You three together are a amazing combination! Dawn's way of getting people to consider how living with less equals freedom, Cas's ability to explain organizing styles (not everyone is a cricket as pinterest would make us believe!) and Dana's practicality in how to get it all done without being overwhelmed is truly going to change people's lives!
i dont mean to be so offtopic but does someone know of a way to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow forgot the account password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
@Salvatore Gus I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Dana, it's so nice to meet you. (You too Cas) I tried your method today. I'm tired (lots of trips to the car and the basement and the garage). But the area is clean and there are no "piles" in my way! What a game changer! I'm a messy person, but one step at a time and I can do this! I feel so accomplished.
Dana said a powerful thing: “Who I thought I was going to be when I brought that into my house”... you 3 ladies have really helped me to understand myself and my stuff and made letting go so much easier!!! Thank you!!!
I remember watching Dawn use Dana's method in her entryway closet. At first, I saw her struggle with the concept of taking each item to it's home. In the end it worked out fantastic and Dawn was so happy at how well it worked. I've watched Cass for awhile too, but I'm brand new to Dana's videos. It's so neat to see you ladies team up to try to help us that have the same issues. The struggle is real! Good luck with your new venture! You three make quite a powerful trio!!
🦸♀️I am a grandma helping with care for my twin 16 month old and 5 year old. I am in the beginning of my decluttering/ minimizing journey. I am so happy to see you three together! You are some of my favorite ladies to watch. I have learned so much. Anyway...I have never commented before, but I have to share this. I got inspiration from Cas and her cosplay idea. My 5 y.o. granddaughter is really in to super hero girls right now. She will run around the house saving us from monsters and bad guys. We already have a reminder on Alexa that tell us to drink water every hour during the day and no matter what she is doing she will shout out "Time to drink water Grandma!" So I got the idea from Cas to add a reminder on Alexa that says "put on your super hero cape and do a 5 minute clean up to save us from the Messy Monster!!" We have only done it a couple of days now, but it has worked wonderfully!!! We will put on our pretend capes and tidy up quickly saying "the messy monster isn't going to get our house!, etc." and she gets into it and usually keeps going after the 5 min timer goes off. I sure hope this continues because so far it is great and the twins will join in also. Thank you so much for all the great tips and inspiration. Love you ladies!
When I was a lil girl one of my grandma's friends told me an apron was a cape on backwards so I wanted to wear one after that.. lol. I think it was just so I'd stay clean now looking back but it worked.
I'd like to add something to the photo boxes! How about at the end of each year you put that years photos in a dated envelope and put back in the same box. This would really help those of us that don't take the time to put dates on our photos! Yay? Nay?
I will know that victory is within my grasp when I don't have to move something just so I can DO something in that space! When you have small areas that pull double or triple duty, it is frustrating to have to clear off stuff just to put more stuff there!
I come by it honestly. My dad always said "This house is a trap." Move one thing to use it and a million other things fall down or have to be moved first. Nothing is easy! Same with my house. Nothing is easy. It's time. Laundry today. I have so many clothes I can go much too long between loads. That makes laundry WEEK a nightmare. Wash, dry, donate. Pilly? Toss. No, I don't need that many dust cloths! Us older folks come from parents of the depression. We are retraining past generations! And preventing the next. Like therapy, don't pass on your issues. Fix them.
I have that issue. And that's why my sewing machine is in the closet instead of on my only desk where the computer is. . I would like to keep both items out and easy to access.
Dana is 100% me!! Stumbling on her videos have been life changing. As I get through decluttering I love organizing. Just have to get past the overwhelming. Thank you ladies.
I do one thing at a time. I'm trying to organize and minimize. I did take two days to take down lights and all the Christmas totes packed up in the attic. It took me one day to clean and organize under my husbands sink. The next day I did my sink. The next day I cleaned and organized our double vanity. Today Im dusting and organizing my closet thats in my master bath. Its been a trickle down effect. Its like oh thats clean so what is the next mini project. I have alot to go but I feel Im progessing!
