One of my favorite accomplishments is revolutionizing the way sports channels create thumbnails. I started making them with team logos on the left, and a game snapshot on the right, and I’ve gotten almost all of my video views with that style.
I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

The backhand throw from the knees by the Puerto Rico shortstop was the best child play I might’ve ever seen
I paused the video to see if anybody complained about the count being different than the announcer. That ss is nasty and the screen is paused on big fella doing the splits. Runners hands on his head knowing he ain't run hard enough

I just watch that play and the second baseman from the New York little league team made a nasty play and throw on his knees yesterday!

This game by Virginia might be the most undisciplined baseball I’ve seen in a whileee. Get these kids are young but damn looks like these guys are playing tee ball when they’re in the field
Literally no rythym at all... it was really weird watching .. especially on that last play. Left outfielder was suppse to catch that ball. It would have been way easier

Also there was that moment when a player on Virginia swung at a 3-0 pitch
They’re 16. They made a ton of errors 7 year olds would make. And coach wouldn’t quit throwing down to 2B in 1st and 3rd situations, which gave PR 4 or 5 runs at the cost of 2 outs at the max.
I agree, the shortstop couldn’t come up with multiple routine ground balls.
Shortstop for Virginia gotta be the coaches son
I bet the catcher is his best friend too. Gave up 3 runs from throwing down on steals, and the bone head pickle at 3rd and home. Catcher alone gave up 4 SS gave up 3 off errors? Different game if those two play better.

I remember I was the best 3rd baseman and arguably best bat on a all star team one year but the coaches son also was a 3rd baseman and ended up starting over me lol, he was so sorry only reason he got in the team was cuz his pops. everytime we played them in the regular szn they got smacked 🤣🤦🏽

I was watching this game live and the defense for Puerto Rico was so insane, the backhand throw (on the knees) by the shortstop, the diving play by the center fielder. And let’s not forget about the offense either. Super solid team and I could see a lot of those kids getting drafted one day
I’m surprised they didn’t show that play at center field, that was an ESPN top 10 for sure
Na e6 on a routine groundswell w 2 outs and a 1st and 3rd steal scoring a run after. Terrible
VA probably wins that game if they make routines. Instead they looked like a circus.

@@SamPhillips01 they look scared. A bunch of errors were hard hit balls. They also look poorly coached on d. Errors ain't help. PR didn't let their foot off the gas
How does Virginia not have a plan for the first and third plays? They handed over about 3 runs to PR because the catcher would throw down to second as the runner breaks home from third. Should never happen more than once at this level.
I was thinking the same thing. A lot of plays, throws, errors by VA shouldn’t be happening at this level. Lack of fundamentals. That pickle between 3rd and home, at this age should know to run the runner back to the bag instead of throwing it that soon.
SS should be cutting that ball off and firing home instead of letting the ball go all the way to 2nd. I blame the coaches on that.

For a championship game I am shocked how sloppy it was. The play by the SS from PR was dirty but rest of game was just sloppy but the best team won.
Virginias defense was more like Williamsport,so many errors! Congrats to Puerto Rico.

i’ll give credit to PR for getting the win, but without errors from VA i’m not sure they would’ve found momentum late in the game

Misses a catch then tries to throw the ball in which went straight into the ground then throws his hands up and his hat goes flying off. I was laughing hysterically. Spoiled rotten chump is what he is and I'm glad they lost.
This whole team was so ungodly bad, every mistake made they slam their gloves and cry like a baby
Blows my mind how sloppy defensively they were. At this age they shouldn’t be making those mistakes. I get nerves, but SS had what? 3 errors. Catcher messing up the pickle, and PR scored every time on the double steal.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Senior League isn't that big. Especially in the US. Our kids are playing HS ball and travel ball.

When I was watching this, I missed the fact that this was senior League World Series. I was already to say that the officials need to check some birth certificates. :-)

I know they are still kids but Virginia looked like a circus out there. The coaches have to get them more prepared. The catcher gave them about 5 runs. Not running the runner back closer to third, throwing off his knees to second when the shortstop should be darting behind the mound to cut that run off at the plate. It was a guaranteed run if they got first and third, and only once got the runner at second. The other times the ball went to center. Left side of the infield couldn't catch a cold. Outfield is play 150 feet deep. Kid swinging 3 - 0. Just bad baseball. Hate to say it but you have to put that one on the coaches.
I'm confused. Are these select teams? Or is it just older rec?

At some point with first and third after throwing to 2nd every time, maybe a pump fake from the catcher and go back to 3rd? Maybe if u had 2 outs to throw down but it’s not worth it trading an out for a run, especially in the championship.

Man Virginia gave that game away. If they played good defense all those runs wouldn’t have happened. Seems the pressure was too much.
From perusing the comments. I see many of my own thoughts and feelings being repeated. I know Virginia is obviously better than their showing manifested. Puerto Rico came ready to play. They took advantage of errors and put the ball in play. One of our younger iterations of Team USA got a black eye and bloody nose. Sadly not from a great give and take battle but from tripping over their own feet while on the field. :(

Almost no good players in America play in this league, it’s almost entirely people that didn’t make any good travel teams I would love to see the best players together but instead we get a bunch of rejects

@@davidmartino3312 The average senior little league team would crumble next to many D1/D2/D3 highschool teams across the country. The only reason these two respective teams would maybe slightly hold a candle to them is because they are obviously the best of the best at their respective league. But little leagues are constantly dropping in talent as more players / cities transfer to Babe Ruth / Travel Ball / Summer Ball.
