcans with fire missiles. But you were in a bind for sure. Too many problems and not enough deployments to solve them.
Cool game, I always learn soo much watching your games, and it's always fun to hear future DRN coments.
Thanks dude! Past and Future DRN both appreciate your kind words :D
3:20 I think this missile was meant to prevent a tower rush with crawlers on the line
I enjoyed your four tournament videos .... Thank you for sharing

one thing you taught me when we first played together was "if it's last round, what's stopping them from putting up 20 missiles?" - great advice :)

Why not fire badger napalm? Almost all his chaff was waves of crawlers and a couple more sacrificial badgers could leave enough fire to kill them all.

Lot of missile buys AND pushing early into a supply specialist with round 3 supply enhancement? Ooof, big economic disadvantage to play into.

You could've go for healing Spiders instead of shield tanks, and instead buy stromcalllers which are great vs both mustangs and fortres.
Not sure Tarantula Field Maintenance would've held up to the incoming damage here but maybe.
