    I love how raw this is. You don't make it out like everything is sunshine and daisy's, you tell us how it is and I think that is the MOST important thing for anyone in a similar situation. Knowing that it will be hard, but it is possible and there can be joy in those hard moment is so amazing. You're such a great creator and mama.

    Loved this :) the issue you were talking about with formula supplementation is commonly called ‘the top-up trap’, where you give formula because you’re worried about supply, but because baby isn’t at the breast then your supply does actually dip… so you give more formula & it gets worse & worse. Pumping if she’s having a bottle is def the best thing to do, especially as prolactin is highest at night so evening/night feeds are the most important to maintain supply in the early months x

    It was so refreshing to hear someones experience who exclusively bottle fed first baby and tried breastfeeding the second. Im in the exact same boat and have not found any one talking about this! I was worried it would be a complete nightmare but im glad il be able to give it a try with a bit more confidence x

    Congratulations! So nice to watch this. It’s my due date today and I’m already worried about the juggle of having a newborn, an almost 3yo toddler and a husband working away… so it’s nice to know I won’t be the only one struggling and that someone else understands the juggle 😂 xx

    When I was breast feeding my now 18 month old the Hakka was a massive life saver didn't have to pull out a electronic pump. Also helps increase supply and big bonus can use it if you get clogged ducts

    Some advice about toddlers. When my toddlers screamed at me I would tell them that it was not nice, and if they want something, they must use their inside voice. It helps with the stress for both of you.

    I combi fed - as long as you either do a 2am feed or pump your supply should stay this is the most important feed of the day! So combi feed should work so if you need a rest in the day or before bed 😊xx

    Night time dryness is hormonal
    And often comes way after day time dryness. There’s no harm in just focusing on day time training and leaving night time till later. It will come naturally, if he’s still wetting the bed he’s not ready. My friends daughter is 5 and still has a pull up for bed

    • @soniafowler7689
      @soniafowler7689 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yes my 4 and 5 year old boys still wear a pull up for night time. Some mornings they wake up dry others not. My eldest had to wear one until he was around 8 or so as he often would wet the bed in the night while he was asleep. He grew out of it so I’m confident my other 2 will as well.

    Juggling a toddler and newborn is crazy. Don't feel sorry for accidentally shouting. I've done it too lately (specially today, now she's hitting her 6 week sleep regression and I'm on my own while husband works) and it made me feel so sad. Like you said, we are only human!
    Everytime my girl cries, my son wants to scream louder. Every time shes near, he feels the need to scream or make loud noices. And sometimes I've just had enough and snap! It's been a wild ride! And funny that, my son is suddenly more cuddly too!
    Hang in there! ❤ We got this!

    Congratulations Shan. She really is George's double. You are looking amazing and by that I mean happy, healthy and glowing. So pleased for you. Glad breastfeeding is going well for you. I breastfed for a year and 3 months and you have given me a new tip for next time. Pump when your partner is feeding. I did it at the wrong times early on and struggled with an oversupply for quite a while so thanks for sharing. She is beautiful 😍 x x

    I’m 9 months in and have a 3 year old to and I have found when oldest is feeling left out and needs your attention talk to the baby like you do to your eldest, I.e. “oh halle, George wants mommy to play with him now, let sit you here with a toy whilst I play with him and you can watch” or use the same words you say to George when needing to breastfeed etc to halle when you are giving George attention…
    Those toddler tantrums are tough whilst dealing with a baby, well done, you’re doing amazing! ❤

    @hsellors 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You're smashing it!! That advice is perfect and you absolutely have to live in the moment, take every day as it comes.
    Does George squawk? 😂 Rio (32m) does this whenever he wants anything, when we're at home, at playgroup, whether its just that he wants a green car and not a blue one 🫠 he just squawks and YELLS mamamamamamam at me. The worst is when I'm nursing Ava (15m) because he'll then clamber up like a zombie attack 🤪
    Last year in the NB phase was definitely the hardest. Having two toddlers now is NUTS..but looking back, the whole of last summer I was just a hormonal mess. I think it took 6m to adjust and only now 15m pp am I starting to feel like me again. Able to go out for the day without children, getting back into my personal interest, feeling like Holly and not just a Mum.
    Its always important to take 5-10 minutes a day to yourself, when you can, to just have time to breath.
    Another lifeline for me, is a local play cafe. It's 2 massive play areas with a safe garden, cafe and always other mums there to share experiences with. We have a membership so go unlimited times, and so several times a week we go there. I feel much more confident in myself and my own body after speaking and getting to know so many other mums 😊

    I was the opposite, found it much easier going from 1-2 than 0-1. I was going through a lot mentally though first time around and didn't have that 2nd time.

    You were a bit ahead of me in your pregnancy, but I ended up giving birth before you and I was a week early and you went overdue 😆. I’m currently breastfeeding too, but as he won’t feed from me (had tongue tie which has now been done but got used to bottles) I’m having to pump and feed which is so time consuming and gets me down some days - very close to just formula feeding!
    What a relief that ash is leaving the army, so you will have the support when you need it. Which let’s face it, is much needed! Your looking really well xx

You have got ALOT on your plate Shan - the biggest of hugs hon ❤

    Breastfeeding is tough! Every day i said i was going to give up that week, but after a few months things got better, so if times get tough id always say perservere if you can (though it obviously doesnt matter if you truly want to stop) as im so glad i did, i stopped at 1 year only because i was going back to work. But it was so much easier than bottle feeding once we were a few months in (sounds like its going well for you already though) i expressed and bottlefed too though as its nice to have a break and does make life easier if they'll accept a bottle 😊
    Also a pro of breastfeeding for us, was thats its free 😆

    @Tariachan 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Best advice someone gave me is to still give your baby one bottle regularly, e.g. once a day. I have so many friends whose babies took a bottle fine at 4 weeks but not anymore at 6 or 8 weeks.

    Total agree harder going to multiple children rather than 0-1. We have recently had #3 and oh my goodness that has been a shock to the system! We have a 10 and 6 year age gap with the older 2 and our baby but it’s still been such a hard transition. It’s like your life gets flipped upside down again like 0-1 but with the combination of having 2 older children to ferry around to school, hobbies, homework etc etc etc. 🤣

    This will be me come November. My little girl will be 2yrs 8m when my boy is born so I'm going to be in the same position. I'm also going to try breastfeeding this time but I'm considering combi feeding to try and ease the pressure but I'm just going to go with the flow once he's here. You look fab aswell, I looked dead for about a year and a half after my first lol xx

    Hi Shan, love your video. My newborn is nearly 5 weeks and struggled to latch on the breast. However, I’ve had the best of both worlds as I’m currently exclusively pumping using a hospital pump (purchase a good electric one if possible), baby gets my breast milk but it’s given with a bottle. I love it, I highly recommend to any women on here to pump, you can see what they have and still get the benefits of breastmilk. Baby seems very content and only wakes once in the night. Good luck to all the ladies and partners on here ❤️❤️❤️

    What do you do when Hallie is sleeping and you need the toilet or just nip to the kitchen to get a drink when George is about. I have a wee nest lounger but my wee one will be just turned 2 when baby 2 arrives and I worry if she's in a moses basket or a lounge thing that toddler might touch baby or try pick up baby etc when I'm not watching

    My 3rd is 17 months and he is mostly breastfed but at night he has formula and if he wakes in the night my husband will make a bottle while I breastfeed as I've never been able to pump.
    He nearly stopped breast feeding around 3/4 months as he was having more bottles in the day but it flipped to just a bedtime one.
    I co fed my girls but they stopped breast before 6 months and the stress I went through with it was a nightmare.