Same here. The only thing I don't like about it is by the time I finish other things I have to start again. For example when I was lazy to do all bathroom in one day even though it wouldn't take more than half an hour i did only bath next day only sink etc. By the time I did the floor instead of enjoying the clean space the bath had to be done again 😓
My brain still thinks I'm in a 20 year old body and can go from sun up to sun down, so I put too many expectations on myself and when I don't get much accomplished I feel like a failure. I think your method of one doable task a day is the way to go. If I only expect to get one thing done and actually do it, then I will feel accomplishment instead of disappointment in myself.
@@pamwood3956 Your so on point! Thats why I started doing mini projects to feel accomplished. Its like the snowball effect. I wont finish all the kitchen but I will tackle the coffee station. I will do the fridge one day, the freezer the next.
@@lalahdz9553 I love that idea and you have motivated me to try one task a day and it will eventually be all done and done well. Thank you for that! I think it's a wonderful way to start a new year! Happy 2021! God bless you and your family 🙏
I am a butterfly, a teacher, and a person who is paralyzed by decluttering. I am so glad I am signed up for the course. I struggle with what to get rid of and what to keep “just in case”. 🤦🏻♀️
I bet it’s because you use so many cool things in school as art projects and have to spend your own money!? Be kind to yourself and breath. This from a bee...😂
I am a retired elementary special education teacher who collected all kinds of items for my classroom and my house. Raised three busy girls. I was a sentimental hoarder and hate waste. Inherited lots of family stuff too. My attic and house were full! Trying to declutter and doing OK. My biggest problem is that I jump around from area to area as I get decluttering fatigue.
As a visual merchandiser, I have been through many stores and had to declutter in order to complete big projects. The entire store might be a mess, but sometimes the project getting completed is more important than the overall appearance of the building. So, I learned that focusing on what I need in order to get the project done, means that I narrow my organization and decluttering focus. So, when I come home and the entire kitchen is chaos, I focus on what needs to get decluttered in order to make: a cup of coffee or dinner, etc. As a person who had to commute and work outside the home for long hours, orienting my organization by my daily habits/tasks helped me gain efficiency and work through these projects more quickly.
I typically would not spend money on an organizing program because nothing works for me. I told myself I deserve this gift! I felt that you three ladies were going to change things for me and now I am certain of it and can't wait to get started!
The trick is this is not an "organizing" program, though you'll end up organized...according to YOUR instincts. It's freeing because your house doesn't have to look or function like anyone else's. Most organizing means buying a system of containers/shelving and forcing your stuff into it. This actually works kinda backwards where you use what you've already got initially because you're putting things where YOU would look for them (eg Dana keeps her nail clippers in a kitchen drawer, not the bathroom. And that's okay. That permission alone blew me away). Then what you system you need in each area (if anything) will surface and you'll purchasing the cabinet or containers for your actual needs. The type container/container system isn't the locus of the solution. Your actual needs (after declutteting) for how you use a space are...and then moving forward, the container keeps your clutter on check. I'm midway through this process, and am amazed and pleased at the progress in just taking down all the low hanging fruit. Best wishes on your journey!
I tried the "no mess" at home and even in my classroom (I am a primary school teacher and classroom can become such a mess!). It's so effective and really lifechanging. Thank you so much Dana and Dawn for sharing this method !
Dawn I love the onion method cause let’s face it, this is an ongoing process. And Dana I love what you say about put things where you would look for it.
You guys have literally changed my life!!! I've been a "pack rat" for nearly my entire life and I've always hated it but always found myself paralyzed by the "where do I even start?!?!?" question. You all would not believe the difference a week has made from watching these videos! I've amazed myself! The whole just START and everyone has 5 minutes to clean SOMETHING. And once I started I haven't stopped! It feels so good!!! Thank you!!!
