Three Days is one of the greatest rock songs ever written, drums, guitar, bass, lyrics, and the fact that it was born from a dark, hedonistic, heroin induced, real-life human experience. Can't get much more rock & roll than this in my opinion.
I remember the first time I listened to JA.... I was a Senior in High School 88/89. My brother was home from college and we were at a friends house and JA was tossed into the CD player. I’ll never forget the audio equipment as I was astounded at how it sounded........ Nakamichi amp and CD with Martin Logan speakers..... OMG the clarity... been a fan since.
You can feel that's Dave's guitar wants to burst into flames during those solos if it could. After all these years that song still makes the hair on my neck stand every time.
Music has always been good and always will be good. Sorry it’s sorta my pet peeve when people can only stay inside their music bubble. This is obviously phenomenal writing but there has also since been phenomenal writing.
My only complaint about this video.... Not enough Eric Avery... That bassline is iconic and his contributions were crucial to their sound, and we don't even get a single close up shot.
Unique thing about Jane's Addiction a lot of the hooks, the riffs are based off of the bass line not usually the guitar. So many of their songs the bass is what you hear from the jump and leads the song. Three Days, Ain't No Right, Ted Just Admit it, Been Caught Stealing, Mountain Song.
Like fine wine, they get better with age. Perkins is such a great drummer. It really pissed me off when they broke up in 91ish, even though they got back together it just feels like there could have been some great albums in between.
This is probably a hot take. And ftr, I never gave Janes an honest try until a couple weeks ago. I feel into a rabbit hole because i watched a clip from a Dave Navarro interview about the Chili Peppers. But I think this song is Master of Puppets level writing/quality. Also, I now have an appreciation for One Hot Minute and his work in the Peppers because i appreciate his Janes Addiction work.

Saw them at edge fest a year after this . One of the best concerts ever except perry was drunk on stage lol he had a bottle of wine in one hand and the mic in the other
So f**king annoying the cameras dont show Eric playing ever, WTF is that all about??? While I'm at it, as far as I'm concerned ,THIS is Janes Addiction, all 4 original members responsible for the true Janes records: Live at the Roxy, Nothings Shocking and RDLH. Everything after is an "almost" but not quite. That's just what my heart says, to each their own ya know. Eric, if you read this, what you composed are some of the most memorable contributions to the Jane's sound... you were a CORNERSTONE brother, and it was NEVER the same without you.
The amazing thing is this piece was poetry in song..... yet they never evolved to the higher level. They digressed and receded to the shadows. This performance then is the "Simulacra and simulation" of the original.
Yeah, it was way better when he was smacked and cracked out, for sure. IT hasn't gotten old sweetheart. They have. Dude was ALWAYS incredibly fucked up. ALWAYS. (even while rehabbing, dude was higher than most)
I love em. But this is what happens in many cases with tours, just pandering to the egoes of the performers, without asking them to put in a performance. Just intersted in the $$$$. Dave and Perry are f@cking piss poor here.
Probably the best song that was ever written. The band played it awesomely, but Perri's performance kinda let the whole thing down. then again, that's been the case for years now. I guess that's what happens when you spend years getting high on sniffing your own farts.
It's not an easy song to sing, and in my opinion he performed at least correctly (I bet most of people can't do a shit compared to him). I'm not a fanboy, actually it's the second time I listen to this band. They sound fkn' nice!
Dave Navarro's guitar solo on this song is one for the ages. A masterpiece within a masterpiece. Amazing.
Both solos
My fav of all time by a landslide. Pure frickin magick!
Watched it live and I took in ever bit.
If you think that is really good, then you should listen to the Hammersmith version, its even better.
One of the greatest songs off one of the greatest albums ever made.
This is completely true.
Possibly the greatest 12 minutes of live music that I have ever seen.
I’m not even big fan of them and I agree
You are so right!!! Unreal
They are magical when the 4 originals are performing. Absolute perfection
Dave is so underrated. His guitar work in this song is absolutely legendary.
Still fuckin amazing. And the drummer comes from the depth of hell. One of the most amazing drummers.
jdvicvega0 ,and still is man!
yeah and Stephen Perkins is his name.
Stephen Perkins is an absolute monster, one of the best drummers ever
Legend. Best band of the decade, and one of the best ever.
One of the greates songs of all time. Timeless.
Man, what was Navarro thinking when he wrote that solo... fuckin epic one of my favourites

Shadows of the morning light
Shadows of the evening sun
Till the shadows and the light were one
Greatest lyrical phrase ever written.
Early 90s was the best time for Rock
You can feel that's Dave's guitar wants to burst into flames during those solos if it could.
After all these years that song still makes the hair on my neck stand every time.
Damn, music will never be this good again...
wrthrash ,i agree, sadly enough. At least we have TH-cam to reminisce!
Music has always been good and always will be good. Sorry it’s sorta my pet peeve when people can only stay inside their music bubble. This is obviously phenomenal writing but there has also since been phenomenal writing.

