The outfielder and manager for el segundo cost them the game, the outfielder needs to make that catch in the 1st inning that cost them 2 runs. The manager cant keep holding back his best pitchers until after the damage has been done he is going to cost his team an early exit when they clearly had more talent.
The 4th pitcher for Cali has the best stuff of all USA pitchers. I have no clue why they are not using their #1 and #2. It seems like they thought they'd steamroll this tournament and are just not playing well. They can either use this as a wake up call or get beat by a tough RI team Props to Texas though. They use their ace - who rises to the occasion every game - and they stay with him until pitch counts runs out. Texas showed that team toughness beats team talent when the pressure is on.
El segundo did the same against ohio not using there best pitcher and almost lost. They keep playing with fire and will ultimately get burned by the managers decision to play conservative. El segundo clearly has the better talent on usa side of the bracket .
@@MitchellNavarro-y1x nah. I think norcal had their most consistent starter. Manivung didn't start at pitcher in any of the games in the regional. I don't think he's a usual starter for them. Just so happened that he was able to come in and pretty much shut the door but the damage was done

@@RickMaloch he did it this way in the regional but if not for the blunder for Norcal to not use their best arm starting, socal wouldn't even be here. I've never seen a team so conservative or cocky to not throw their best arms the first two games. They got bailed out against Ohio because of the shortened game but Texas threw their ace as far as they could go and that saved them at least one game even if they lose their next game.
California probably wins if they start with #14 instead of bringing him in after the damage was done. Seems they thought they could get through the game without using their best pitcher.
It’s a tough decision deciding when to put your best pitcher in. You don’t want to save him for later games and get sent to the losers bracket right off the bat .. Chinese Taipei has played their ace twice already which I found to be an interesting move