When you were talking about the glow bracelets, I can really relate! I used to be the one who would think, "I may have a use for that in the future," but then I had this light bulb moment that if I could replace that for one dollar, that meant I would be "paying" one dollar to store that. I don't want to "pay" to store $1 glow sticks. The shift from viewing it as *possibly* saving $ to everything has it its own monetary value and translating that to a storage fee in my mind made it easier to pitch stuff.
I just wanna say thank you. since we first bought our house 3 years ago I've been having random anxiety attacks and feelings of not being able to keep up with my house. After watching your videos it made so much sense. I started decluttering to go more minimalistic and ever since then my mind is suddenly more at peace. Decluttering is never really done but I feel so much more able to just enjoy my home now. Society is this Buy&Buy&Buy culture and now, we make more thoughful choices when purchasing anything thus saving a lot of money :D. I am so happy to have come across your videos and I wanna wish you such good blessings cause you are an amazing & kind person. Thanks for motivating me and many others
Put misplaced things into the room/area where they should be. If that area/room is already decluttered, then put the item away. If the area/room isn't yet decluttered, put the item in there, and deal with finding it's final home when you declutter that room/area. Don't get caught up jumping from cluttered area to cluttered area. Focus on one area at a time. Dana's system is amazing. Can't wait to learn more in this course.
I do my dishes every day now. It’s taken me a few weeks of videos on doing the dishes every day for me to get to this point. I get up turn my coffee on and put my clean dishes away. It’s awesome!! Thank you all for your videos. My kitchen looks great.
When I was in counseling, my counselor talked about transactional analysis to explain the different aspects of your personality: the adult, the parent, and the child. I was overwhelmed, especially at Christmas cleaning the entire house expecting all my husbands family. The counselor explained that my emotional child was doing the work. Children don’t do housework. Either the emotionless, just the facts man, list the jobs and do them adult does the work. Or the caring, I’ll take care of the family parent does the job. If I started feeling overwhelmed, I was to stop, tell my child to go play, and decide whether the adult or parent should do the work. It was weird talking to myself that way, but it worked! Being overwhelmed is an emotion and has no place in doing housework.
Never heard that. Love it. Because it’s NEVER done. I feel my husband who is more organized would stay in forever to just get “it all done”. But in his defense I never want to start lol or when I start I see every squirrel and go chase it😂😂😂. So I keep thinking I need to meet him halfway and even get him to relax on how often he wants to organize and focus on it. Cass you are right it is not fun - so then i put it off. I have a lot of “I don’t know where it goes “ stuff. 😢😢
Today I let go of a lot craft things I had hoped to do with my girls but recognize they aren't interested. I felt like a failure because I hadn't taught them to sew and cross stitch and crochet. I talked to my husband and girls (who are teens now) and they all immediately said - but you did teach them all those things. I got some much needed perspective - those things were for a season and I'm not failing them just because we've moved on to different hobbies and skills.
I had a house fire in 2015. I felt sooo free. Didn’t miss ANY of it. Just had to rebuy dishes & clothes. Of course furniture. But what a rush! My clutter was just GONE.
I’m so impressed by your attitude! I’d still be in mourning - for stuff. Actually, that’s not a bad decluttering test - “would I be heartbroken and mourn the loss if I this item disappeared in the flames of a house fire”? Food for thought!
Our house fire was in 2003. We lost everything material. I am more like Dana. Everything is viewed as valuable. The loss was not did not come from "within" and therefore I collected to compensate for the loss. It is (past) time to release all that stuff!!!
I'm going to have to think about my mindset about costume. I am allergic to dust. When I vacuum or dust (or do anything that disturbs that layer of stuff) I put on the type of goggles people wear in house renovations and an N95 mask. Or else I get a splitting headache that takes days to get rid of. But all this time I've been feeling like a victim, like I must look like an idiot, like how stupid it all is. And I think I need to use my imagination and instead imagine that I'm an astronaut on Mars, collecting samples of Mars dust, moving slowly in my bulky space-suit, doing a job only a few people outside my specialty understand. You guys. You have given me a real gift of using my imagination in new and different ways - thank you!!
