Oh my gosh Norrine! Thank you! Thank you so much for making this video. I've been so far removed from crafting that I forgot that crafting starts with using what u have. Starts with recycling items u already have. I was so upset & depressed last week that i couldn't afford to do crafting, buying tons of craft supplies (even at dollar stores). I just want u to know that in the past week, u have inspired me to CREATE. --THIS video has given me even more ideas! I feel alive again. (yeah...sounds cliche but chronic pain & depression beats u down). Love this video. Love the ideas. Thank you for being such a compassionate human being. (yeah...that's sounds mushy too lol) ___but seriously...sometimes we need that person who is compassionate & kind to reach us. Family & friends sometimes get tired of hearing you complain... I get tired of complaining yet need to vent somewhere. Thanks again for the inspiring video!! You are making a difference.

My personal favorite thing to upcycle is jeans. You can always find old pairs that are ripped or don't fit, put out a call to friends for their cast-offs, and find them super cheap at thirft stores. They are so great to craft with: the fabric is sturdy enough to use for aprons, storage applications, even rugs! And there are just SOOO MANY cute ways to upcycle it inti other clothing, accessories, or decor!

These are fantastic! I have been into making pumpkins & scarecrows this year, I also live in the country & am very fortunate to have a plethora of every size Pinecone you could want (except the JUMBO size, I only get those when my dad or neighbors bring them from Idaho!) Pinecones take to colors best when you bake them to clean them, that way they retain the sap coating while still killing all those little bugs! After you bake them you can leave them as it, or bleach them, spray paint, or even paint them & add glitter & sea salt for beautiful snow affects! I made some baskets this year & already gave them away! I use toilet/paper towel rolls for easier spray & painting! I also used those plastic Easter eggs from spring to make acorns!
Oh and pumpkins! I made concrete pumpkins, sisal twine & sweater, sock & shirt pumpkins! I went just a little crazy this year! I also made scarecrows out of bottles & glasses! I used only what I had in my craft stash! They turned out ADORABLE!
I have used the tops of medication bottles for wheels on wagons they work FANTASTIC! I make emergency sewing & first aid kits with medicine bottles too!
For some reason I always feel like it’s a fresh start for my craft & art projects in the fall. I’m not sure why. Maybe because in the summer I mostly enjoy the summer days, because that’s when I feel my best. But I LOVE FALL, even though the colder months are harder with my chronic illnesses.
Thank you for sharing, crafting is such a wonderful therapeutic tool & even using stuff around your home we can make beautiful things!

Lolla Bells- Thank you for sharing all of your wonderful ideas! I have made a few of your suggestions in the past and want to try some of the others. Sending good vibes to you in hopes you'll fair well through the upcoming cooler months. I hurt more with the cooler temperatures and humidity in the air. Here's to trying to distract myself with crafting more. Fingers crossed.

Nadine Frandsen thank you! I’m the same! I live in the Pacific Northwest where we tend to have milder winters (for the most part) but it does rain & I can definitely feel the colder humidity when that temperature drops! And in the winters mornings are ESPECIALLY HARD for me! I have heard some people say that hot weather bothers them more, but it’s definitely that cold weather that brings out my worst days! I have heating blankets, electric hand warmers & even gloves & a back brace that warm up that use a USB charger! I have a battery that is portable & can charge 4 phones & lasts about 5 days! It’s a little heavy & was a bit more expensive but let me tell you WELL WORTH IT! Great to have for emergencies & for us to use for portable heating devices so we can take them with us & be comfortable doing some fun things when it’s cooler outside. Sending warm hugs your way! It’s great meeting & talking to crafters here!

I guessed you would pick the turbines. These were all such good ideas, I am just bringing out my Fall will have to make one or two of these. I make 3D art with broken jewelry, used fabrics and trim (from Joann's). I love them as they recycle things I don't use any longer but look beautiful on paper or cloth covered canvas or wood.

I always have prescription bottles, so I've found quite a few uses. 1) many charities take them for reuse in free clinics, and for use in developing nations. Look for that first!
    2) they are great for paper clips, thumbtacks, and other small office supplies.
    3) they qre a great way to keep nail clippers, makeup, or eye drops in your purse. 4) I akways keep one of the larger ones available and labeled to put dull razor/xacto blades in. Once it is full, tape it shut and throw it away. In the meantime, its a childproof container to keep hazardous tools safe!

I don't know if someone has already responded here in comments about why you are seeing collections of mason jars' lid rings... I know, because I come from a family of home can-ners who saved money not only by canning, but by recycling the lid rings that were in good shape after use. The top of the lid has a sealing ring, so that it can only be used once (they never seal properly a second time), but rings can be used time and time again. Many is the time I helped shop for canning projects and we always bought sealing lids, but only rarely bought ring lids. My grandmothers and aunts would have considered it an egregious waste to throw ring lids away after one use, so we collected them in a handy kitchen drawer til the next canning session.

I have a lot of craft stuff and I guess a lot of stuff I have hoarded. Excuse me I am using my husband’s you tube login, changed the name but it’s still coming up with his name. My husband passed away almost 5 years ago but I have only just felt able to make some changes and sort out my craft room which has been neglected for about 8 years. I’ve made the occasional card but now need to get organised so I can make cards for friends, family and charity. The room is empty and painted. I am stuck, I would like some help and advice setting up. Would it be okay to send you an email with dimensions of the room and perhaps a picture or two, in a few days. Thank you for devoting so much of your time to provide us all with help and advice, truly appreciate it. I love watching your videos, you are an inspiration. Thank you. Libby

Thanks Noreen. I hope the idea is a success, look forward to hearing from you. BTW all my dies are metal. I have quite a few hence the idea of a magnetic sheet on the wall. Hopefully I will use them if I can see them out in the open.
