This is very emotional for me, exactly five years ago me and my best friend were out on the Hart River, it's the most beautiful and incredible trip I've ever been on, we were out in the wilderness for 52 days. A couple of months ago, he unexpectedly chose to leave this world. So watching the first part of your movie was very special for me. And by the way, Elliott Lake is full with grayling and lake trout :) The 25 km on Elliott Creek was quite demanding so I can imagine what the next couple of days were like for you. Can't wait to see the rest of your video!
It's a subtle, less morose, way of saying "sorry for your loss". It's also been five years so a touch of humour is not out of line. Also, you should not use words that you don't know the meaning of, as in "prat": talk foolishly or at tedious length about something. At this point you could appropriately call me a prat, but not Jim. Anyways, have a decent day.@@jackiekinner3826
dude, I can't believe I'm no more than 3 clicks away from premium, top class, and FREE content like this. im currently recovering from a herniated disc, can't move, can't walk, can't stand, and wanted to escape my reality of not just my injury but also my reality of living in Chicago: I wanted to camp, canoe, cook, hike, reset, and be with nature. I knew just the right guy: Jim. it's always just as simple as: I wonder what Jim is up to? thanks, man
You’re welcome and that injury sounds miserable. I hope you get healed up soon and in the meantime, I’m very glad to hear my videos are helping you along the way.
The highest high I ever had was in 1990 when the 180 Cessna bush plane dropped me off on the Sheenjek river. My buddies wouldn't be able to join me until the next day to start our raft trip. Seeing that plane fly off, leaving me alone approximately 200 miles above the arctic circle made me feel more alive than I ever had before. Im so jealous of you 🙂 thanks for all your videos !
I'm up for another awesome adventure, it's been kinda tame waiting for this trip, strapped in my comfy chair ready for the action thanks for taking us along Jim all the best from UK !
And it begins! Rough start but that’s no surprise. Easy isn’t a word I would use to describe most of your adventures. Well, at least a portion of the adventure! Ready for the next video!!!
Yet another really interesting and professional upload, shouldn't you be selling this to national geographic? Deserves a large audience, thanks again for taking us along.
Finally! I have been so excited to watch this series. Seriously the editing (Tori I imagine :)) and fiming just keeps getting better. It seems like you upgraded some of your cameras as well as the footage looks so crisp and clean. By far my favourite TH-camr! How aren't you at 500k plus subscribers??
Cause people like to watch the same old crap from those boring TH-camrs erecting tarps, building shelters, destroying the forest floor by ripping up the moss and disrupting the ever so delicate ecosystems, just for likes, and some have even more than a million followers, never understand these people! Jim Baird all the way for me,a true adventurer 😊
Jim Baird is the GOAT of wilderness expeditions ... highly recommend people go back and watch his previous if they haven't seen them already, the sheer will to overcome any challenge no matter how difficult or tedious (thinking of some of the portaging, or fighting through literally hundreds of miles of birch swamp) is beyond impressive.
Klondike Jim, Yukon Jim now Skookum Jim…You ol claim jumper!!!! What a freeging awesome video…great work! When you had that pile of gear I thought maybe you had a dredge ha ha ha!
The wind she blows on Lac La Biche, the wind she blows some more. You'll never die on Lac La Biche if you never leave the shore. That said, I loved the video and am looking forward to the next. God Bless.
Thanks a lot! Ya, this is my third big canoe trip in the Yukon. Of course we also went there in winter, lived out of a cabin, went winter camping, etc.
What a start to a great adventure. It amazes me Jim how you just go out there by yourself. Your filming is so good love the music in this one. Can't wait to see more.🙂🇨🇦👍👍👍👍👍
Hello Jim, I've been looking forward to more of the your never a dull moment adventures. Dragging a canoe over rocks isn't fun. I've had my fare share of that. The awesome beauty that Canada affords those who travel her lands. It's folks like yourself that give us not so fortunate the adventures and the thrill of each adventure you embark on. Awesome job!!!
Hi Jim, so looking forward to watching this series. The one time I made it to the Yukon was in the late fall, beautiful weather one day, and the next morning it was snowing and had pretty much turned to winter overnight.
Jolly good show. I've been camping and getting out like crazy this year. thanks for inspiring me !! getting ready for a kayak camp next week. All alone back country lake. Be safe
Jim, I think there is something about the Yukon that brings out the best in you. Perhaps It’s the great, big, broad land ’way up yonder. Perhaps it’s the forests where silence has lease; perhaps it’s the beauty that thrills you with wonder, or the stillness that fills you with peace. I’m just glad you bring us along. My god, that landscape speaks to me, and I’ve not yet been close enough to hear her voice in person.
Your videos never disappoint Jim. My wife and I got hooked watching you and your brother on Alone. You’re my wife’s celebrity crush haha Good luck on your future adventures
Wow, man, Wow! The cinematography was your best yet!! The music, the picture quality, the shots you got, the story telling. Even if it's not the most rapid-heavy adventure, the way you created and edited this is epic. Definitely your best work yet. Well done, Jim!! 👍
All I want to say is thank you Jim, I was severely injured and feeling very depressed but you replied with such hope and now I'm almost fully recovered! I can't wait to see this adventure of yours and to start my own again. God Bless you.
Yikes that intro gave me shivers. As always I watch with a pair of good headphones. That eerie, deep tone of the music combined with some awesome shots was something else. Wow. Well done Jim. It has been wonderful to see your channel grow. Very much looking forward to this series. EDIT: I'm not sure if you've ever had any feedback on this, but I really appreciate the context you give your viewers, with maps and some animations to show us where you are and stuff!
You are no longer a content creator you have fully transitioned to film maker! Just wow the production value is off the charts! I love your adventures and cannot wait to watch every episode of this one. This is fantastic and thank you for taking us along for the ride!

An old friend name Jim is back. That is good. Lovely footage. I want him to be more comfortable this time. I remember the hardships he endured in the video with his brother.

I'm one minute in and this trip looks absolutely incredible Jim, I enjoy your series so much it's really my only chance to experience some of the true wilderness we have on the planet.
Always in for your trips friend. White fish on my bucket list, can't be any better than from the Yukon territory. So much to convey and no words to match my thoughts. Paddle on Jim! I'll follow.