I know this is an old comment, but that is an excellent idea! I too have to wear similar equipment to deal with dust during house cleaning, and this way of seeing it helps! Thank you for posting this perspective 😁🧡
@@LisaPFrampton she poses a very similar question to ask yourself--just like the famous Marie Kondo--when you are decluttering and copies a very popular blogger who focuses on the 1950s housewife (huge following on pinterest) yet the only credit she gave was, saw it somewhere on Pinterest. Dawn and Dana are absolutely wonderful and always give credit to where they've heard or saw something. If you create or sell anything you will understand where I am coming from.
I love Cas’s idea of making it playful by playing dress up. I remember, as a kid, facing a daunting task of cleaning out a rabbit cage, I asked an adult to put my hair up in a bandanna, so that I would look like Cinderella when she was cleaning the house. Thanks for the reminder of something I found quite motivating when I was little!
I am listening videos about decluttering and cleaning for a year now and finally I have my house always cleand and organized. (But I started the process 3 years ago, with my clothes). I can't believe it's so easy to me now to mantain a "perfect" home all the time, while in the past I was thinking it's soooo exhausting and I would never be an organized person (becase I never was before).
I’ve been binge watching your videos for the past few days while I declutter my closet and my craft room. I’ve taken about 20 bags to goodwill. It feels good to see the back wall of my closet through my clothes!!! Glad I watched this video because I had no idea how I was going to organize the 3 boxes of photos I found. 😁
I am so grateful for Cass's approval of the question "Where would I look for it?' because I've always used that through my life. However, the thing that has stopped me going further with decluttering is the thought of the pile of mess it makes. Now I know there's no big pile so that, combined with the "Onion method" have all got me into action and I'm on my second pass through the house. I still fill the car with bags within two days of dropping the last lot off! I'm loving the clean look of my house, and it's getting better every day. You three ladies make a brilliant team and are the answer to my prayers. Thankyou!
I so appreciate Dana's example about the glow in the dark bracelets because while I've improved in my process, that is *totally* how I struggle with decluttering! Also, the process of organizing before fully decluttering is how I've gotten better at the onion method -- knowing that the things I need to make a decision on are at least organized, it's a lot easier to face it because I'm not going to encounter any surprises.
I was a middle school and elementary teacher for 24 years. I retired 4 years ago. I gave away a ton of classroom supplies to children and coworkers, left supplies for my replacement teacher, decluttered and organized the room for her, and still took containers, books, teaching materials I'd labored over, and writing supplies home. It was overwhelming to see how it all cluttered up our small home office, so over time I let it go. Much of it I had a sentimental attachment to, but I made myself go through it- decluttering 15 minutes or 15 items each time, like peeling the onion. I have to say, I dont miss any if it. I had saved about 50 pens. Just went through them, and half had dried up,haha. The office is now a sewing room, and I couldnt be happier! However, I now have to periodically declutter and organize my fabric stash, lol. Love you ladies! I am grateful to the Fly Lady, Diane in Denmark, Do it on a Dime Kathryn, you ladies, and all the kind You Tube people who help us keep things under control Cass- dont put things into 10 different piles, yes! The container sets the limits- yes! Baby steps!
I love your strategies. To also take care of our emotions - as for me quite a few of the clutter pieces are actually a posted-note from a hurt or shamed me. So, to put that straight, that clearing a mess is not ignoring my very small me, EFT tapping helps me to get started, keep going and appreciate myself for the result, which helps to sustain it. Love the title of your program!
Lol. Hilarious and cute Cas! So funny! It’s true a uniform makes you mean business. I learned this when I was in my early 20s from a book called sidetracked home executives. Pioneers in housekeeping inspiration and strategies. They went as far as to say, have a pair of indoor shoes- dress like you mean business.
