  • @darlenesye1609
    @darlenesye1609 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Yeah, Norrine! Thanks for keeping it real for us. Here is my thought. FOAM CORE! Take those S hooks out. Cut a length of foam core that matches the height of the unexposed area of the chair hole. Then vertically score, not cut that piece at very close intervals, enough so that piece of foam core can wrap around inside the chair base and reinforce the space between the chair base and the PVC. If it turns out to be too thick to fit the hole bc you can't get the PVC in, you can strip out random pieces of what you scored until it fits. I Hope my directions sound clear. I have not read any suggestions that others have provided, this just came off the top of my head. Suggestions that others provide might be better, but This One Is Cheap!

    • @TheCraftyOrganizer
      @TheCraftyOrganizer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @judithjeffers7666

    If you are trying to steady the PVC into the the legs try drilling a hole through the metal and PVC. Use a large bolt. I would do this in 2 different spots. I also would drill the holes so that they crisscross. Place one east to west and the other north to south. In addition you may be able to fill any space with expanding gleam in a can. Best of luck.

    • @TheCraftyOrganizer
      @TheCraftyOrganizer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think this is the winner idea. IF I can drill through the base with a standard drill - it's a win. If it needs a special drill bit then I'll have to play with the base more. Thanks for the great idea, Judith!!!

    A tension rod mounted vertically, from floor to ceiling or into, say a cupboard opening would not be mobile, but oh so sturdy. Because with filled and aligned trays, the center of gravity will always be far from the connecting rod, making it prone to fall over.

    I think you should try the suggestions of drilling a hole through both the chair base and mop handle and put a bolt through it with a washer on both sides and tighten it with a nut.
    Do 2 of these-one 2 inches down from the top of the chair base and 1, 2 inches up from the chair base and ensure the bolts are going in opposite directions to each other in an “x” pattern.
    And when you put your containers on again, put the heavier ones at the bottom.

A package of thin wood shims from the hardware store would give you more than enough to pack into the wobbly area and tighten up the whole thing. Congrats on your new position with Disney. How about a furniture dolly, or even a heavy duty plant dolly? Seems like those are reasonably priced. Your bottom tray would be attached to the dolly, so it would not be as tall. Drill a hole in it, and use a bolt on top and below to hold your pipe securely. Also, for added strength, put a wooden dowel or, if you can find one small enough, a piece of conduit inside the pipe.

    I agree with others here about putting a bolt or screw through the base and the rod/pole. I think, too, that your pole needs to go down into the base a little deeper; that will add a bit more stability.

    You could just take some wood and drill the exact hole size you need for the broom handle. If you wanted wheels, you could attach caster (even the ones from the chair) by drilling holes in the bottom of the piece of wood.

  • @sofianewton6927
    @sofianewton6927 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    First of all, you have done a beautiful job! How about using that spray foam that they use to fill in those same exact tubes to secure a post? If you secure your "post" at the base with this spray foam, the top will be secure. You can cut off whatever extra foam may come out. You will not need much if it at all. This product is used to ensure posts will NOT wiggle so why not treat your pipe in the same way? I would give it a try. Just a thought. And I continue to be amazed at your creations and at your encouraging spirit! ❤️

    I’m not a huge fan of the Christmas Tree Stand suggestion because that’s basically a single point of attachment. Maybe if you did the Christmas tree stand and drilled through at the bottom of the stand so you have attachment at the ring and at the bottom.
    Ultimately we have a vertical cantilever situation going on, and the best thing is going to have two points securing to a stable base. I think the S-hook might be enough for the attachment at the bottom (although it seems like it is still a friction fit, so you might still want some sort of bolt at the bottom), but my recommendation would be to drill a hole through the base and the broom handle at like ….3/4” for a 1/4” bolt…from the top of the base. Shim out the gap between the handle and the base with something that’s not going to compress in size a lot on you. Washers might be tricky given the curve, but maybe some clay or something? You want those so that you’re not deforming the base or the handle when you tighten the bolt down.
    Depending on how much distance you have between the two points of attachment (more distance means less force on the connections), that should hopefully take care of the wobbling issue. Another potential issue I can see is that when it is fully loaded, if all the trays are aligned, that might pull the whole thing over. If that becomes an issue, best to add weights to the base. Lower that center of gravity.
    Hope that helps!

    I think you’ve already looked at mytwo suggestions. The first one was using a lot for an outside umbrella and filling it with heavy sand or concrete. The second one was to take a large shallow round container such as a Christmas tree stand(although those can be expensive) or a large round tube like you got for the trees, only larger and fill it with ready Crete or heavy stones whatever you happen to have handy. I was going to suggest a stock tank however that would be much too tall- what is a stock tank you ask - it’s a large round or oval galvanized metal tub that is used to water cattle. However when you do something like that you’re getting into money. So I guess my only suggestions are they large cement tubes larger than you have cutting it down and filling it with rocks or ready Crete or something of that sort and putting the pool into that. I don’t know if that’s helpful or not.

    Not sure if you found an answer, you could add Kinesio tape that athletes use, you can get it near the braces like wrist braces or Ace bandage wraps. You could adjust the layers as needed no matter what size you have for your pole, plus it is a little tacky (not sticky) so it will build-up, but it is not difficult at all to take off. You can also use it on the handles of your tools to make them more comfortable & easy to grip (not sure if I heard that here or on another channel).

We have eye hooks set in buckets to stabilize large temporary tents when you cannot use stakes. Large buckets would get heavy, but you would need a large bucket to stabilize your pole.

    Maybe you need to use a heavier pole big enough you can drill into it to more securely attach the base. Maybe like a Christmas tree stand. Basically, it seems that you need to come up with a way to attach a base that comes up further on the pole. Still thinking here. 🧐🧐

      This - add width to the bottom of the pole to make a more snug fit. You can use a thin cutting sheet/mat from the dollar store, wrapped around and then duct tape over to hold. Depending on how much space there is, you could also use some of the extra foam board cut into "shims" and wedge them in before taping over to smooth it out and hold them in place.

  • @robertadunn1572
    @robertadunn1572 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Such a cute idea! Once you have the rod put into the chair base could you drill a hole all the way through the rod and the chair base get a bolt that would go all the way through and then use a nut to tighten it,to keep it from wobbling? That way you only have to have that nut and bolt to buy? Just a suggestion. Best of luck with the Disney dream job!!

    How about a floor lamp that’s really skinny? I have a torchiere style that I think might work. My husband bought it on sale at Target fo I think $10. Should be able to find one at a garage sale or thrift store. You would be able to see if the base to upright connection is sturdy enough. Add one of those flower pot rollers if you HAD to have wheels
