When Perry could still sing…so sad that he melted down and unraveled on this year’s tour…

He can still sing when he’s not drunk. His voice may not hold up for the entire show but he hasn’t lii oh st it completely. I caught a concert about 10 days before the Boston implosion.

This is the biggest, most epic song that I have ever heard. Perry worked so hard to give deliver a meaningful song, and put his heart into every word. On stage, Jane's Addiction was electric, explosive, overwhelming... Watch Perkins work his ass off...

It was their Magnus Opus. True Jane's fans will always acknowledge that THIS is the perfect antidote to the commercial "Been Caught Stealing".......

    • @bryonguernsey9794
      @bryonguernsey9794 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Perkins is a constant standard bearer. The song is genius. Perry always drinks the wine before this song. Apparently Eric Avery wasn’t up for the reunion. But there could be no better standing then flee. And Dave Navarro is just a consummate genius. They are all national treasures.

Just have to find the right stuff. I didn't get into rap until after I graduated. Now I can't get enough of MF DOOM, Eyedea, Aesop Rock, A Tribe Called Quest, NWA, Biggie, DMX, Outkast, etc.
Let's be honest, there's just as much shitty rock as there is rap, so you stumbled across a good one.

"Three Days" is based on Xiola Blue who died of a heroin overdose
in 1987. She met Perry at his father's funeral, and they both went
off for a three-day drug-filled bacchanal with his girlfriend.
A brilliant song. At the very peak of their chequered career, JA
was utterly unbeatable. When Nirvana swept all aside, only JA
    survived the cull.

The thing I always found interesting about Jane's Addiction, regardless of all of the insanity, and even somewhat blasphemous things, was the amount of truth contained within their lyrics. "True hunting is over.
    No herds to follow.
Without game, men prey on each other.
The family weakens by the bite we swallow.
    True leaders gone,
    Of land and people.
We choose no kin but adopted strangers.
The family weakens by the length we travel."
That's the truth and the length the tale describes is also why

I thought it was quite strange and the vocal was intense but out of key but then not really, just delivered in a different way so to speak. I learned to appreciate this music as a unique form of art unlike anything else I ever heard.

I've seen Gogol Bordello put on a show close to this. Not quite exact, but close.

I'm glad Dave is sober now..... but holy shit. His playing was way more aggressive and out there back then. I kinda like it more than how polished he has become.

I follow JA since their first album. They were always hypnotic, the incarnation of what must be a heroin trip,. All 4 albums are exceptional. Always arty, avant-garde, heavy, but sensible. Perry is a shaman and Dave must have sold his soul playing such energetic guitar. Here with Flea on bass they perform so intense, that it creeps down a spine.

I’ll watch anything with Avery on bass. Still good without, but never quite as wonderful as it truly was with him. His bass lines were the groundwork which so many Jane’s tunes revolved around.

Where’s the rest of this clip? To cut out like that, right at crescendo. Not fair.

My all time fav for decades now but the lead guitar in the live version killed the song, the studio compilation is truly a artistic master piece like entities in conversation.

Navarro played lead guitar here and in the studio version. Obviously this was intended to be more of a performance art piece than anything.