I saw that same video of the girl who did a weeks worth of 1950s housewife routine. That was interesting. What I drew from it was keeping a daily routine is really important to keep a sense of order and motivation. Our world really hasn't changed for the better.
Cas just made me feel better about my photo storage situation that i have felt guilty about for years. They are all in photo boxes. But they arent very organized by dates. Now i have an answer. Thank you Cass.
I’m A Dana for sure ❤️❤️. Husband is cass. And I relate to Dawn too. I think this is a great idea to have 3 different types of organizing /decluttering /emotional styles. You all add so much value ❤️❤️
Taking it to its home /or finding the item a more appropriate home as “we’re would it be used “ was a game changer for letting go of “just in case “ thankyou cause my house is big and I could ALWAYS find a place to store items
Omgoodness keep it coming you guys. I watch your videos every day for motivation and inspiration. I even thank you out loud when I've decluttered something like my utensil drawer and I can reach right in and grab a can opener in 1 second lol. Plus "I run this house" lol. And I don't want too much STUFF to run lol. It feels sooooo good!!!
“Buying another one” can be substituted with “I’m renting.” I can let something go with a degree of ease, when I compare letting go of a kitchen tool to renting a tool from the hardware store. The money I paid was not for ownership, it was for the limited time use.
When I was young my sisters and I would fight over who got to wear the prettiest apron when we would help our mom make cookies. I have all those aprons still and they so make me feel like it’s time to get serious when I put them on.
Dana White, you system is great for us “instant gratification” folks. By the time I go through a “space”, ask the question of where would I look for it and take it there... the “space” is decluttered AND organized enough to satisfy the instant gratification reasoning within me. It truly makes more sense to me than tossing everything to have less. That comes later as things go out the door by asking your questions. Does that make sense? Your questions along with working through your system seem to align all three of you ladies solutions to having a clutter free, easier flowing, simplified home. Thanks to all of you!
I’ve just spent 2 days going through boxes and boxes of double and triple photos - OMG! And I’ve realized I also had a CD! I’m making digital photo books and getting rid of ALL THE PHOTOS! I love you guys!
I was looking for something last week. It wasn't in the first place that I looked. When I did find it, I put it in the first place I had looked, once I was done with it. 😀👍
You look beautiful in that dress & pearls! This subject is GREAT! I have a garage full of stuff that I need to declutter. It feels like a hurclean task! I recently took our photos & made a LIFE BOOK for each person in our family. That organized the photos!
Here’s a philosophy that might help. The reason we acquire so many things is that they are relatively and individually inexpensive. And it is for that same reason that we should give ourselves permission to give those things up. Right?
Right. And I just spent the better part of three days decluttering, cleaning and polishing, and "redistributing" my jewelry. I will never be in that position again. My inventory managed me. I allowed it so as to experience the consequence of accumulation. Never again. My future self thanks me.
Cass I just watched that 1950's cleaning video last week, and it motivated me to get up and clean right then! I looked around and thought if someone stopped in unannounced, I would be so embarrassed! Love your dress, totally something I dream of wearing! Love all of you! Happy New Year!
I follow Diane In Denmark...she dresses to shoes every day...for cleaning, meal prepping, everything. I’ve adopted that mindset...it works for me, too. I’m not using toxic chemicals...Norwex, to the rescue...I’ve been decluttering for about 6 years, but the past 2 years I’ve really gone all in.. love it!
I’m scared because I kept silk flowers in fall colors, because I might use them. Yes, 5 years later I did, but really only two blossoms. I could have just got one pick at the dollar tree. Three dozen mums took up soooo much space. I’m getting rid of them 😂😂😂😂
I really like the way you put things where they go right away. I am using your technique as I am reorganizing my garage rather than the way I used to bring everything out and sort it on the floor. This makes it so I can do one task at a time.I like to make a specific list of tasks i.e. move lightbulbs to battery box. Thank you for your help!
