  • My one month review of the new 2023 Honda CRF250RX. I try to review the bike in a mud park for some reason. Mudslangers in Houston, MS. I talk about the throttle response and different mappings for the ignition and give you my take on how good this dirt bike is...spoiler...it's still amazing! #crf250rx

      @@thegreat1548 probably not. Throttle is snappy it’s basically a race bike with an 18” tire, kickstand, and softer suspension. If you don’t know what you’re doing you’re gonna be miserable the slower you go because the throttle has instant response.

    Loved your comment about “needing” the RX when the 250F would be fine. I was in the exact boat, I just “needed” the RX too! … when in actual the 250f would have done everything I typically do😂 BUT I too am loving the RX and have been enjoying trail riding and open riding with my 6,7,7, and 10 year old kids. They have the Honda 50cc and 110cc.

    You'll be glad you went with the 250RX, because it's something you can grow into, skills wise. The trail bike would have been boring for you in a short while. Plus, these high-end bikes have vastly better aftermarket support and better resale down the road.

    My favourite bike, a few people have told me they have problems when they’re at low speeds it bogs out easy but I haven’t had any problems at all with that. It pulls up hills amazing and you can feather the clutch in those tight areas nicely as well. Only thing I wasn’t used to was the suspension being a bit softer compared to a track bike but it’s easily adjustable to your weight and skill or just all around preference. Hella steez on the tracks too

    Gonna add my 2 sense into that. I’m a young rider 21 and I grew out of the 250f pretty quickly looking for more and finding limitations with the suspension. So now I’m picking up a 250rx. No one notes the 450x has 40 horsepower and the 250rx has 38 the 250 actually has a higher top speed. Not that it will ever used realistically I’m hoping this pick will keep up with my 450 friends

    I've got a couple buddies who have CRF250Fs and have had lots of opportunity to ride that bike many times. I've also been able to sample the KLX230R. Between those two, I preferred the Honda. I had a KLX300 dual sport and wanted to trade it for a real trail bike as I was not riding on the road, just single track. According to Cycle Trader, a local shop had a CRF250F. I took my KLX300 dual sport in to trade for the CRF250F. But when I got there, what they actually had available was a used 2021 CRF250RX with only 6 hours. They also had a WR250F but it was still in the crate. I opted for the CRF250RX since it was relatively unused, only 6 hours, I didn't want to wait for them to build the WR. It certainly was a bit of a transition going from the mild 300 dual sport to the ripping 250 competition bike. At first, I had my doubts and a bit of buyer's remorse, feeling that maybe I should have looked around more for a CRF250F. Four months later and there's no buyer's remorse at all. I had a chance to ride one of the CRF250Fs a few weeks ago, swapping with my buddy. That bike is still a great bike, I can't say anything bad about it, and I'm probably no faster on my RX. But it's not near as much bike as the CRF250RX. I'm probably good enough that I've already hit the ceiling on the CRF250F but have plenty of room to grow with the RX. Since I'm riding really tight single track almost exclusively, I've found map two to be the best for me. I mostly ride in 2nd and 3rd gear and then use the clutch to prevent stalling. I can ride for hours now and may stall once or twice. I was stalling all over the place at first. Just subscribed and looking forward to more CRF250RX content.

    • @FoxRunAdventures
      @FoxRunAdventures  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s good to hear, I’m hoping with more practice all the stalling will be a non issue. I can already tell it’s way better. Planning on having lots more 250rx content. Thanks for the comment and the subscribe 👍🏻

    I was thinking of getting this bike for trail riding, of any sort, at moderate enjoyable laid-back speeds. But nothing hardcore enduro or such. Riding alone, just for the day. See the sights, not see what its capable of. Also would like to make connections on public roads, I know this can come registered for public road usage so thats good. Not many options if you want that from enduro-like bike. Its pretty much KTM or Honda. I like Honda for its reliability.
    Also any worries about it stalling at low speeds, or it not having long enough final gear, is fine by me. I can change those. I'm just mostly concerned if its light enough, fun enough, easy enough, reliable enough. Seat, clutch, gears, all that is adjustable with parts and work.

How many hours do you have on it? Im an older vet rider who now wants a more ballsy bike underneath me that will still trail ride, seems like this might be the ticket thanks!

    I think of getting one, I am a leasure rider driving my current CRF 250L through woods and paths. I am ambitious and drive at maximum possible speed. I saw a matrix, though, that the RX is close to motocross and thus NOT engineered for softer/slower trail riding and not a leasure Enduro - what are your thoughts on this? Thanks!

    • @FoxRunAdventures
      @FoxRunAdventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The motor does not like to lug at all. You have to use the clutch a lot to go slow. This bike does not like slow technical 0-5mph stuff. That’s stock, but I’m sure you could add fly wheel weights to help. It’s on my list to try 👍

    • @northerntoyota7584
      @northerntoyota7584 ปีที่แล้ว

      For slow technical riding 2 strokes are superior, which is why you see the worlds best on 300 2 strokes. I had a wr250 and slow speed it would flame out and stall very easily. Now on a gasgas 250 2 stroke.