Life of a bass player....😣
what's annoying is the fact that he has to put his annoying wife in everything he does now......that's annoying....
Dave and he can’t sing anymore. This is one of the last times that I thought perry sounded good. Satellite party is the worst thing to happen to music

@@pjam1184 Really good point and good examples. Up The Beach and Summertime Rolls too.
Timeless masterpiece,eternal art.
All there songs are Great best group i have ever heard hands down
Amazing concert from Jane's Addiction !!!💖
I have been hearting Stephen Perkins since 1992. It is 2022. Nuff said.
An ocean of tears from trying… tears from ecstasy!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Perkins is the greatest drummer I’ve seen live
Danny Carey
Most underrated bass player of the late 80s-90s. No Eric= no jane's
Perry sings this song like he doesn't care anymore. The rest of the band is amazing & as good as ever.
6mins on this song is insane
I know I luv it. 3 days was the monkey. I woke up to a cricket bow. Ohhhhhh yeeee.
will live way past earth .
I was 16 and remember my first listening of just released Ritual De Lo Habitual and thought immediately that it would be a classic.. What a band !
Sick!! Truly amazing
Excelente guitarrista 😉
Like fine wine, they get better with age. Perkins is such a great drummer. It really pissed me off when they broke up in 91ish, even though they got back together it just feels like there could have been some great albums in between.
Wow... Just Wow
god damn, that was good
this song is just so cool
great tripping song! Lyserge it!
ive seen then 3 times in the last 25 or so years
Our Parry should watch this!
Dave held his place in time for sure!!!!;:P
Wow! speechless
Muito bom , ótima performance!!!
watch the 1990 show in milan clip. so raw. so sick.. that version is out of control

Perkins is killing it. However! He certainly misses Avery. They were so amazing together.
I was at this gig. I'd like to see the rest of the show but the link you posted above isn't allowing me access. Help!

I consider this the greatest guitar solo ever….
♠️
Perkins kills it, it misses Avery’s bass. That duo was amazing
A trip
Dave Navarro é o melhor guitarrista do rock alternativo.
I can't see anything past Navarro's giant head. Seriously, I love JA.
I am a proud man ... anyway
So f**king annoying the cameras dont show Eric playing ever, WTF is that all about??? who is the film on intro please!?
The River Wild with Meryl Streep and Kevin Bacon
Advertisements ruin this
The amazing thing is this piece was poetry in song.....
yet they never evolved to the higher level.
They digressed and receded to the shadows.
This performance then is the "Simulacra and simulation" of the original.
Listen to the record, the next song is "Then she did". It's a piece you fucking idiot.
dude this song is from 25 years ago u obviously have no clue about these guys \ obviously he cant sound like the original
Indeed.. the guy is near 60 NOW... saw them at the Palliadum in Hollywood.. cant complain for 50 bucks 13 songs...
#DaveNavarro I love you
Put the giant plums away Perry
Ridículo colocar em todas as faixas e shows mulheres quase peladas.Os caras sao perfeitos, nao precisam disso.
Você sabe que esta música é sobre um ménage a trois, certo?
What the hell is going on with the stage show? 😂
Fucking incredible song though 😍
ads in the middle of the song. great. byebye
Perry is like always drunk now. It's gotten old
Yeah, it was way better when he was smacked and cracked out, for sure. IT hasn't gotten old sweetheart. They have. Dude was ALWAYS incredibly fucked up. ALWAYS. (even while rehabbing, dude was higher than most)
perfect example of a face lift and why not to get one. just age with pride don't be a burt reynolds perry. fuckin pin cushion
Jenni Rayflo "It's"? ... so Perry in not a "he", Perry is an "it"...ok
Farrell non gliela fa +
Great song, beautiful guitar tone. Unfortunately Perry is just plainly off key through all the verses. Disappointed with the vocals.
Perry's has gotten damaged, but all 4 are still so FUCKING effective!!!!!!!
You clearly don’t know what a key signature is. He is in key just not executing his notes he usually hits or as cleanly. Not off key.
He’s not out of key. The whole song is played in a different key.
A masterpiece stopped at 6 minutes to then cut to an AD...a criminal act by any stretch of of the imagination :( Two thumbs down!
I love em. But this is what happens in many cases with tours, just pandering to the egoes of the performers, without asking them to put in a performance.
Just intersted in the $$$$.
Dave and Perry are f@cking piss poor here.
Is this click bate? This isn't Jane's Addiction. This is Jane needs rehab
This was the last era of greatness for JA. What they're doing now without Dave Navarro is rubbish.
one of the best songs ever, but perry is HORRIBLE here. off key & out of time.
Probably the best song that was ever written. The band played it awesomely, but Perri's performance kinda let the whole thing down. then again, that's been the case for years now. I guess that's what happens when you spend years getting high on sniffing your own farts.
its a great song but the guy cant sing at all. almost no word is in tune
Sounds good to me, and he was about 52 here...
It's not an easy song to sing, and in my opinion he performed at least correctly (I bet most of people can't do a shit compared to him). I'm not a fanboy, actually it's the second time I listen to this band. They sound fkn' nice!
@@Vhaldemar90 David Gilmour is in late 70's and still can sing. This guy is only care about his gf/wife and plastic surgery
Umm ... ?? Pretty shitty ... What else can I say? My how the mighty have fallen ...