Your husband is SO right! Because that is what happens: After I searched for 10 Minutes for that screwdriver... and couldn't find it... it is as if I didn't have one. So annoying. Because I _know_ it _has_ to be somewhere. But where? 🤔 That is why I love Dana's "Where would I look for it?" 🤯🥰😅
Just signed up. I'm so SO SOOO tired of the clutter. I've used the excuse of having 8 kids as a "there's no use trying" mindset for waaay to long. After I watched 1 episode of Dawn's, I decluttered our main floor bathroom(only 3 more to go!😂) I then did a large portion of the craft stuff... majorly reduced. I am now I'm starting in my bedroom... want it to be a peaceful, not stressful place! I always used to feel if I can't do it on my own, then I just am not capable. I have learned(grown up) a lot in the last 2 year and am grateful for the help and motivation now! Thanks ladies!
Cass!!! I can’t even believe it!!! I dream about wearing 1950s housewife attire to clean in, but never actually have done it! I LOVE that you do!! I will DEFINITELY be doing this in the future! You’re adorable!! ❤️❤️❤️
All 3 of you are SO motivating! Thank you so much for your encouragement. Love you and your happy and girly outfit, Cas. And love the photo storage idea. Just had to buy a new garage door (is the garage a container? LOL?) So can't really afford the course, but: whenever you all come up on youtube, I am all over it! Happy New Year to each of you and God bless you.
I am decluttering, most stuff I am using up and not replacing - until we get to appopriate amounts. Its gonna be a long process. I have days were I get the 'bags' out, bug bags for rubbish, recycling, charity - then do a massive bit - which spurs me on to do another massive chunk!
FYI the container method saved me from keeping a ton of grocery bags… I had bags of bags overflowing with bags because I use them for picking up doggie stuff and the container method helped me to get rid of all the bags except the 1 bag of bags I can keep in a specific place without going crazy and now it naturally goes up and down each week as I get more but now I can recycle the extra bags I don’t need… lol it totally helped!!! Thank you!
Nope, not everyone online has Facebook. Lots of us don't like their policies. However, I will be signing up for this course in spite of that because you said it wasn't necessary. Hooray! Thanks so much for having the offer through Sunday!
Oh, no! Sounds like you don't do the 'walking us through' different areas EXCEPT on Facebook! Shoot. Is there enough info in the course alone to enable us to do that?
I've been decluttering using your method, Dana, even before I came across your videos. Call it laziness maybe. I just don't want to have to handle the same item more than once. Works for me.
Ok 8 minutes into the video and I got up and went through 4 drawers and purged so many things, amazing!!!!!! They were sentimental videos, books from childhood and a few gifts. Feels good. Next I have to go through my paper clutter. So I will continue listening and hopefully will be inspired to do it. Thank you as always!!!!!
I like how you three are collaborating because you each have different personalities (ahem, I probably am the most similar to Dana!), and you have different strengths. This is great!
Ooohhhh wow!!!!! I'm Cas All. The. Way. I'm fast and I just don't mind getting rid of things. My husband is Dana, and I've NEVER been able to understand what his problem was. You totally just opened my eyes. Thank you!!!!!!!
@@tammyi363 oh myyy ME TOO! Cause for 1, I don't want them to see my mess and 2, they have no clue what I like or don't like so what if they throw something out that I want?! Right there with ya!!!
This is the only method that has worked for me. Thank you, thank you!! Lol...photos! I moved into this house 9 years ago. I just threw out a handful of undeveloped photos. If they weren't important for NINE YEARS, I didn't even need to develop them.
I use to put on my husband's never used bathrobe. When I had it on, I was the cleaning lady, not Mom! I homeschooled my daughter & was trying to find a way to separate my roles while getting ALL the stuff I needed to do!!
Haha great idea. I used to put on my wedding dress and a blonde curly wig and sing opera to be the tooth fairy. Other than that I'm always mum. The kids saw straight through it but it became a thing.
@@0392gunia me too. My New Year's resolution. I don't usually make them, but I'm making an exception because we are going to be doing a lot of work on our house.
Vintage ads in magazines show fancy ladies all dressed up as they are cooking, cleaning, just like many of the old tv shows. Cas looks adorable. Lots of people love to dress in vintage ALL the time, EVEN in public. I would love to dress vintage.....if I were tiny like Cas! So cute!
I don't have major issues with decluttering, in fact I enjoy it (I'm more like Cas in that) but I think it might be because I instinctively do what Dana's method is...interesting. I think it will work for people! I will have to tell one of my friends about the idea, she is completely overwhelmed by her stuff and doesn't know where to begin and doesn't have time for major piles and trips to the dump/goodwill. You've stated the method in a way I never could have done myself even though it's basically what I do!
Oh my gosh I just signed up.. this is going to be my year to get this house back. The home I've always wanted to have is within my grasp. ❤ cant wait girls oh I just cant wait.
Happy New Year's to you wonderful ladies for putting together a program for those of us who failed at every other declutter programs. I say been there and done that and now I get it. Thanks and blessings to your families looking forward to putting on an apron and going to work. I am using the apron as a reminder how my mother use to clean, declutter and organize our home as a child growing up there. Thank You

What a cool perspective!
@@mimijohnson7714 I really stuck with me as a lil girl with all brother's. And most costumes with capes were for boy's when I was lil. Lol
That's so cool
What a beautiful thought!
Love this!! ❤️
I'd like to add something to the photo boxes! How about at the end of each year you put that years photos in a dated envelope and put back in the same box. This would really help those of us that don't take the time to put dates on our photos! Yay? Nay?
“a slower approach that’s just progress, and no mess” 🙌🏼🥳
Amen! That's what I do! 🌞
Amen!!
I find this is the best approach for anyone. Take it step by step and don't try to do it all at once.
me too!
I bet it’s because you use so many cool things in school as art projects and have to spend your own money!? Be kind to yourself and breath. This from a bee...😂
Me too - especially just in case
Me too! Teachers have so much & need so much!
You won’t be sorry!
Thank you!!!
great tips ladies. Cass you look so cute in that dress, lipstick, 1950’s vibe.
Oh my goodness, thank you ladies! You all are so helpful - THE TRIFECTA - of taking our homes back. 🙏🏻
I can relate to Dana soooo much! I have such good intentions with everything I get, but follow thru is my challenge.
I'm so glad you ladies are doing these videos!!! You are helping so many of us. You are giving us peace and freedom!!! Thank you
I do my dishes every day now.
Dawn you are hilarious! All 3 of you are funny and engaging and complement each other. I’m so excited about the course!
Something I heard that I also like is the 80/80 rule. Keep your house 80% clean 80% of the time. ☺
Silver lining 😊
I’m so impressed by your attitude! I’d still be in mourning - for stuff. Actually, that’s not a bad decluttering test - “would I be heartbroken and mourn the loss if I this item disappeared in the flames of a house fire”? Food for thought!
Our house fire was in 2003. We lost everything material. I am more like Dana. Everything is viewed as valuable. The loss was not did not come from "within" and therefore I collected to compensate for the loss. It is (past) time to release all that stuff!!!
*did not
I sometimes try to imagine what I would miss if I had a house fire: pets, difficult to replace paperwork, ......🤔.....🤷♀️
And go out and find or craft your own, special astronaut goggles! I just know there's a funky pair steampunk goggles out there for you!
I know this is an old comment, but that is an excellent idea! I too have to wear similar equipment to deal with dust during house cleaning, and this way of seeing it helps! Thank you for posting this perspective 😁🧡
I sometimes wear a vintage apron and a "tiara" headband! It does make cleaning more fun!!!
I've worn high heels 😂 to make myself feel important, plus at the end of the day when my calves were sore, I felt like I had worked a lot! 😂
@@TheEllaTB that is so funny!!! 😹
I’m nicknaming you The Three Messkateers 😉 ...you’re welcome! 😂

Sorry, I wish they'd take cass out as she never seems to get others credit when she copies it.
Great name ❤️❤️
@@pamhernandez7989 you think so? Give examples
Cas, you are rocking the dress! Great outfit for New Year’s Eve. Cheers to 2021. 🍾🎉
I looove that outfit on you omg!!!
Have you checked out Dress Your Truth by Carroll Tuttle???
She's AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME!!!!!!!!
The office is now
a sewing room, and I couldnt be
happier!
However, I now have to periodically declutter and organize my fabric stash, lol.
Love you ladies! I am grateful to the Fly Lady, Diane in Denmark, Do it on a Dime Kathryn, you ladies, and all the kind You Tube people who help us keep things under control
Cass- dont put things into 10 different piles, yes!
Such great chemistry between these three! I have enjoyed your lives!! I've learned from all of you!
Dana!!!! Your glow bracelets explanation was spot on my life!!! Thank you for letting me know I'm not alone! 💜🥰🙏
The two questions have helped me so much. Taking the item there now has change my life.
Cas just made me feel better about my photo storage situation that i have felt guilty about for years. They are all in photo boxes. But they arent very organized by dates. Now i have an answer. Thank you Cass.
I’m
A Dana for sure ❤️❤️. Husband is cass. And I relate to Dawn too. I think this is a great idea to have 3 different types of organizing /decluttering /emotional styles. You all add so much value ❤️❤️
Cas, you look marvelous in that dress ! I think you should wear it to the grocery store - you'd be turning heads for sure. Cheers from Calgary.
I love that! Thank you! 💕
Dana (I still think of you as Nony!) THANK YOU for addressing emotional attachment. Thank you all for pulling this course TOGETHER. I’m so ready.
Dana, I splurged and purchased your book with audio and love it. I can listen and hopefully clean.

Taking an item to its home worked for me tonight. Thank you!
Loved the tips on organizing photos. I like the idea of 3 broad categories! That is such a mind shift for me and I'm going to try it! Thanks ladies!
When I was young my sisters and I would fight over who got to wear the prettiest apron when we would help our mom make cookies. I have all those aprons still and they so make me feel like it’s time to get serious when I put them on.
There is a beautiful, sentimental gift fir your sisters in there somewhere, even if it is a photo collage of a manikin each of them.
Can you do a video on convincing your husband to let go of things, and get organized!🙂
Right?
Well put! I’m going to add this to my mantra from Dawn: “it’s all just inventory that you have to manage.”
@@Julies-in-a-mood We don't want to manage any more inventory, do we? Enough of that! :-)
Right. And I just spent the better part of three days decluttering, cleaning and polishing, and "redistributing" my jewelry. I will never be in that position again. My inventory managed me. I allowed it so as to experience the consequence of accumulation. Never again.
My future self thanks me.
I like to pretend I'm Downton Abbey's staff when I do housework of any kind. I'll have to look into costuming that fantasy. Too much fun!
Thank you ladies, you are all valuable and a great team giving different perspectives!!!

Cas I absolutely love your dress. I would definitely wear it out. I love that style and the colours are so good.
I really like the way you put things where they go right away. I am using your technique as I am reorganizing my garage rather than the way I used to bring everything out and sort it on the floor. I am now I'm starting in my bedroom... want it to be a peaceful, not stressful place! I always used to feel if I can't do it on my own, then I just am not capable. I have learned(grown up) a lot in the last 2 year and am grateful for the help and motivation now! Thanks ladies!

Yes!
Thanks Dana! You got it! You are exactly talking "my style".
Dana, yes progress even if its small...... thank you for your honesty.
Ok 8 minutes into the video and I got up and went through 4 drawers and purged so many things, amazing!!!!!! They were sentimental videos, books from childhood and a few gifts. Feels good.
At "...working through who you thought you were going to be when you brought that item into your home..." I grabbed a pen and started taking notes.
Thank You
